For all Meg and Harry PR shenanigans

Seemingly her fashion page had a million hits in the first three days.

Interesting that Meg sources state that As ever ‘is still in test-and-learn mode,” says the close source. “She wakes up thinking about new ideas and works on it all the time.”

Still in the test and learn? I thought she was launching globally.

Also new ideas? The latest ‘offering’ was just another candle and another collab with a chocolate company. Rinse repeat.

It’s clear that People are being used as a mouthpiece to show the latest rebrand- there’s zero mention of Archewell philanthropies and it’s all about keeping the royal connection.

Also clapback about her bullying:

‘While reports of high staff turnover have raised questions about the couple’s working environment, others who remain describe a different experience. “There are quite a few of us who’ve been here a long time,” says one six-year staffer. “Much of her company is made up of young women, and she really champions them. She’s always said to me, ‘Just speak up’—that’s one of her biggest things.”

Thank you for the new thread.

I believe there's a gala event tonight in NY for the King's Trust. I wonder if the likes of George Clooney will be there? Another event that the Sussexes would give their eye teeth to attend.

Indianrollerbird · Today 14:01

On the down side, I have just been watching Tom Sykes/Vintage Read, and they mentioned that Tina Brown - who has recently been advocating for the rehabilitation of Harry - had a sit down discussion with Charles & Camilla. I hope she's not part of the alleged "Project Thaw".

AtIusvue · Today 14:04

I read Anna Wintour will be at the Gala. We all know how much Meg would love the cover. I can’t see Anna ever letting that happen (even though she’s not editor anymore)

Yeah, this reads like their, "Poor misunderstood us" propaganda piece in time for King Charles's diplomatic mission.

Guest385 · Today 14:22

"Traditional moments of service" what does that even mean. Do H&M do anything that dosen't benefit themselves financially in some way?

I think the embarrassing Balenciaga episode may have put the kibosh on that happening any time soon. Not sure who the new editor is and whether she has sympathy for MM. But I'm sure La Wintour's influence is still strong.

Harry was completely relaxed—Invictus is where he belongs,” Walters says of the international adaptive sports tournament for wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans that Harry founded in 2014. “People gravitate toward him, and he knows how to make them feel special. The royal family misses out on that. It’s a sad reminder of the global platform he could have had. It’s the closest he’s going to get to continuing to serve on his own terms.”

Assuming the people article comes directly from the Sussexes, that sounds a lot like an admission that it’s Harry that is sad at the global platform he eschewed, and he misses his former role.

I was also amused at this quote about Meghan “showing up” for her friends: “It’s a side of Meghan that is often overlooked”. The writer at People clearly didn’t watch With Love, Meghan - that theme was front and centre of every episode!

Well, don't we all show up for our friends? Or at least we should. If Meghan so confident she's a good friend, why keep trying to remind us all ffs

Not2identifying · Today 14:49

“A lot is forgiven when you’re on the ground and you show up and do good work. That magic and allure of a royal doesn’t necessarily come down to a title."

This is the bit that got me attention from the People article:

  • acknowledgement that they might need forgiveness
  • acknowledgement that they might not always have titles
  • defiant commitment to the pretence that they got the half in half out they wanted because they really believe this is how they will get positive PR, how they will rehabilitate their reputations

Obviously it's a quote, not directly from H or M but interesting nonetheless.

It's all part of her main character syndrome. She can't conceive of anyone else living a life just as, if not more, useful and important than her own. She thinks it's unique to her.

Traditional royal service is service without financial gain. Harry can't afford to do that hence this article polishing the turd that his attempt to retain significance without status or respect from those with power.

MrsLeonFarrell · Today 15:06

So we know what they want us to think of them. I'm not sure if they are achieving this with sufficient numbers of people. Saying there were enthusiastic crowds isn't the same as there actually being crowds. People wheeled downstairs from wards don't count as a voluntary crowd.

LondonRidge · Today 15:15

I’m a bit behind - I’m assuming this People article is part of the planned intervention we all expected…

Look at us, look at us, look how royal we are! We don’t need you to be royal because we’re royal anyway so nerrrr

Show up and do good work? What have they done to benefit anyone else??

AtIusvue · Today 15:35

This People article hasn’t been put together overnight. It’s take. It’s taken time to get the sources. The fact that it’s been released during KCs visit just means yet again, there’s zero chance of reconciliation.

They just can’t get out of their own way and are looking really desperate now.

this is a lot of the problem. They think that everything they do is so groundbreaking and unique from falling in love, having kids , supporting friends etc. I remember Harry's comment about the seals in scotland singing to Meghan because even they could see how special she was. He didn't get it that everyone in the first throws of falling in love feels like that about their beloved.
It is the same with the kids..no.one else has such special kids ( especially lili) and can parent like them. Again it is typical of parents of young kids to feel all that and there is nothing wrong with it but they seem stuck in that phase or at least trying to present the illusion of still being besotted and the perfect family etc. It is wearing !

jeffgoldblum · Today 15:41

Hello 👋 @AtIusvue! , saw this yesterday, clearly mainstream media decided not to pander to Harry this time!

Such terrible form but as predicted, they had to do something. Yes, we are still royal waaahh

Recklessismymiddlename · Today 15:43

@jeffgoldblum That reads to me that BP have firmly shut down a meeting directly to the Sussexes and Harry had to get in there with his statement.
