I am not portraying her as a perpetual victim
I am setting out what she was up against. Not just Andrew. But an Institution. And after all, she committed suicide so it was hardly a walk in the park for her. And for the Monarchy to put out a statement more or less calling her a liar must have been truly devastating.

She is dead - largely as a result of what she endured at the hands of AMW, Epstein, Maxwell and others of their ilk.

@Ukisgaslit

I agree. To even pretend that the Palace, MI5, Security, Police, intelligence services did not have a clue who Epstein was is beyond belief. Quite laughable actually.
But of course there is a history of this.. Saville, Ball etc.
Either intelligence services are useless or the Palace chooses not to listen.

We all know (and I would love those who are more pro Monarchy than me to admit it)... if the Epstein files had not been uncovered by the US Justice Dept, if the Guardian and other media had not kept on investigating, if Epstein files had not revealed AMW passing on confidential trade docs to JE...
Andrew would still be dressing up, attending Royal functions, part of the inner circle of Royals. Charles only took action because of the public outcry.

Yes, he had lost his military patronages, and yes, he might have had to wear a suit at functions and not uniform and medals, but he would still be there and still poncing around at public events.

I think we've had definitive proof that would be the case just in recent days where he was spotted at the Sandringham carriage driving event.

Still being seen to be supported by the fam too...

I have said it before that Andrew Lownie and Norman Baker deserve public recognition for the service they have done to this country in exposing the rot at the heart of the RF.

AnnunciataM · 07/07/2026 10:53

Was it Lownie who nearly bankrupted himself trying to get information on Lord Mountbatten? He is a serious biographer; I was impressed that he spoke to over 300 sources for Entitled. He even spoke to people from B&E's schools, who revealed that Fergie's insistence that she was some kind of supermum was all nonsense as she barely visited them.

Wholeheartedly agree with this. How do we make it happen?

Decacaffeinatednow · 07/07/2026 11:05

Was it Lownie who nearly bankrupted himself trying to get information on Lord Mountbatten. Yes it was.
And for Entitled he was stonewalled at every turn trying to get information from various government bodies about AMW and his Trade Envoy role.

He spoke to over 3,000.

300 of those agreed to go on the record. And to be named

I have read the original version of Entitled. Has anyone got the newly published paperback version? He had planned to update it quite a bit as far as I remember.

I think we can all surmise she was no super mum. She allowed her dds to mix with Epstein. I wouldn’t allow my DCs to mix with him. Mind you I wouldn’t mix with him in the first place!!!!

I think he was planning on writing about the daughters but they lawyered up and prevented it.

A clue is “public event” I.e. anyone can attend. Rightly or wrongly AMW has not been charged, he has not been convicted so like any member of the public he is free to attend public events.

Family events like weddings, funerals yes

Public events like ToC, balcony appearances, Remembrance Sunday, garden parties, military parades - NO.

You cannot think he should be as present as Charles and William surely???

If he wants to stand in the crowd like the general public feel free!

I meant a public event that the general public watch. Royal events. It wasn't clear to me.

He would hardly be attending and waving a Union Jack on the Mall would he 😅

I was responding to CathyorClaire who specifically mentioned Sandringham Carriage Driving Event which is a public event where members of the general public attend,

Now that would be a sight. With his ex doing that ridiculous curtsey she does.

BillericayDickie · 07/07/2026 16:12

would he bother to go to a "public" event if it wasn't linked to the RF?

Yes, I realise the carriage driving event was open to anyone.

I was agreeing with simpsonthecat that had MW not been exposed he would still be shamelessly inserting himself into every royal event he could along with grasping centre stage as often as he could.

The fact he was present at one of the very few royal adjacent events he can now attend indicates said shamelessness persists.

I also think it's noteworthy that Ed of 'who are the victims in all this' fame was seen with him.

Apparently he was only there for a very short time and spoke to no one .
I don’t think he can be stopped leaving his house for a walk .

simpsonthecat · 07/07/2026 16:53

Maybe it's dawning on him probably not he cannot be front and centre of ANY event anymore. He needs to reflect probably won't. He did the right thing going in quietly and out quickly and that's the only credit I can give him!

At one point, before the Trade envoy disclosing confidential papers to Epstein, that he was close to being able to show his face far more. That has now gone.

Have you told Charles that ?

He has removed Andrew from his house , removed titles stopped paying for his security, banned him from going to church with the rest of the mob etc
