I posted this about a year ago about Meghan's need to constantly reinvent herself. For someone who talks a lot about "authenticity" she seems to have no clue who the "authentic Meghan" actually is. Just since she met Harry she adopted multiple new personas some of which contradicted past claims.
... and I've probably missed a few
Nature loving Charity activist - She seemed to attract Harry by being the "boho" philanthropist and Diana 2.0. She convinced him that she loved camping trips to Africa and charity work. But that seemed forgotten as soon as the marriage certificate was signed and she never visited Harry's "beloved" Sentebale projects in 7 years or returned to "magical Botswana".
The royal "modernizer" - she was going to whip the RF into 21st century shape through "American" workplace practices, feminist mantras involving washing-up liquid, not following dress codes, ignoring hierarchy and using her royal status to make money - establishing the Sussex Royal website to merch her products. But after 72 appearances and ignoring any advice it all got too much that they took an extended holiday for a couple of months and never returned.
"Just an ordinary couple" - a very brief phase after they "found freedom" where they eschewed titles with "I'm Meghan", "just call me Harry" and we "chose not to have titles for our kids". It seems to have gone out of the window with the circling back to wanting traditional royal status - prince/princess titles for the kids, recent title merching and "don't call me Markle", faux royal overseas tours to Nigeria/Colombia - now Australia and sending gifts from HRH Duchess Meghan Sussex". Now the revelations in a news article that she has herself announced as "Meghan, Duchess of Sussex" when she enters empty rooms! 😂
Media mogul - Meghan would be the new Oprah by producing and appearing in a whole range of programming and podcasts and becoming a billionaire. The US companies threw $millions at them although there have been few successes. "Meet me at the Lake" needs to be re-named "dead in the water" as it was announced to huge fanfare in 2023 but has no director or cast in 2026. Although I'm a bit disappointed that she didn't make the "Miss Havisham as a feminist icon" drama that was in pre-production a few years' ago as it sounded hilarious. According to rumours online - Netflix has turned down the Harry and Meghan vow-renewal TV special.
Tradwife/lady of the manor - was the persona she adopted for WLM where she tries to convince us that she is digging her own veg, making jam and sending the kids to market while hosting gracious garden parties in floaty dresses and making crap, sorry crepe packet mixes with the kids which are smeared with liquid jam and pot-pourri sprinkles.
Female founder & Super Mom - she's a business woman who is selling stuff while being supermom. Although her podcast revealed little actual business knowledge beyond trite platitudes about running her business from her kitchen while packing lunches and doing school runs. She seems to have a very strange stock control system as she never orders enough so her online shop is either sold out in minutes or she has thousands of items that nobody buys. She keeps launching "special collaborations" - jam & flowers/jam and squashed chocs - but nobody seems to be buying
Lifestyle Influencer - recently she seems to have circled back to 2016 to sell herself, her lifestyle and her kids on Instagram. Strangely posed curated "lifestyle" photos, merching the clothes she wears to events online. However her foray into "wellness influencing" with the retreat was flopped and she bailed to watch rugby instead....
The constant reinvention must be exhausting .....
