PR Disasters of the The Duke and Duchess of Sussex continued :

  • So far we have Meg using charity events/sick children/vulnerable adults to merch her fashion, with the launch of her new fashion platform
  • She will be appearing on MasterChef Australia
  • Harry claiming to have had therapy when Archie was born, even though he never sought MH help for his ill wife a few short months earlier.

She really is Mergie isn’t she, actually charging the public for a picture.

Papercompany · 15/04/2026 18:12

Why do they 'announce their Tour' if they are private citizens?

I think shaking hands and touching lots of sick children one after the other is terrible - basic hygiene practices being ignored for 'royalty'...these kids wouldn't know who they are surely?

Selling her outfits that she has worn is dreadful - really tacky.

She may have a title but she does not act in a royal way... I really do think the RF should remove titles from all but the direct line to the throne.

I don't know where to start with the Girls Retreat...a group selfie for cash?! What sort of person would actually pay this?!

A MasterChef judge.... seriously? Her skills extend to putting packaged snacks from one bag into another?

Fascinating to follow but the RF must be disgusted with them.

MrsLeonFarrell · 15/04/2026 18:31

Rebecca English has written an article but it's behind a paywall.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 15/04/2026 18:34

I thought the "retreat" tickets included a photo with Meghan, though admittedly it's a group one and I believe this only applies to the more expensive, "VIP" ticket

So what's this extra charge for ... an add-on for the cheaper seats, or (god forbid) an opportunity to be photographed with her individually?

Thank you @MrsLeonFarrell and @Puzzledandpissedoff .

I think RE's hit the nail on the head in that they obviously need to earn money. But they're doing it by replicating a Royal tour , using their titles and earning money off what look like philanthropic visits. If they'd just gone over and done the retreat or Harry's speeches , not such a big deal methinks. But the whole thing hinges on Harry being Prince Harry and the Royal Dukedom. If BP think they have to roll with it , not great. If they're giving them enough rope to hang themselves - different matter. That hospital visit with the affiliated clothing links though gives them a fair few feet of rope. I am sure Albert Pierrepoint could have told us how much more rope is needed 😊

So basically the Palace won’t do anything through fear of upsetting them, pathetic.

TheAutumnCrow · 15/04/2026 19:04

And frankly, why does it matter if bloody Harry and Meghan feel an increased ‘sense of grievance’? And what? Who cares?

Exactly! Nobody gives a fuck about their grievances! Charles is a pathetic wet lettuce, he really is.

Indianrollerbird · 15/04/2026 19:35

The stupid King doesn't realise that this "tour" is allowing them to re-write the history of their 2018 tour. They can claim that tour went wrong because of palace involvement, the rigidity of the RF; while this one is all wonderful and joyous because they are unfettered by actual duty, protocol and good taste. They are shaping their alternative Royal Court in their own tacky image. Charles is leaving William a fantastic fucking legacy of complacency here. He's clearly learned nothing from the debacle of his odious brother and toad of a wife.

And in fact by giving Harry free rein, Charles isn’t doing him any favours. Look at the mess he’s got into with his expensive court cases, and his charities. Harry’s damaging and wasting the time of a lot of people who don’t deserve it while Charles waits for, well, whatever it is that Charles is waiting for.

Except that the previous Royal Tour was mostly thought to have been successful. I’m not so sure that the reunion comeback is.

Yes, the tour was as far as the public knew at the time very successful.

All the negative stories that have come out since then have been about behaviour behind the scenes.

Thank you. At this stage I believe the palace would be well advised to remove them from the website completely. Beyond that though I think they should watch and wait. No one important is confused as to where Harry and Meghan sit in terms of status and influence. As the article says the public have made up their minds about them. At this point the not they cos play royals the more pathetic and desperate they seem.

Is anyone really looking at them and thinking important politically influential royalty? I really really doubt it. Whilst the karma of Charles removing titles etc would satisfy some I don't think it is a wise precedent to set. They are this generation's Fergie, less relevant and more ridiculous with every year away from working royal status

I suspect that there are genuine concerns about Harry's mental health.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 15/04/2026 19:47

The comments section is worth a read, the opinions here are reflected there, apart from the few inevitable sugary posts. The Palace refusing to listen to people who support them coupled with the King’s weak and pathetic attitude to them disregarding the Sandringham agreement will be their downfall, support for the King is dwindling rapidly.

Not really. It's the source of much of the bullying claims against Meghan. They behaved badly towards the local dignitaries and their staff. They were offensive towards the women in the Fiji market, and from UN Women.

flapjackfairy · 15/04/2026 19:53

I feel for Archie. It is already the narrative that his mother wanted to kill herself whilst pregnant with him. And now his father is wanging on about being disassociated from him and struggling with parenthood.
the poor kid doesn't need to know any of that never mind it being served up.for public consumption as a money making opportunity.
They should have insulated him completely from all that.

What is different this time though is this is literally a “royal tour” whilst simultaneously selling selfies and clothes worn whilst royalling, as far as I can tell they have not done both on their other faux royal tours, this is a first and this is what has enraged people. If they had visited Australia to do her pay per play girls weekend and Harry speaking at some paid for corporate event I can understand the Palace just rolling their eyes, but this Australia tour has crossed a line and broken the Sandringham agreement in plain sight and as they know they have got away with it watch out for them pushing it even further, mark my words this is just the beginning.

I know it's annoying that Harry keeps banging on about it when he clearly doesn't know anything much. But watching from the outside I believe there are signs he really isn't very stable and I wonder if the palace actually have cause for concern and want to tread carefully.

TheAutumnCrow · 15/04/2026 20:05

Harry will be setting up his own honours system next, selling ‘HRH Prince Henry Royal Medals for Service’, with red, white and blue ribbons. You can buy bronze, silver or gold tiers.

Meghan will give a speech in your honour. If you pay her enough, she won’t.

They could award their own Sussex warrants, to companies who pay them enough of course…….

They aren't there at the invitation of the government. They aren't meeting with key politicians. It really isn't a Royal tour, just a weird mix of commercial and "Charity" and getting photos with people they consider worthy. They are basically Angelina Jolie with a title, except they need to earn money at the same time and she doesn't.

I suspect that people are waiting to see the outcome of the tour before deciding if something needs to be said. The government were quick to step in and make it clear they have no official status when they went to Nigeria so I assume the lack of statement means they don't think people will be confused and will know they only represent themselves.

And what can be done? You can't make a law against visiting hospitals and merching the frock you wore. Any statement from the palace is rehashing the original one. Only the government can say anything and they don't seem worried.

There’s talk of possible product collaboration with Masterchef! 🤦‍♀️
