Princess’s Anne’s wedding dress was one of my favourites, followed by Eugenie’s. I thought Meghan’s was so ill-fitting that it couldn’t have come from Givenchy!

That is beautiful!

i really like Princess Marie of Denmark’s wedding dress! She looked lovely (although I don’t like the tiara much)

This is lovely

I had never seen her dress before. It's beautiful. Very classic and classy! The bodice does look a tiny bit like a Wonderbra though!

😁😁😁 @IcedPurple That’s so very true! As having very ‘ahem’ small norks myself, I am instantly drawn to dresses that are like this.

Hard to pick a favourite because they were of their time, Princess Anne’s stood out as being very stylish at the time.

I hate bare shoulders in a wedding dress so I wasn’t keen on Meghan’s. I think it was so close to being lovely and for various reasons missed the mark. Her tiara was fabulous though.

I loved Meghan’s evening dress (the halter neck) - that one was stunning.

EnoughRain · 07/06/2026 13:30

Hated Harriet’s. Also hated Beatrice’s.

Absolutely loved Sarah Chatto’s, Meghan’s especially her evening dress, Camilla’s St George’s dress was just glorious. Quite liked Sarah Ferguson’s at the time.

Didn't like Kate’s but Pippa had the best bridesmaid dress ever. She looked better than Kate which was a bit unfortunate.

Not a fan of tiaras, but I thought Meghan’s bandeau style was perfect.

sammylady37 · 07/06/2026 13:37

I don’t get the love for Pippa’s bridesmaid dress tbh, it was very plain and boring.

PinkMagpie · 07/06/2026 13:39

I liked Pippa’s dress because my tastes for wedding dresses err on the side of plain. I liked Meghan’s wedding day dress - fit issues aside. If only it had fit her it would have been beautiful

My favourite is Crown Princess Victoria's. But then she's also my favourite royal (I'm British). She actually inspired me to visit Sweden (which was incredible). She is very hit and miss in the fashion stakes but she was perfect on her wedding day. The fact that she did a great job with an awkward tiara (which she kind of had to wear) is even more praiseworthy. I think most royal watchers have a fondness for this lovely lady. She would be Exhibit A if you had to evidence why royals should stay!

My second favourite is Queen Mathilde's of Belgium (although she became a Princess back then when she married in 1999). I love how comfortable she looked and it was a great winter look.

Kate (day) = pointy boobs but I like overall look
Kate (evening) = surprisingly pedestrian
Meghan (day) = poor fit but I like the overall look
Meghan (evening) = poor fit but I love the overall look (and the aquamarine ring)
Beatrice = nice idea but too short
Eugenie = loved everything, it's the best she's ever looked. Adored the tiara.
Camilla = fabulous (and very difficult to get right)
Diana = too much but just right
Sarah F = too shiny but I like her tiara
Sarah Chatto = I don't like where the sleeves meet the bodice
Sophie = awful fit and awful necklace and awful tiara (I like her though!)
Harriet = would have looked better if the train and veil were on the ground

Edit: I didn't like the boobs on Eugenie's evening dress either.

PinkMagpie · 07/06/2026 13:40

Pippa’s bridesmaids dress, to be clear! I didn’t actually like Pippa’s own wedding dress because it had too much lace for my tastes. I’m sure others loved it though

DappledThings · 07/06/2026 13:43

I've never been able to see what people do when they say Meghan's was badly fitted.

EnoughRain · 07/06/2026 13:44

I agree re Sophie’s necklace. I’m pretty sure Edward designed it, but it was bloody awful - like something a child would design.

Not2identifying · 07/06/2026 13:46

@EnoughRain Yes, he did, and I don't think it's been seen since their wedding day.

iniati · 07/06/2026 13:49

My favourites:

Camilla's blue coat dress thing - just stunning.

Eugenie's - love the necklace, the tiara, she looked very striking and it really fit and suited her

Runner up - Beatrice's. I don't 100% love the dress but the whole look was lovely

Meh on

Kate's - it's alright but given she had such a lovely figure, I think it could have been better? Felt like she played it quite safe as always

Meghan's - loved her hair and makeup and she looked beautiful but I didn't care for the fit of the dress itself

Hate

Diana's. Crumpled mess

deeahgwitch · 07/06/2026 13:53

I loved Diana’s dress (1981) Blush
I was young and I gasped when she got out of the carriage.
It was such a fairytale dress.
I didn’t realise til much later that the actual marriage was more a horror story, sadly.
I loved Sarah Chatto’s dress (1994)too.
Fergie’s (1986) was lovely also.
I wasn’t mad about Kate’s (2011) too much lace.
Similar to Grace Kelly’s dress (1956) which was beautiful on her.
I thought Meghan’s dress (2018) was lovely and sooo similar to Princess Angela of Liechtenstein’s dress (2000)

I LOVE that dress, and the veil!

Ohhhh I just googled it that is abit ks1 end-of-term craft

She might have accidentally "lost" that one in the years since!

BreadInCaptivity · 07/06/2026 14:00

My favourites were Sarah Chatto’s, Beatrice and Catherine’s in that order.

Most unflattering I thought were Diana’s and Meghan’s. The former as it was just too big for her and creased to buggery and the latter (though I loved the concept/simplicity of it) because I don’t think it fitted her that well/flattered her body shape and the material was just too stiff and boxy.

Best tiara I thought was Meghan’s, closely followed by Zara’s (love the Meander tiara).

I don’t think think any were inappropriate and
not sure there is such a thing as a awful Tiara 😂.

SisterTeatime · 07/06/2026 14:08

Lady Sarah Chatto, Princess Margaret, Princess Anne, Princess Diana are my faves, although I don’t like Diana’s train all that much. Charles and Diana’s bridesmaids were also lovely. I also like Eugenie’s dress.

I loved Fergie’s flower crown and like pp, that she went in with flowers and came out with a tiara. Not the dress though (even at the time)

I like the concept of Meghan’s dress, but it just didn’t work and I loathed the veil. Her hair was awful.

Camilla looked amazing at her wedding to Charles.

I didn’t really like Beatrice’s dress, but the nature of the whole wedding did make it very special.

This is beautiful. I liked Princess Charlene’s too. Although she was rumoured to be almost a runaway bride I think?
https://www.tatler.com/gallery/beatrice-borromeo-pierre-casiraghi-wedding

I forgot Beatrice Borromeo! She wore three different wedding dresses. All were gorgeous but this Armani was just glorious.

It didn't hurt that she has the looks and height of a grandson, that she was walking onto her family's own private island in Lake Como, and that her groom was Princess Grace's handsome grandson!

The rich really are different from you and me.

Agree. I tend to like plain dresses too rather than too fussy, but I think Pippa’s bridesmaid dress was very very boring, and wouldn’t have looked out of place at a prom. There wasn’t anything special about it, IMO.

Amiacoolorwarmcolour · 07/06/2026 07:36

Princess Margaret’s dress is my all time favourite.
I don’t think any royal bride has ever got it wrong, how can you say that?
I liked Diana’s wedding dress it was fitting at the time.
Everyone has their own preference.
I really like how royal bridesmaids usually wear cream and stick to erring on the traditional side.
I hate to see bridesmaids in cheap, ill fitting dresses and I’ve unfortunately seen many in my time. One of the reasons it’s better to stick to tradition and have children or teenagers as bridesmaids and not older, fat women. Sorry but it’s true.

Meow. True for you. My bridesmaids were larger/heavily pregnant and I was delighted they were there. They looked nice too.

You really look at this dress and see a perfect fit?
