Not sure if its been posted already but the schedule for the hotel event is so badly thought out that its inevitable it will be a disaster. Check in is at 3pm friday but the gala proceedings start at 4pm with the main event starting at 5 with meghans speech. (Presumably meghan will then leave and be nowhere to be seen for the whole rest of the weekend.)

How is it even going to be possible to get (supposedly) hundreds of people through a security screening, checked in and to their rooms within an hour, let alone expect them to be dressed and ready for a gala on top of that?

Bear in mind also that the standard tickets were a shared room, potentially with a complete stranger, so the getting ready time will be even longer in that case with only one bathroom. Its completely nuts. I've never heard of a gala taking place so early. You'd want it to be at least 7 if you actually want to have a drink and get ready leisurely.

Well according to a video by “Gemma” alcohol is high on the list! , I’m assuming everyone will obviously be too legless to notice, care or complain!

Just had a thought - is this the template of their new business strategy to go country to country - around The Commonwealth - doing a 5 day merch tour - same formula - children’s hosp photo op, woman’s charity, veterans, MH conf, TV special guest, another commercial venture - all wrapped up with links to outfits and other merch - maybe there are plenty of countries to lap it all up - the individual hosps, charities, veterans assoc, MH orgs, TV shows etc would each net benefit enough from the PR exposure that H&M generate - so plenty small ventures would be up for it.

Bit like a traveling circus, fun fair - always grotesque and tacky but still enough grubby $$$ changing hands to make it viable.

Oh yes, just like a travelling circus: a travelling show to entertain the locals in exchange for money. See the Royal Motormouth! Be amazed at the Zoolander Walk Lady! Gasp at their recklessness and join them for thrills and spills galore with Ring Master, Lairy Liam!

Coming soon to a gullible corporate organisation near you

I think Meghan will be catching the night flight back to LA straight after her gala appearance which is why it's all so early.
Wonder how long and how much Invictus is prepared to pay for these jaunts.

That was the first thing I spotted on the agenda - the MM bit was on the Fri and far too early …. If it was on the Sat they could have built anticipation - that’s what you do with the any headline act - you generate a vibe of everyone looking forward to it - now it will be over before half of them have checked in - then the whole mood of the weekend is downhill - a damp squib……

Oh no ! She owes Markus and must make a showing at the soho house opening! ( whether we are privy to this adventure is unclear!)

It’s not due to physically open yet - although she could be doing a meet and greet to recruit members - leaving a little bundle of her UPFs and tat that she flogs online on a side table like she did at one of the LA Soho House - bit like a coffee morning with a MLM school mum

I do apologise if someone else has mentioned this, and I am repeating stuff, but I only just thought of it, and want to get it down while I'm still thinking of it.

King - then Prince - Charles was a guest on Australian Masterchef. I don't watch it anymore, but this particular year, 2018, they took the competitors an a tour and part of it was in the Northern Territory where they had to cook a spread for Charles using local and indigineous ingredients. It was for an event at the Royal Flying Doctors Service based in Darwin and Charles actually appeared, tried the food I think and chatted away.

Camilla was there, and earlier she had been heard on the phone, or face timing - can't remember - chatting away to George Columbaris (I think) about the types of things Charles liked.

So of course Meghan would jump at the chance.

I’ve said in previous posts that this “tour” is just the start, it will be the commonwealth next.

Generally children cry when the parents leave! Not when they return, I make no further comment! ( you deserve no such familiarity or notice! 😉)

It’s not unusal for children to cry when parents return as a response to the stress they’ve felt of the seperation from parents. But I’m just hear to find out what dumb and dumber have been up to down under.

pepperminticecream · 16/04/2026 05:46

StrawberryWasp · 15/04/2026 20:22

The way H talks about his children is quite disturbing. Children are not upgrades, they are unique individual human beings in the same way every child who ever existed is. Each generation isn't an upgrade on the last one. What would that mean?: they are more intelligent? more moral? more creative? happier?

This view reveals an underlying belief in the constant progress of humans beings being improved upon, rather than the belief in an essential consistent human nature. This itself is quite dangerous, but quite prevalent and it's leading to ideas such as transhumanism and eugenic approaches to foetus selection.

Totally dim H though thinks his upgrade is being brought about by his amazing parenting due to his therapy.

The fact that he thinks that guarantees to me that he's actually being a shit parent ,caught up in the hubris that because he's found the new shiny way to be great he can make his children great. A terribly destructive idea for children

This approach to parenting is currently rife and he's bought into it. The current generation of parents do seem to believe they are better parents than their parents were and so their kids are going to be just great. In reality this totally ignores the data that the kids are now more unhappy, more medicated, more fearful and less engaged in life than any othergeneration.

This therapeutic ,self absorbed, self congratulatory, parenting as a self validation tool, is making children miserable and ill.

Yes it's good that we no longer smoke around children, make them wear seatbelts and don't leave them outside pubs with a packet of crisps for hours, but we've also isolated them, removed opportunity for free unsupervised play with friends, pressurised them to achieve academically, scheduled all their free time (so they can go to clubs and be upgraded) and removed them from wider family structure and isolated them from grandparents.

In fact one of the key factors in childhood resilience is a wide family network around you. Particularly relationships with grandparents and an older generation. It provides children not only with more people to love them, but crucially forms their identity, and opens up new learning social and general experience and knowledge. This is true even if the grandparents are a bit shit (not true if their abusive).

So H is actually engaging in a key parenting approach which actively harms his children, while congratulating himself on what a fantastic parent he is, and how his children will be 'upgraded' because of it.

It's a vile way to view children

I’ve been following along this thread but haven’t posted yet. I just had to say thank you @StrawberryWasp for your post. I have very young children and your post highlighted a couple things that I am going to change about my parenting (more unstructured play and outdoor time and encouraging my MIL to visit more often.)

Also spot on about the overly therapised parenting now where parents think they are doing so much better but the stats say otherwise. I’ve seen it firsthand within my local mums group and it’s shocking how unhappy so many tiny children are while their parents talk about how they are better from their own parents because “I’ve done the work.”

Why is anyone engaging with their nonsense though? That’s what I don’t understand. What’s in it for the hospitals and charities? Why do members of the general public care ?

I agree but what about the people who have paid to have ‘access’ to her?

OctopusFriend · 16/04/2026 05:55

Yes, I agree, @pepperminticecream . It's all too common. I think @StrawberryWasp 's point about using children for personal validation is very true, as is the over therapeutic nature of this kind of parenting, and using the children as an extension of your ego.
Very damaging indeed.

It's a peculiar money making venture in many ways, I can't fathom how it's a long term plan.

That's interesting, @Tezza1 about Meghan copying Charles and Camilla.
I think this whole "Commonwealth tour" is very hypocritical, bearing in mind how they have criticised The Commonwealth in the past, while clearly misunderstanding what it is. Of course.

Perhaps it's another poke in the eye to the RF - didn't the late Queen appoint Harry (and later Meghan?) to be Commonwealth Youth Ambassadors? She wouldn't have taken that step lightly and obviously thought they'd be an asset. I think they're sticking two fingers up with any Commonwealth 'tours'.

Yes, and wasn't that potentially a great role for them? What an honour from the late Queen, who loved the Commonwealth. Think what could have been done with that amazing opportunity.
Wouldn't make them money, though.
