I think the police provided security and there was a big hoo-ha over it.

Did they just escort them at 'appearances'? I doubt they each had a dedicated round the clock armed guard, especially as the two of them attended separate events on at least one occasion.

bluegreygreen · 28/06/2026 20:51

Harry is not 'paranoid about security'.

He's obsessive about status.

People who are concerned about security do not

  • publish their itinerary in advance when not required
  • make a lot of noise in the media before travel
  • roll down bulletproof windows in cars
  • order takeaway delivery to a friend's house
  • ring strangers' doorbells
There are other examples, but these are some just off the top of my head.

Harry has no real concept of security.

Aprilfountain · 28/06/2026 20:51

Yes he has been, and he's no doubt very well paid by certain media outlets to do so, (cough, ITV, cough) He'll come to regret it though, in the long term...

I thought that too, well played Catherine

Honestly, I doubt Catherine gives Meghan a thought these days. She will have been preparing for this event for months so I'm sure the timing is coincidental. However, it really does show up the chasm between her and Meghan.

Not that I think they should be compared just because they married brothers. But it's quite hard not to notice when the difference is so stark.

No, Catherine won't care. She's pushed herself to achieve something which raises money for an amazing cause.
It's so beyond flower sprinkles! There's a yawning chasm between these two women.

Genius move by Catherine, there's no way Lady Muckle can ever compete with that!

I think she's one of the last few survivors on today's mail of the pure print world and will have whatever opinion is required of her at any time.

I'm not getting a lot of Kate-hate from that article though, maybe not reading it attentively enough in my hot house 🥵 - apparently you lose 3% productivity for every degree above 30 as I heard on the news last night, so I'm 18% more stupid than normal - keep this up and we'll all be on the same level as the ginger whinger.

😂

PigglyWigglyOhYeah · 28/06/2026 21:01

I bloody love Catherine. Totally lovely, but also tough and resilient. What a treasure she is.

You're probably right - but the timing is perfect.

As was the week that the Royals all wore grey suits.

No! Plus what a great role model for her children. Out there, pushing herself mentally and physically. Not for personal gain.
Huge contrast.

Does H actually have a relationship with the Spencer's ? He would be banging on about that to no end. CS strikes me as a very no nonsense guy

If Harry is 'paranoid' about security why do he and his wife frequently visit countries without any special security arrangement? Leaving their children on another continent? They chose to put 14 flight hours and 19 time zones between themselves and their children on that daft Oz 'tour'.

He's not paranoid about security. He's just an emotionally and intellectually stunted boor who, as you say, knows sweet FA about the real world.

I think it’s all tied in with the tabloids hounding his mother “to death”, in his mind. The only threat is from British paparazzi and whatever online threats he’s received from British people/ people in the UK (I’m assuming nobody outside the country gives half a shit about him). No specific threats to him emanating from Colombia or the Ukraine or whatever - but in his mind, specific and credible threats in the U.K.

I’m not saying any of this is reasonable or logical or makes any sense btw. I think this is what his paranoid little - very little - intellect has lead him to believe.

I know off topic, sorry, but huge congrats to the PoW on completing the 3 peaks challenge this weekend for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.

Deleted.

I think they all dressed in shades of burgundy soon after Meghan said the royal ladies were not allowed to wear the same colour as senior royals, could have been a coincidence, but it was quite amusing either way, showed how Meghan had a flawed image of the Royal ‘rules’ .

Yes, he thinks the British press murdered his mother, despite the fact that she died in Paris, in a car driven by someone who was over the limit and while not wearing a seatbelt. Mind you, he also said that he didn’t want the life of a working royal because it killed his mother, despite the fact that she wasn’t a working royal when she died, and hadn’t been for some time. To quote Blackadder, the eyes are open, the mouth moves, but Mr Brain has long since departed. (Or something.)

BasiliskStare · 28/06/2026 21:22

@IcedPurple - I haven't heard someone use "boor" for a while - DH did about someone some time ago - but in this context such an apposite word. I intend to use it , where appropriate, more often. 😊Thank You

Absolutely! So determined, good humoured, positive and resilient.
Plus doing something for a great cause.
How refreshing.

Wearing a new outfit, with Lilibet in the closet, helping Mommy choose?

I've always thought she has a core of steel. You'd have to have to marry William knowing the level of scrutiny you'd be under forever after.

What a shame that the Sussexes had tried to move in on 'sporty' territory with the part in their UK itinerary where they're going to try their hand at new sporting activities. Yes, inept throwing, how lovely. Not really like climbing a mountain though is it?
