Hello 👋, just arrived to catch up and poof ! 😁

BigWillyLittleTodger · Yesterday 15:19

Thanks for the new thread @NormalAuntFanny 🙏

That Amanda Patell article is trying really hard to paint Catherine as petty and vindictive under the guise of sympathising with her. Even Harry couldn't find evidence that she is, hence lip gloss-gate.

I doubt Catherine cares if a grand father meets his grandchildren. Since there is no evidence Charles is planning to bring the Sussexes back into the working royal fold (or indeed that they want that) why on earth would Catherine spend time thinking about them. She has plenty of other things to occupy her time and attention.

I agree! , it was very much shallow faux sympathy! , how would anyone know what Catherine is thinking?

I just wanted to respond to one of the final posts on the last thread that the media seem to believe that H&M&A&L will come to the UK in July …. For me this line of reporting / speculation just drives more clicks and cash for the press - it keeps the tension and dialogue going. If the media said they are not coming it would end the discussion and column inches and clicks. This is also why the media flip / flop on opinions - just to agitate and keep engagement, clicks and cash.

Least of all Amanda Platell!

bluegreygreen · Yesterday 15:33

Amanda Platell has written a number of very snide articles about Catherine under a veneer of sympathy.

Not2identifying · Yesterday 15:44

I actually thought the Platell article was very supportive of her and didn't really have that snide edge I'm sure I have seen before in her work. I can understand why others think differently though.

I think she's one of the last few survivors on today's mail of the pure print world and will have whatever opinion is required of her at any time.

I'm not getting a lot of Kate-hate from that article though, maybe not reading it attentively enough in my hot house 🥵 - apparently you lose 3% productivity for every degree above 30 as I heard on the news last night, so I'm 18% more stupid than normal - keep this up and we'll all be on the same level as the ginger whinger.

Thanks for the thread!

Someone posted towards the end of the last that Meghan had uploaded what she wore at the Canada Invictus to her shopping link site. I don't understand how she lists things she wore ages ago on the site - surely they would no longer be in stock? Fashion has moved on?

ShamedBySiri · Yesterday 16:59

It was Noonames.

"Just seen that Meghan has added outfits from the last Invictus to OneOff - quite shocked that she's prepared to exploit disabled veterans from Harry's so-called passion project to make a few quid."

It's so hot today!

All the curtains are closed at the back of the house and we are hiding in the front room until about six.

I had to go out to the back garden to do something and lasted about ten minutes.

Yes ! Apologies if I’m rude or bitchy! I’m peri anyway so the fact it is currently 39 degrees here with 80 percent humidity, has rendered me stupid, aggravated and petty! 🙏

I wonder if that explains PH grouchiness - I suspect he would claim peri as well.

It's the structure of the article.

A lovely long list of all the accusations made against her, which reminds everyone of them, followed by

"All this history surely means the news that her beloved father-in-law is planning a reunion with the Sussexes must feel like a blow to Kate, especially as she returns to public life after her cancer battle: radiant at Royal Ascot and majestic at Trooping the Colour for the King's Birthday Parade alongside her beautiful children."

It diminishes Catherine both in repeating the accusations that she is racist and won't share lip gloss, and with claims that she will feel that Charles seeing Harry is a betrayal of Catherine personally. I'm pretty sure Catherine is emotionally mature enough to want them to reconcile and for there to be a bit more peace in the family. This is painting her as fragile "William protect Kate" and unable to stand up for herself, hurt by "beloved father in law" meeting his son, as someone who holds grudges and causes divisions.

I find it bitchy and underhand.

The pemberly house from the BBC production is up for sale. I’m surprised Harry and Meghan haven’t been linked to it. Just think of the content options

Do you mean Netherfield? I'm pretty sure that Lyme Park that was used as Pemberley is owned by the National Trust

However Netherfield has just been put on the market and there are rumours that Geri Halliwell has been to view.

Back in the day there were rumours about Harry and Meghan buying 1995 Longbourn - but I think Meghan prefers a modern McMansion

I'm not sure Harry and Meghan have £45,000,000 to spare

@MrsLeonFarrell I see what you mean.

I'm confused now, @lunde. Rightmove have it here for £20 million, or is that just for the main house and the rest of the estate costs extra? (It mentions 2 lots so maybe so ...)

https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/88693632#/?channel=RES_BUY

I see on Savills it's listed as £20-45 million - I think they are indicting that the house and gardens could be split from the rest of the estate as it says 288-1,700 acres

You get
The Grade I listed house plus formal gardens
31 other houses, cottages and flats
equestrian facilities that include 2 racing yards plus training gallops
A lot of farmland - arable and grazing

Justdancevance · Yesterday 19:14

That’s Pemberly rather than netherfield

How many videos of ‘ Hot Harry ‘ emerging from the pond could she post, and I’m sure Meghan could post lots of videos of her or Lili playing the pian. From a content point of view it’s perfect, but they wouldn’t have the money unless the bank of Pa can be prized open

MyDogClive · Yesterday 19:22

Surely the Harkles have more in common with the Wickhams?

Justdancevance · Yesterday 19:27

Or Rosings 😆 She gives Lady Catherine de Bourgh vibes
