For all PR disasters of Meg and Papa Sussex

Now more people will hear about the petition and more people will sign it. which will get even more coverage.

It never fails to amaze and amuse me that H and M are highly critical of the RF yet cling on to their titles and flaunt their royal connection at every opportunity.
It’s also interesting the things they DON’T clap back at such as horrendous bullying of Catherine and the “ mistake “ in Scobie’s book.
Surely The Office of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex could have spoken out then ?

A while ago, the not-totally-reliable Lady C said that Meghan is waiting until the death of her father to write a book. Its shock factor, allegedly, is to be that her father sexually abused her, a fiction from Meghan. For multiple reasons, I hope this isn't true. If it is, it would show her reaching new heights in her desire for money.

Yet more evidence that H is rather dim. The Gavin Burrows' hire wasn't really thought through either.

It's hard to imagine any Polo show rivalling (!) let alone topping Jilly Cooper.

They come across as having a keenly developed moral sense, and the ability to stand back and understand what things would look like to the public. All William needs to do now is be more transparent about his finances.

It always amuses me when they have such knee-jerk reactions to things like this, as from their own accounts it is part of why they massively fell out with both Kensington Palace and Buckingham Palace back when they were working royals. The Press teams knew that this is not the way to deal with stories you don’t like, and the Sussexes didn’t want to be told no.

Looks like they still haven’t realised that the Palace teams might have had a point.

It is 100% not Meghan’s fault that those are the kind of roles available to good-looking jobbing actresses in their 20s and 30s! She got regular work, that was the first, and hardest achievement.

If she was desperate to be an actress and was confident in her abilities ( which she certainly seems to be) she could have done theatre work ?
I have mentioned before that I have a relative who was always desperate to act . When she was early 20s she was offered a lot of sexy roles and other “ opportunities” which she declined as she wanted to be an actress . After several years treading the boards of various theatres some of which were in small towns, she started to get noticed and now has a regular TV role.
Meghan wanted to be rich and famous first and foremost.

She also said that a member of the RF told her to tell TM Snr to do a living/video testimony while he still can, because they also think MM will make such a claim post his death. As always with Lady C, take it with a big pinch of salt.

That’s just an example of their emotional immaturity - they are totally reactive and have no ability to be responsive.

They are impulsive not strategic.

With every word and clap back they reveal the depth of their emotional ignorance, dysregulation and bitterness.

They are not grounded but it’s highly amusing to sit back and watch how every word that comes out of their own mouths becomes fashioned into bullets by the media to shoot them back with.

I agree that this Australia clap back is very fractious which might indicate how brittle they are underneath and how maybe this tour/event is on the skids.

Looks like she’s paid him off enough to buy his silence currently - but ensured the worlds global media knew the T&Cs - so again exploited his privacy whilst claiming he had invaded hers.

Was she forced to take them?

Exactly.

There's no reason for her to have confined herself to those sorts of roles. Plenty of good looking actresses with acting chops have done roles that don't rely on their looks and sex appeal. I don't think Meghan wanted to be an actor. She wanted to be a star.

It's a possibility, I suppose. No doubt the palace believes Meghan capable of anything. It would be very hurtful for Thomas to have to confront such an accusation. And even if he did do a recording, after his death it would be Meghan's word against Thomas's. I can see Meghan 'interpreting' affectionate behaviour from Thomas as abuse to fit her narrative.

We should expect lots of PR mis-steps, with Sunshine Sachs allegedly out of the frame and a tiny internal team. Although they don't take advice, I expect PR experts have in the past managed to restrain their wilder excesses.

In the early days there was a newspaper report that H was seeing "American movie star, Meghan Markle".

Looking back with the benefit of hindsight it's obvious it was just one of many of her exaggerated self-promotion push pieces. I doubt many people this side of the pond had ever heard of her.

I remember reading that at the time, and assuming she must be massive in the US, although I had never heard of her.

They already did a Polo reality show (possibly part scripted) about the uber-wealthy playing polo in the US and it was a total flop.

Just stealing ideas from the Disney+ Rivals (season 2 will air in May) just seems like jumping on the bandwagon too late. Based on previous experience - even if it gets the green light, it won't air for several years....

They announced they'd bought the rights to "Meet Me At the Lake" in 2023 to massive publicity yet filming hasn't started almost 3 years later, and I don't think it's been cast. Even the Archetypes podcast took around 2½ years from announcing the Spotify deal to actually airing episodes.

No one I knew had ever heard of her until Harry issued his statement criticising the harassment of M .

She made a great psychotic killer in the "Fairytale Princess" episode of Castle - in fact I recognized that she repeated many of the same expressions of faux innocence in the infamous South Africa "no one's asked me if I'm alright" interview....

I think for Meghan it's unlikely she will get an A-list acting career anytime soon. She did pretty well as one of the multitude of hopefuls landing a moderate role in the cable soap-legal drama Suits and getting a few guest spots on other shows. She reminds me of the many UK former soap/recurring drama actresses who turn up each year in episodes of Midsomer Murders, Death in Paradise,Vera and other similar shows.

But I don't see Meghan doing serious drama (has she ever done professional theatre??) or landing major film leads. But her problem in the TV/theatre industry is that she is aging out of the pretty girl roles - many actresses at her level find themselves playing the Mom /aunt/older friend in Christmas movies or Netflix specials

I watched some of the Netflix polo show. It was tedious - lots of not-very-pleasant, wealthy people being unpleasant in opulent surroundings. What I expected was a show that taught me about polo. I still know nothing. A missed opportunity
