Love the V&A too. I saw Kylie’s glittery shorts! I wasn’t there for that though, honest …

Kylie was on tv many moons ago and said those glitter hot pants were purchased in a charity shop!

Charlotte's bridesmaid dress was awful. I still don't understand why it was so bad, she was just a little girl.
The one she wore at Eugenie's wedding was perfectly fitted.

I personally think Meghan is so bloody spiteful she "altered" the dress herself to make sure Charlotte's dress looked so awful. There isn't a low that woman won't stoop to.

Anyone see the video of Harry smacking the lifeguards ass ? Immature boys locker room ‘humor’ on full display at a public event, shame the guy didn’t turn around and punch him.

I loved Diana’s dress at the time, although she had the wrong figure for it, too booby. But it was, and is, iconic. Very few wedding dresses are so unique that everyone remembers them.

SF’s was lovely on the day but unmemorable. The other one that sticks in my mind is Princess Anne’s. It was very fashion forward.

I remember Sarah's mostly in contrast to Diana's. I agree about Anne. The other really memorable dresses for me was Sarah Armstrong Jones' because it was such a strong reflection of her style and Sophie's because she too lost weight and it was rather loose fitting, like Meghan's. Sophie was also memorable for the necklace Edward had designed

It's quite shocking however if lifeguard dared to complain, it would be spun as his fault for having his arse near Harry's hand 🙄

The wedding dress that stood out for me (not Royal though) was the current Earl Spencer's first wife, Victoria.

At the time I thought it was ghastly. But I LOVE it now. Medieval Princess and she was (is!) such a beauty IMO.

FallenNight · Yesterday 10:28

I just googled that one @MookieCat I love it. I always dreamed of a medieval wedding dress, used to design them as a kid. Then went all BRIDE when I got married and got a very standard of its time lace confection. It was gorgeous, but very different from the dream of my childhood.

One of my friends married in a gold silk medieval princess type dress about 25 years ago. I did not know her then but recently saw pictures. She looked spectacular.

I got married 20 years ago and had a pale pink version of the little black dress. I keep meaning to get it dyed an emerald colour so I can wear it as a cocktail frock but I'm 3 stone heavier sadly.

A cousin's wife had one that sounds like that (gold and medieval style). She was quite late to the church because she and her maid of honour hadn't realised how long it would take to do up all the tiny buttons at the back without the seamstress there 😃
It was worth it though - it looked amazing.

Funny how tastes differ. I thought both she and the dress looked awful. I thought Sarah AJ’s dress was beautiful. So elegant.

Wrong figure? "Too booby"?
Check out Diana's engagement pictures, then her wedding pictures.
The Emanuels were taking the dress in and refitting it every week in the run up to the wedding, she was losing so much weight.

Yes but she looked very squished in the bosom area. As did her bridesmaid (Sara Chatto?). It just wasn’t the right shape. Diana looked amazing in shift dresses. But at the time of her wedding frou frou was the look.

I think that Diana's dress would have looked so much better without the huge puff sleeves. The giant sleeves with the ruffles, lace and bow made her look like a bulky American footballer.

Just replacing them with straight sleeves of the lace or silk would have made a huge difference. Personally I would have not had the bow on her boobs either.

HelenaWilson · Yesterday 18:21

I think that Diana's dress would have looked so much better without the huge puff sleeves.

But big sleeves were the style at the time. And the frock would have looked out of proportion with small sleeves and that big full skirt.

(Anyone now thinking of Anne Shirley desperately wanting a dress with puffed sleeves before they went out of fashion?)

Absolutely this! We all wanted puff sleeves. The puffier the better!

SAJ looked lovely but my favourite royal bride was Serena Linley. It was such an elegant dress.

HelenaWilson · Yesterday 18:40

And Diana was tall. She was able to carry it off as a small woman wouldn't.

HelenaWilson · Yesterday 18:45

I hadn't seen that before. My immediate thought was that the bodice very much resembled Princess Margaret's dress.

The whole thing was a copy of Princess Margaret's, but over the top. Huge skirt, strange satin tail coat thing, massive up do. Not my favourite and it overwhelmed her, imo.

HelenaWilson · Yesterday 18:56

Princess Margaret had a big skirt, but not that overskirt with the net curtain under. That was too much. Margaret's dress was quite simple and unfussy.

Exactly. The designer looked at Margaret's, but overdid it.

JSMill · Yesterday 19:04

I got mixed up! I didn’t mean Serena Linley, I meant Lady Helen Windsor. I particularly liked the neckline.

OctopusFriend · Yesterday 19:16

Oh yes. Definitely better than Serena Snowdon's.

HelenaWilson · Yesterday 19:22

Lady Helen is so like the late Duchess.

Very similar, and also an elegant woman.

LaMarschallin · Yesterday 19:45

Hadn't seen either Serena's or Helen's before.
Really don't like Serena's and, despite her tiara being on straight, her hairstyle being asymmetric makes it look like she’s wearing it at an inappropriate jaunty angle.
