Will they stay at Royal Lodge? I really hope it all works out for KC and to see his grandchildren would be lovely.

Harry is wearing a baby blue linen shirt and a black 'Invictus Australia' baseball cap. Meghan is wearing a darker blue and white striped shirt.

Harry and Meghan offered royal accommodation during UK visit

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are set to visit the UK with their children next month, for the first time since 2022.

Oh give it a rest

The irony in this comment is real.

I think PH has behaved badly but withdrawing the invitation is equally childish. A pox on the lot of them. We pay so much towards the Royal Family and they set a bloody appalling example.

Well just proves my point, you would rather insult and mock people then actually address the point being made.

Which have been dissected, discussed and corrected multiple times yet you still can’t quite grasp the actual facts.

adragoncalledaudrey · 06/07/2026 12:48

I’m not sure bending over backwards to accommodate a flip flopping abusive guest is setting a good example either though.

If H’s allegations are true, I’d be staying in a b&b before asking for accommodation.

If the allegations are not true, it is presumptuous to assume he could stay in the first place.

RF or paupers, I would imagine the feelings would be the same.

They didn't withdraw the invite out of spite.

They withdrew it because Harry repeatedly refused to accept the offer, so it wasn't possible to organise staff to prepare and secure the lodgings.

Harry knew he was making this trip months ago. Why on earth could he not provide the required notice?

Do you understand what is going on? For security and housekeeping reasons, they asked Harry to respond by Friday. He didn't. He then said on Saturday that he wasn't coming. Ok.
Then he changed his mind. He may imagine, Royal Prince that he is, that by just snapping his fingers, it can happen. The people who have tried to accommodate him, safely, comfortably and securely are not "petty".
Harry is being foolish and inconsiderate.

I am on the fence. If I told someone they could stay and instead of accepting or declining they were telling others about the offer and that they still had not accepted had a few days before, I might also rescind. It’s inconsiderate and certainly no way to begin repairing the relationship.

“Since I still have not heard back from you, this no longer works for me.”

We cannot expect KC to treat Harry like a family member, while Harry treats KC like an institution.

As he was rumored to have said, KC is not a bank. Nor is he a hotel.

It’s a taster of what it must be like to work for the Sussexes 😁

I think they’ll be well acquainted with examples of all sorts being shoved up, down and in.

Thank heavens for NDAs.

Well, quite!

Recklessismymiddlename · 06/07/2026 13:42

@abigailll had not thought of that as Buckingham palace backdrop. Good point.

Me neither! , but I’m now thinking of the optics ! Especially to other countries and people who are not acquainted with the whole sorry story!
Harry boldly standing in front of Buckingham palace delivering a speech, will certainly give the impression that it is endorsed by the king and the palace! 😬

IAmATorturedPoet · 06/07/2026 14:02

I suspect that PH saying that he was planning a victory speech even if he only won one of the 14 claims against ANL tomorrow when the judgement is published - makes BP / RF concerned that he will use BP as the backdrop for his ‘victory speech’ - even if it’s just outside the gates…..or footage of him sweeping in and out of the gates at speed with helicopters filming the shenanigans.

@abigailll I was thinking along similar lines. H (and his wife) are all about the optics and status. I wondered if that was behind his latest u turn on accepting accommodation at the palace. Him sweeping in through the gates of BP with his security detail (and a conveniently placed photographer).

We will find out shortly.

And yet strangely enough, racists still remain racist after four years! If these disgusting racist scumbags were affronted by black heritage “polluting” the royal family as they put it, then their views will not have changed four years on, indeed their ire is more likely to be focused on the children.

Does that also apply to the well known racist Harry ?

NotTalkinBoutTheLinen · 06/07/2026 15:03

@Vivienesarches689 Why would you do that?!! No one has said any such thing about the children. That’s a horrible thing to fabricate and could cause them infinite harm if they heard and believe it. These children are precious and innocent even if their own parents make poor choices constantly.

What kind of game is this?!

I disagree, they’re not getting involved with his ridiculous games. I he gets a small win, like let us know by x so we can be prepared and he doesn’t … not only he doesn’t but it sounds like he ‘told them’ via breaking news flash … so they did one back …. Says a lot to me about not putting up with his entitlement bullshit

Technically, H refused the offer. In writing, on Saturday.

So the offer wasn't withdrawn. No second offer was made, because it was by then too late to ready yhe rooms.

The offer wss NOT rescinded. H advised BP in writing on Saturday morning that he would not be taking up the offer.

BP is currently undergoing major renovations and no members of the RF stay there so yes they would have had to prepare accommodation, draft in staff and ensure adequate security.

Yeah because it’s not as if they don’t have staff to do that sort of thing!

He’s family fhs. They should make it work.

KC3 is head of the C of E! I’m sure he has heard the parable of the prodigal son read many times.

Recklessismymiddlename · 06/07/2026 15:48

Harry shouldn’t have refused the offer in the first place and placed everyone in a difficult position. It’s his own fault and no one else’s. For once in his bloody life, he should own it. But why change the habit of a lifetime? Idiot. He’s a spoilt brat. Time he grew up.

Is that the case. So many different versions difficult to know what to believe. So its still not certain whether Meghan and kids will makd an appearance I doubt it.

Exactly! The Sussex camp put it in writing on Saturday morning that the family would be turning down the invitation to stay after repeated nudges from the Palace for clarity on the situation. I think what's happened is PH and MM hoped Windsor or even Clarence House would be offered instead but when no such offer was forthcoming, late on Sat they decided PH would come alone and he went back to the Palace to say that, only to find that couldn't be accommodated, because it was too late in the day. I think King Charles has just reached the end of his tether with them.
