Maybe the anniversary party took place on the day of their “real” wedding. After all, why would they celebrate a day that, by their own admission, meant nothing to them?

Starryfifty · Yesterday 21:26

You never see them out with friends or entertaining friends at home. Fair enough, friends may not want to be photographed/mentioned

Starryfifty · Yesterday 21:27

My god, she's so hungry for attention/ headlines

notimagain · Yesterday 21:29

@Choux

She could have travelled with an American airline or Swiss or even Air France, Aer Lingus, Air Canada or Austrian. But they probably wouldn’t treat her with as much deference as the UK flag carrier. Or give her a free upgrade to first.

Maybe, but it might have been more of a case of best connections (which would be required unless she'd flown with an American airline or Swiss) and then best timings on top.

BA carry a lot of passengers out of GVA that connect in LHR for the US, so whatever the reason MM certainly didn't use an unusual routing.

Why would BA give her deference?

PigglyWigglyOhYeah · Yesterday 21:32

I assumed the kids were at home because they had missed their Mommy Dearest so much they couldn't possibly go to school. Although, for all we know they might be home educated, or have parents who take a very lax approach to attendance when there is Instagram filming to be done.

Edited to correct typo.

The latest video has Harry carrying a cake while Meghan reveals his gift to her.....two intertwined penguins!!!! So special a private moment that it must be shared for millions to see and be aware of their " normal", simple life!!!

Why does the cake have 4 candles?

Is it an unseen clip from their 4th anniversary?

Irememberwhenitwasallfieldsroundhere · Yesterday 21:43

hmm, she wasn’t worried about security enough to make her avoid LHR then?

notimagain · Yesterday 21:44

Starryfifty · Yesterday 21:31

You'll have to ask those assuming BA would why they think that...

For all we know if MM travelled F class LHR-LAX it might have been legitimately paid for.

Certainly BA are pretty hard nosed when it comes to upgrades so if she was in F on an upgrade basis it might have been done on loyalty/points...(H or M have flown BA in the past so they might have legit high status.)

The VIP lounge(s) can be paid for....

Bet BA are wishing that card hadn't seen the light of day.

I think it’s for the 4 Sussexes. The Wales anniversary picture was of the 4 of them, but since the Sussexes can’t show their kids, they get symbolised in candle form.

I'm inclined to think she asked the staff to write that card. Why on earth would they just do it on a whim??

Her nonsense claim about airline staff member thanking her for leaving the RF or whatever that silliness was, was famously debunked

I do know cards got handed around for signing by the crew sometimes, but it was usually only done for something pretty significant...I don't think an 8th anniversary would normally raise an eyebrow, let alone a card being circulated.

Being cynical I wonder if either there was a M&H fan on the crew or some heavy hints were made....

And yes the claims made about crew comments on the "escape from the UK flight" have always sounded off to me.

I heard a rumour years ago that Beatrice and Eugenie always booked Premium Economy with BA, because they knew they would always get upgraded to Business. No idea if it's true but I was reminded of it when there was an exchange about booking flights for Fergie/B/E in the released emails and Beatrice & Eugenie were booked in Premium Economy.

It does all feel a bit desperate and chaotic. Despite the distraction my takeaway is still the serious important face making a speech at the roundabout.

StrawberryWasp · Yesterday 22:03

I presume M travels with some 'staff' who can quietly tell the crew it's M wedding anniversary...M then acts all surprised.

Or M casually mentions to the crew she's rushing home for her anniversary.

BA cabin crew being such huge M&H fans they've memorised their wedding date and spontaneously got them a card is definitely not what happened.

It's so cringe it's like posting when a nice restaurant puts a card on the table for you if it's your anniversary or birthday. Or when you get happy anniversary written on a plate with a candle in a cup cake.

Lunde · Yesterday 22:04

IcedPurple · Yesterday 20:53

Are 'quick pre school parties' really a thing?

Why on earth would you have a party at breakfast time, complete with cake and candles, while rushing the kids out to school? Why not wait until they're home in the afternoon?

My guess is that it was filmed and edited before her trip - ready for the news cycle.

Nope.

I would imagine cabin crew in First Class are required to be very discreet, especially when dealing with 'celebrities'. A gushing hand written card might seem 'sweet'. Or it might seem intrusive and inappropriate. Cabin crew's job is to make the passengers' journey comfortable and pleasant. Not fangirl/boy all over them. And it's not even as if this anniversary was that big a deal.

So much of what goes on with Meghan is just so odd. Which is what makes her so fascinating.

Lunde · Yesterday 22:07

AtIusvue · Yesterday 21:19

Very good point. Archie got one random pic with his sister that could be from any time. Another as him as a baby.

No video of a cake, no 20 odd photos dumped and no link to his candle (although the last one is a good thing)

Shes went completely overboard with this, that it makes her look unhinged.

It's really random to make such a huge deal of an 8th wedding anniversary

Is she trying to distract attention away from the Geneva fallout? Or is there something big brewing?

The real anniversary party took place 3 days before the spectacle for the world's consumption. Noone knows that.

I'd say they want to get in before Peter P's wedding. There'll be a slew of naff videos/ photo dumps in the run up to this.

Earlier I googled looking for the BA card because it felt like maybe it was AI or something. The search results reminded me of the time she exchanged notes with an American Airlines(?) crew which addressed them as 'girlies' (in fairness, that was what they'd called themselves flin their note to her first'). But M definitely has form for weirdness with cabin crew.
