Completely agree. They will both have been very skilled in exaggerating successes and downplaying or outright lying about failures, because that's what you need to do to get ahead in that world, and they will have spotted it in each other. It's part of the game, the MO. I'm sure there will have been something approaching friendship there too, as young and glamorous women of a similar age going out drinking and socialising (and the rest), but they will both have recognized that ruthless streak in each other. All's fair in love and war! I don't think I would want to read too much about it though, I'm pretty sure it'll be grubby, tacky behaviour.

“Grubby and tacky” behaviour I agree - they both also looked grubby and tacky - far to much make-up and really trailer trash outfits - they both looked so dated and cheap on their nights out. No a dribble of style between them.

A very odd set of photos. What is the message they are trying to convey? If it’s a marketing strategy it’s a very odd one.

ThePoshUns · 18/03/2026 18:48

The way she laughs ‘Archie’ is so like the Michael Pavano skits of her on insta.

Some of the camellias arrive in bud form only. No stem. You float them in water seemingly. . But she’s used julep cups. Why? No idea.

Ah, I was just in a charity shop this afternoon and admired some sort of ice cream coupé glasses thinking they were the wrong shape for flowers. Now I realise I could float a camellia head in them. They’d definitely look better than hers. But if they arrive in bud form they should be on a reasonable length of fairly stiff stalk that can be arranged into a vase - my grandmother had a glorious camellia in Cornwall and always had vases of them around the house. No artistic talent required. A bit of oasis and an attractive receptacle and Bob’s your uncle.

The Times thoughts on the Variety article
Are Meghan and Harry in a jam?

I do wonder if they have struck a weird deal over the kids. Harry wanted to keep them both away from the internet, Meghan wanted to use them both for marketing purposes, so the compromise is that 50% of their off-spring can be used for merching and the other 50% retain their privacy,

Anyway, whatever batshit arrangement there is, it’s making me feel very uncomfortable. Firstly that it looks like one child is being blatantly favoured over another, and secondly because this little girl is being trotted out more and more often online by the people who are supposed to protect her.

OtherS · 18/03/2026 19:34

That face hiding thing is so creepy - just pixelate if you really must use the poor kid this way. It must be so confusing for her. How on earth can Harry be ok with this?

AtIusvue · 18/03/2026 19:42

She thinks hiding their faces protects their privacy. But putting intimate moments with mummy on insta….is breaching their privacy!

I went to a posh wedding once that the couple had catered themselves and the centre pieces for each table were glass bowls, floating flowers and floating candles. Very effective (and very cheap)

I know a family like this, dad does everything with the boy and mum with the girl. Decisions everything - it's like being a single parent.

Indianrollerbird · 18/03/2026 20:06

Variety were feting Meghan a couple of years back. She was on their Women of Power honoree list in 2022? It's got to sting that they have turned on her.

I wonder why Meghan isn't "collabing" with her actor friend, Abigail Spencer, who has a flower business she's previously promoted. I assume she needs a large scale seller to get rid of the Netflix sprinkle mountain.

And now she's collabing with an Aussie tax dodger (in administration since November, no less). There's that freakish attention to detail again.

TheAutumnCrow · 18/03/2026 20:23

ThePoshUns · 18/03/2026 10:39

She’s more infamous than famous these days. No brand wants to be associated with her.

Even being associated with royalty nowadays doesn’t mean classy or expensive.

Norway, the UK, Monaco and Spain (for example) aren’t ‘all that’ in the internet age. There are some members, married-ins and associates who quite frankly project ‘cheap’.

Cheap looks, shoddy values, poor behaviour, grotty friends, crap money management and appalling judgement pervade their ‘houses’. And it can’t be hidden, thanks to the wider media.

‘Classy’, in any kind of genuine sense, now seems to involve looking to talented, renowned writers and artists in the creative and academic fields who use their abilities and status wisely to assist others. My list would include Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.

I think you are right. But I suspect they( NF ) were a little blindsided by the Oprah / Spare things and also thought M&H might have something more to give. I do wonder if in their heart of hearts they thought they over bid. Which would account for Ted Sarandos saying in public M is not to be underestimated. He has to look good in front of investors. The Hermes blanket comment I think is a complete nonsense - as I understand it they (Hermes ) do some things in short runs to keep up the exclusivity . I would bet a guinea to a pint of oranges that blanket had sold out before the series even aired. Or if not , they weren't making any more because M had one to sell more . I'm not sure she's their idea of a muse. Not in the sense of Jane Birkin or Grace Kelly.

As ever - just my thoughts.

These blankets sell out because Hermes makes you buy thousands of dollars before offering you a Birkin or any coveted bag.

In fact, hardly anything Meghan wears sells out, at least since Megxit. And the few times it happened it turned out it was a item from past seasons. There was speculations that's the only freebies she gets offered.

OMG - don’t mean to derail the thread but I’ve recently gone down a massive rabbit hole on the ‘Hermes Game’.

There’s a fascinating thread on Reddit for it.

People are spending up to $30,000 on other Hermes products so that they get the privilege of being offered the chance to buy one of the statement bags - and they often don’t even get to choose the colour - and they will first be offered one of the smaller statement bags, if they accept it and buy it - usually for $$$$$ then at a later date they might be offered the chance to buy a Birkin - but again they’ll be offered one option with no say in what colour or trim it has - absolutely bonkers.

$255 plus $35 shipping. So $290 for flowers that will last 3/4 days as per the instructions and some tea and honey…that don’t compliment each other in flavour (sage and peppermint?)

Shameless. Using Lili to promote the newest collab

There’s a video too. Archie’s name is mentioned. …but strangely you never see him. Lili enters the video, with a strategically placed peony over her face. Then just like Variety says…she leaves the video rolling but walks away to attend to the kids. She’s a working mom remember.

This child is 4?????? 👀

corblimeyguvnr · 18/03/2026 21:11

I've just seen the video - it's a bit more every time isn't it - except for Archie? I recall a poster on here suggesting there was some issue around Archie appearing in things. It did cause controversy at the time. BUT this seems so sexist ! It's flowers, it's jelly it's the girls. She may as well hand Lilli the washing up liquid . 🙄

We can't know if Harry is okay with this, but they're Meghan's children too and would YOU want to be the one insisting that she couldn't do something ... especially if you were in Harry's position where his usefulness in opening doors appears to be over?

Papercompany · 18/03/2026 21:17

It's an odd video...so staged - using the kids to sell...what exactly?

I'd love to hear from these kids in 15/20 years time.

Gordon Bennett. That's very very expensive. & yes I think to @Lunde - flower distributors use local places who can stock the flowers. Camellias shipped relatively long distances with glass jars sounds beyond a stupid idea. Maybe Camellia channels Chanel - so classic , upmarket? Tell that to the person who gets a few broken brown stained blooms in a cardboard box. I once had a bouquet sent to me from Moyses Stevens. To be fair it was during a heatwave. They arrived looking wilting and not dreadfully nice. I know the person would have spent a lot on them ( not $290 a lot but they aren't cheap) . I phoned MS and they sent a replacement free of charge . I wonder if M will be doing this. Or will these limited editions be couriered round to the likes of Ted S and his wife , Oprah etc as an early Easter present to best friends (too harsh ? 😂)

Eyes being opened at last. A lot of us saw it at the engagement interview and were termed racist. I saw a woman, who had the potential, to isolate her df/dh from his family. If Harry had been Harriet and Meghan was a man, people would have seen this as emotional abuse from earlier on I think.
