Why is he getting involved in this, especially with his father's upcoming US visit

Making things difficult for Pa, the little stirrer.

I agree. H is constantly away when he doesn't need to be. A and L are still so young and they are away so often.

His parents were constantly away and even though he criticised this, he is repeating the pattern. Being away from your kids is his normal. His childhood was very fractured even before Diana died. Boarding school from eight and living in so many different palaces/castles/houses. He had no stability or roots.

I think this is largely true.

DH was sent away at 7 and his mum and dad were both in the foreign service. He and his siblings (younger) spent holidays and exeats with their aunt and grandparents.

I know it is 'normal' for so many. But DH when our first DS was born (and DS1 has very complex disabilities) was completely clueless about what it meant to be a hand on father. He had no paradigm for it. Just recently I said to Dh that he needs to teach DS1 how to shave because that's what fathers' do. He was befuddled. I KNOW not everyone who has a parent who went to boarding school is like that- but DH was. He was just all at sea. So I watched youtube videos about teaching a boy to shave and then walked DH through it and then stepped back so DS1 thought it was his dad teaching him.

Yes, and even though both of her sons were away at boarding school, Diana didn't even spend much time with them. That final summer she was on Dodi's yacht, then away with other friends.

Completely OT I get irritated every time an Emmanuel is wheeled at a royal wedding to comment on the frock. They did such a poor job with Diana you would think they would just fade away rather than pretend to be the last word in wedding style.

That was a wedding of convenience for one party at least. I went to school with Liz. Her father was stinking rich and they had an enormous house in Hampstead. What other aspiring designer who had just left art college would instantly be set up in their own West End studio/shop with little need to balance the books? That’s what appealed to David as Liz wasn’t really his type! He was absolutely hateful to her when they split up.

I remember how we were all told in the 90s that Diana was a child focused, hands on parent. We would judge her parenting very differently these days.

Absolutely. At the time there was a lot of negative press content about how little she actually saw her sons. Remember they broke up in July and she wasn't scheduled to see them until September.
She certainly made sure that she was photographed when she was with them, mind

Exactly this. She seems to entirely lack a soul to me.

I once googled something like ‘born without a soul’ whilst trying to make sense of a close relative and Google came back with lots of information on psychopaths. They were spot on as a later found out.

That's interesting. Probably not the best idea to give such a massive job to relatively inexperienced designers.

I'm not at all surprised

David does the British version of ‘say yes to the dress’ on TV.

TheAutumnCrow · 24/04/2026 11:35

So we can say now that Diana’s wedding dress was a crushed meringue mess with a shit collar? Not too soon?

I loved it.

Jellybelly80 · 24/04/2026 16:44

I loved it.

It was incredible and set a completely new trend in wedding dresses. The whole ensemble looked amazing in the Cathedral. Copies got snapped up! It was very much of it's time.

The Soros machine appears to be behind him, on this visit at least. Redditt sleuths claim that Open Ukraine is an offshoot of Soros's Open Society.

if I understand correctly, Soros is anti-facism and anti-monarchy. It would make sense that Soros would sponsor this move, a week before Trump meets the King.

If this is the case, then the RF is no longer playing chess against H, who thinks they're playing draughts like him. They are in a long-game chess match with another master player, and H is currently a mere pawn.

They did well, though. Their shop was incredibly popular. All the rufffled dresses, lacy collars and romantic look really took off. It was just poor management that ended it. They were successful with that trend.

I was eight when Charles and Diana married. I thought the dress was the most beautiful thing in the world 😍 and how that spencer tiara too! But I remember really disliking Diana’s hair as it wasn’t princessy enough for my liking.

Me too! I loved her hair though. I remember sitting in the hairdresser’s getting my hair cut just like Lady Di and the radio announcing that Princess Anne had a baby girl.

Might I point out that Mark Toth warned Harry about this in his article 2 years ago.

I am not a Trump fan at all but I thought he responded well to Harry's latest dig.

Doubt if Harry read that. It's got big words like 'preemptively' and 'disingenuously'. And I don't suppose he's ever heard of Joseph Conrad.

I think Trump said or intimated he’s recently spoken to Charles so maybe ‘amused paternal patience’ was rehearsed as a diplomatic scenario, plus Trump probably knew he’d be asked the question. He actually did sound amused. Trump knows he can chuck Harry out on a whim, but is presumably doing Charles a favour keeping him in CA? I think that kind of power gives Trump a warm feeling inside.

Strange days.

It does all make Harry look like a massive berk.

No way really? I remember him on a CBB a good few years ago, he didn't exactly come across well, boring & full of his own self importance

I LOVE couture, especially weddings (I practically lived in the V&A when I lived in London) & I was so disappointed with Diana's dress looking back, everything was wrong
