@noonamesi don’t think the RF do read the room and are very reactionary. Take the recent tax information being released, they are under pressure so the PR machine is in over drive. Anyway I hope many others get the opportunity and support they need to do this challenge if they want to, hopefully this will raise awareness!

How is the PoW doing this challenge an example of them not reading the room though? That’s what you were referring to, nothing to do with tax.

sittingonabeach · 28/06/2026 22:12

@measuretwicecutonce many workplaces organise teams to do this as part of a charity fundraising exercise.

So was Catharine wrong for doing this as not reading the room, but if she doesn't do anything she is doing something wrong too

Definitely NOT lazy. What a sour disagreeable person you are.

OMG that's amazing! I couldn't climb up to the top of a piece of Toblerone! Well done Catherine! She looks so cute in those normal/casual clothes! Grin

hypocritical lazy wastes of space

It's an amazing achievement for anyone. I just feel a bit sad that she couldn't make something of it before hand or get other cancer survivors to join in with it because of the security risks. I wouldn't live her life for all the tea in China, it must be incredibly isolating at times.

@measuretwicecutonce

https://www.threepeakschallenge.uk/bookings

here you go… all you need. I did it 12 years ago, cost £285 then it’s £450 now. You need to be fit, buy suitable gear if you don’t have it already but otherwise its definitely a challenge suitable for many people, its not Everest! But it does require a bit of training, I went up some of the Derbyshire hills to train.

measuretwicecutonce · 28/06/2026 22:18

Intereresting that people are just keen to jump to easy it is to do/ many haven’t you done it/are you doing it now to you’ve (evidently) got all the info. Easy to ignore the facts. We know all about the resources Kate has, we know nothing about other people and of course we don’t know if they have done it/are physically able to do it/ have the support needed.

@measuretwicecutonce am so pleased you asked how you could do this challenge and thankfully posters have answered with useful info. Am looking forward to you linking your charity fundraising site on this thread so we can all support you - count me in for at least a tenner. Which charity will you be fundraising for? Once you say, I’ll happily set up a thread for your endeavours. good luck!

Yes, great idea. Imagine all the support you would receive on MN. Please keep us updated @measuretwicecutonce

What are you on about? 30,000 people do this every year. You’ve been provided with information as to how it can be done.

measuretwicecutonce · 28/06/2026 21:05

I’d like to do this, can someone signpost me? Where do I get 24hr support, all the equipment and training support I need please? Oh and transport to and from so my family can come? Oh and the time off work for all the training and to do it. Oh and sometime to look after DC as DH works shifts so it’s tricky.

Oh get lost and take your jealousy and bitywith you.

People are “jumping” to how easy it is to do and are you doing it, because you said you’d like to do it and could anyone give you some information? Which lots of helpful people have done.

I suspect it was more about public safety as much as security risks. If word had got out about her doing the challenge you can bet that loads of people who absolutely have no business being out on mountains like that trying to catch a glimpse of her.

Mountain Rescue who were supporting her on the challenge probably advised they didn't want to have to waste resources rescuing people who weren't prepared to be in those conditions.

Also imagine the paps sending drones etc trying to get photos and ruining the experience for everyone else on the mountains.

Wow congrats Catherine! If you have energy for that, you have energy for working, right?

The envy and bitterness is just oozing out of you. If you are so against the Royals what are you doing reading posts about them?

You're sounding ridiculous now. Almost every cancer charity website lists organised fundraising challenges that anyone can sign up for. You could do one yourself instead of whining on the interent. I'm doing one later this year, I don't have any special resources available to me.

As you've been told numerous times, thousands of people do the Three Peaks, annually without any special support.

and yet you've clicked on this thread....

Twatterati · 28/06/2026 22:25

How about a slightly different take: the work shy wife of a billionaire land owner undertakes a challenge with the support of tax payer funded security, private chauffeurs and mountain rescue experts. She then toddles off to her grace and favour home, where she’s warmly greeted by the aforementioned BILLIONAIRE husband, before cheerfully asking the great unwashed to donate to her worthy cause (during a cost of living crisis and time of high unemployment).

READ . THE . ROOM . CATHERINE

She didn’t really need to any of that did she. They could’ve just done a bank transfer for a few million £, and not miss it. Oh dear, I hope she won’t be too tired to dress up and wave at Wimbledon now.

Cooshawn · 28/06/2026 22:27

JustAnotherWhinger · 28/06/2026 20:33

She did them all in the 24 hours it says.

on another forum some folks are criticising the fact she was driven between the three peaks, but I can’t imagine anyone actually doing the peaks and safely doing all the driving!

I've done the 3 peaks with a group of friends. Another of our friends drove our minibus because it would have been lunacy for one of us to drive!

sittingonabeach · 28/06/2026 22:28

Mountain rescue probably used it as training exercise

And we don't know if they have made donations to cancer charities

ainsleysanob · 28/06/2026 22:28

BasilParsley · 28/06/2026 21:29

You didn't do it solo?

Well, unless someone carried me round unbeknown to me, which they didn’t, then I definitely walked round solo. On my own legs.

Lunde · 28/06/2026 22:28

Housebashing · 28/06/2026 21:07

We’ve all missed it blinking you would’ve as well

You must be blind
-Trooping the Colour
-Garter Day
-Ascot (not the most fun day out for someone allergic to horses)
-essay on Early Childhood Education
-Visit to the Battle of Britain Memorial
plus climbing 3 mountains in 24 hours to raise money for a cancer charity

.... and that is just the past fortnight.

Lunde · 28/06/2026 22:30

measuretwicecutonce · 28/06/2026 21:20

I wouldn’t wish cancer on anyone however this constant ‘wow amazing’ everyone Kate does anything is pretty insulting to all those who are diagnosed and having to work, deal with family life etc with very little support. As usual Kate and William not reading the room. Cancer outcomes and treatment times are going backwards 🙁

So shouldn't she be applauded for raising money to improve treatment?

Lunde · 28/06/2026 22:33

measuretwicecutonce · 28/06/2026 21:37

I think it’s a shame that people can’t see the other side here. The RF are paid to raise awareness/money and are given all the support and PR they need. I’ve said well done and great she’s raising money however to pretend it’s open to all is ridiculous and quite sad.

What isn't open to all though?

Obviously not all people have the fitness to do it but walking is pretty accessible.

JudgeJ · 28/06/2026 22:37

ConnectFortyFour · 28/06/2026 20:16

Was it solo?! Who took the picture then?

Are those annoying selfie sticks still popular.
