I have only recently started reading the royal family threads.

And glad I did - thank you all for your wit and insight.

This is what stood out in what a pp said - looks like his PR team are just scratching around for opportunities to raise his profile - I don’t think he gives a flying fuck about any of the issues - he’s just getting on the bandwagon / coattails of the issue of the day.

i agree . I do actually agree with some of what he said ie Direct your protest towards Israel and not innocent Jewish people in London . And I won’t be alone in that so I am sorry that message will be lost in the midst of the criticism about him .

You’ve summed it up, it was an unremarkable ring, I imagine Meghan was expecting something far more Elizabeth Taylor, instead she was presented with something more H Samuel.

Yes, it’s a bad design.

Because Harry wanted to be sentimental (cheap) and use diamonds from his mother’s collection. But the actual stones chosen dont sit together well. The middle stone is proportionally too small in length next to the round side stones. The cushion cut as the centre stone also doesn’t sit well with the round stones. They literally don’t fit together.

It just looks a bit chunky and not elegant. He should have skipped the side stones and just kept it simple, but I guess on its own he thought it wouldn’t be enough for Meg.

What she did with the pave redesign is awful though - already looks dated. Very 2010s

Is he trying to up his own threat level again so he gets the security he wants pre Birmingham? And why isn’t he addressing anti semitism that is rife in his own back yard in the US? Whatever he’s doing, as ever, he is using the suffering of others for self promotion and self aggrandisement. Shame on him.

That is so true!

Indeed. Also wouldn't have the connection to Diana that Catherine's iconic (whether it's your taste or not) ring obviously has.
I wonder if he's had much earache from Meg for swapping it with William.

If you think anyone who is committing acts of anti-Semitism is reading what Mr Who? says, then you are sadly mistaken.
Anyone with a brain already knows Israel does not equal All Jews, it's the ones without the working brains who are committing the horrific acts.
I suspect Harry needed to have the facts explained to him in words of no more than two syllables before making the statement though....

Papercompany · 14/05/2026 09:29

I think Meghans Instagram reel with herself and the jam is terrible. Yes, she is sitting very close to the butter - her famous eye for detail letting her down once more...and she looks so uncomfortable as she gazes wistfully out the window. There's seems to be very little space there? Surely they could have found a better spot in that massive house? It's a very unflattering pose.

I'm not quite sure what she is doing with her hands at one point when she is lying back (and thinking about the jam presumably).....I think she is trying to look sexy?? It just looks a bit odd and like she's trying too hard.

It's very amateurish...very Senuous from Amandaland.

She has such a beautiful face....she could so easily sell make up or sunglasses or something like that. I suspect all the cupboards are full of jam and she and H will be eating it for a very, very long time

Just because your target isn’t listening isn’t a reason to stop saying things in my opinion. I pontificate a lot about women’s rights I suppose I just hope that sometimes a message gets through.

I suppose I just wish the message was coming from someone else and not someone doing it for clicks and making it about them

I think many people would prefer not to be lectured on anti-Semitism by a chap whose wife thought it was OK flogging clothes on a visit to the Bondi beach massacre site.

Hard agree

Completely agree @JSMill As a fellow educationalist I'd say we don't hear anywhere near enough about the massive impact early childhood experiences have on children's wellbeing and future life chances. It should be front and centre of any political social agenda and it's as important now as it's ever been.

It makes it rather ironic that her SIL Catherine is focusing on early childhood and development, doesn’t it?

Indeed.
Her very very slightly younger SiL.

Eta I realise that's not what your post was about so probably shouldn't have @-ed you.
Just making a bit of fun at the "young couple" thing.

Starryfifty · 14/05/2026 10:00

definitely a ploy to pump H up as an intellectual statesman. He's getting support from someone important for sure. His sexual assault on an Australian lifeguard and charity scandals not reported

The ‘message’ was written by someone else (the George Soros lot probably).

And this is how it’s landing this morning:

Prince Harry says his Nazi uniform ‘mistake’ made him a stronger ally to Jews

Personally I don’t think British Jews want or need ‘allies’ like Harry. It’s obvious he uses people to wash his reputation, over and over. Then he does something else wrong. And so the cycle repeats with such people: racism; drugs; bullying; violence; malicious allegations; sexual harassment; sexual assault - all he cares about is who can wash this away and simultaneously pay him for saying whatever it is he needs to say.

I agree, without sounding like a conspiracy theorist, my first thought is that Soros is behind this.

The jam will go mouldy first.

Starryfifty · 14/05/2026 10:27

But he chose to wear a nazi uniform. How does he explain how this makes him an allie to Jews ?

StrawberryWasp · 14/05/2026 10:29

I think anti semitism is an odd issue for H to unnecessarily take a stand on.

It's so divisive, and the progressive omnicause they usually try to align with is full on anti Isreal (anti Zionist/ anti Jews.)

He could really piss a lot of people off with this.
If anyone listened to him.

StrawberryWasp · 14/05/2026 10:33

If he's preempting the protests in Birmingham to Israeli soldiers involvement in Invictus he's wildly naive.

The people in Birmingham who will protest against Israelis will not give a shit about what prince Harry has to say.

Rhaidimiddim · 14/05/2026 10:34

Lunde · 14/05/2026 01:39

Trying to upstage Kate's visit to Italy.

Trying to sound like a member of the Royal Family - seems to be a new PR push from Sunshine Sachs (positioning Meghan as a lifestyle guru and Harry as an international statesman 😂😂😂)

Trying to make himself relevant to UK issues to gain more donors for Ingriftus now that Australia has pulled the plug

Trying to jump on the bandwagon .... although William and Charles have been speaking out in recent years and I don't remember hearing support from Montecito.

I've also seen the suggestion that he is trying to get ahead of the any potential problems coming from the inclusion of Israeli soldiers in the Birmingham Invictus Games.

WhatTheActualFeckityFeck · 14/05/2026 10:54

Rhaidimiddim · 14/05/2026 10:34

I've also seen the suggestion that he is trying to get ahead of the any potential problems coming from the inclusion of Israeli soldiers in the Birmingham Invictus Games.

When Israel was accepted into Invictus in 2022/23, all that H & his Invictus board probably saw was the $$$ being promised by the Israeli IDF’s team’s backers, including the Israeli government and a Russian-Israeli oligarch.

It was ridiculously, politically naive of them to think that there wouldn’t be further military actions involving the former or current Israeli-occupied territories with Bibi at the helm.

As for Harry’s speech and suddenly worrying about UN statutes and international resolutions: did he not realise any of this when he was an army captain in the Middle East? Why now?

Someone else definitely wrote that article for him, and sold it to him as a balm for Birmingham.

StrawberryWasp · 14/05/2026 11:05

There is not going to be any balm that will soothe the anger at IDF soldiers being brought to Birmingham.

It's nuts to think this will go smoothly.

Harry is going to need serious security if it goes ahead. And I probably wouldn't want to be taking my family if I were him.

Birmingham is a bonfire waiting for a match to drop. And he's playing silly games.

Marmaladelover · 14/05/2026 11:30

Just wanted to say I agree with all the above posts about Harry and his speech .

I’ll shut up now and go back to enjoying reading and being enlightened!

It shows to me how little Harry knew the woman he was marrying. Which isn't surprising as they got engaged after what was basically an extended holiday romance.

If you look at the jewellery Meghan wears, it's mostly rather dainty, itsy bitsy pieces. Not a rather clunky ring like this. And yes, I know men often don't have a clue about 'girlie stuff' but then they'd ask one of her female friends. But of course Harry didn't know any of Meghan's friends, such as they were. He barely even knew her, and now he's living with the consequences.
