The thing about PR is that for the vast majority of people it hangs on very fleeting impressions. The vast vast vast majority of people aren't on threads like this, or even doing much more than skimming DM articles about it. They're only seeing headlines and images.

So they're not picking up the nuances of security battles. They're either reacting "that prick again" or "how unfair".

And what I tend to see (for example, from my disinterested husband) is "that prick again".

Yes - keeps freezing and my PC fan goes mad. I thought it was my computer.

I thought it was my computer. I've tried using Edge and Chrome, but they are both as bad.

I've only tried Chrome as I don't want to disable my adblocker on Edge, so glad you told me that. Odd there's not more complaint about it then, if it's a problem with the site. I can just copy the url and paste it into a new tab, and it's fine for a while. Though some threads seem to be worse than others, bizarrely.

I agree, most people simply don't think any the situation deeply. At the moment with am that is going on I can't see anyone being that interested in Harry coming back. I disagree with them that Andrew has given him an opening. If Harry was better at PR maybe but he simply doesn't have the character and patience Camilla or Sophie has to row out negative headlines and gain respect through their quiet focus on their causes.

Plus I don't think the palace trust Harry, every time he meets the King information leaks. They don't need him in the Royal roster and i feel the risks outweigh any benefit.

And this is assuming he wants to come back into the Royal family, as opposed to simply getting free security when he's here. I don't see any evidence he wants to be a working royal again. He thinks he still is!

Mylovelygreendress · 26/03/2026 13:59

Can anyone honestly see Meghan in the Royal fold ever again ? I doubt if she will set foot on the U.K. .

Ballah · 26/03/2026 14:02

RecoIIectionsMayVary · 26/03/2026 11:14

I don't believe that.

PH has upset Royalists. It is the Royalists that line the streets, go to ribbon cutting.

The only way he would be welcomed back by the public is to do what Camilla has done. Turn up and ask for nothing, and I don't think either have the personality for that.

I agree.

The only way he would be welcomed back by the public (not even sure about the family) is as a broken divorcee.

Maybe this is a RF contingency and they recognise that he would be even more of a loose cannon in those circumstances?

bluegreygreen · 26/03/2026 14:24

I was trying to report factually what they said, but it did feel ill-informed to me @TheAutumnCrow.

I know they are only dealing with the PR aspect, and as someone said, the general public don't think very deeply about these things, so perhaps they wouldn't be expected to be factual about Harry's security. However, I think I would have expected them to discuss the 'clap-backs' from their spokesperson and the effect they have on the public, when talking about the Sussexes' PR strategy.

(Simon Lewis has left the podcast, BTW. It's not yet clear who will replace him - they've had a few different co-presenters with DY.)

I would be surprised if Meghan comes back to the UK.

I will not be surprised if Harry has a base in the UK in the next year or two, and between them they have a version of 'half-in/half-out', with Harry doing 'half-in'.

Mylovelygreendress · 26/03/2026 15:10

But what could he do @bluegreygreen? No way he will be allowed to undertake Royal duties especially if William is in charge.

I had this on the website on my phone a while ago! The app was fine ! , I googled and it was suggested that I go into my settings and find the mn settings in safari and totally clear the cache and history, I did this and it worked immediately! Apparently mn puts an awful lot of cookies and other things that slow down the browser.

And this
But early signs show Australians aren’t all that excited about their visit. Though the girls’ getaway retreat was immediately billed as “sold out”, it wasn’t. As I reported, you could still register last week “just in case” tickets became available; two sources I know did so and were granted tickets within hours.

EXCLUSIVE: Meghan Markle’s ‘Sold Out’ Sydney Event Isn’t Sold Out

My insider registered for tickets on Sunday and got an offer within hours — so much for ‘thousands of applications’

And despite several respected publications recounting allegations of unreasonable employment practices from the Sussexes.

I'm not sure @Mylovelygreendress, but I could imagine him having a base on a royal estate for several months of the year, carrying out engagements (not 'official' Royal ones) with his charities, and spending the rest of the year in California.

I may, of course, be totally wrong.

'speaking about mental health in the workplace, despite never holding a nine-to-five job'

I like Paula Froelich's stuff - she's a bright and witty woman. I think that's why I'm loving her 'couldn't be assed to check the grammar' moment in her Times article. ' ... they was booed ...'

I've got visions of Alan Sugar now telling H&M: 'bloody hopeless, the pair of you - you're fired'.

So unreasonable in fact that some employees reported that they had to seek professional mental health support to recover from the emotional abuse inflicted on them at work by H&M.

That old scarcity marketing tactic the one MM uses to clam her UPFs and tat are sold out in under an hour after each drop.

Oh, this is fascinating.

Please let somebody orchestrate, say, ticket requests from about 50 different email addresses, totalling about 250 tickets... and then write an article about the results?

I agree that H might be feeling a bit isolated. & maybe , cynically, they clearly are trading on his title so any relevance , however slight to the RF won't do them any harm. So it might suit both of them if H comes and spends time over here. The problem is I think they're a busted flush in the sense of the RF trusting them so I suspect it will be reported visits to KCIII rather than photo opportunities or any meaningful role for H.

jeffgoldblum · 27/03/2026 00:25

The time for Harry to be “ rescued “ from the wife he chose and culoded with has long past ! He literally has made his bed , layed in it , rolled about and enjoyed it , now he needs to pay the piper!
