She was better in the remake of 90210 where she sat in the front of a car next to a handsome young man and appeared to be picking the contents of her handbag up off the floor/or out of his lap. At least I’m hoping that’s what she was doing.😝

I once whilst idly flicking spotted Meghan in one of those Hallmark Movie things. She wasn’t all that.

I can’t see Meghan settling for anything other than Playing Her Famous Self or the Main Character Femme Fatale. There’s no way she’d be Mrs Bennett as opposed to Elizabeth (or at a pinch the beautiful Jane). Or Mrs Danvers instead of the nameless heroine. Actually she could make a great Mrs Danvers….

That line pretty much confirms M is behind the article. For some reason, she likes to promote herself a a pretty young thing.

When the relationship with H was in its infancy and she was desperate to reveal it to the world, I remember her hinting, "I feel like the luckiest girl in the world." Girl?!

TBH the event is bringing some pretty unwelcome publicity to the new posh hotel. Nobody would have batted an eyelid at its opening without this.

She's exactly the right age for Mrs Bennett.

Whole family? So that would be Harry and... just Harry? Maybe the 2 small children.

I think a return to acting would be a good idea.
It's genuine paid work. and something she did before so she can't be accused of grifting.

I haven't seen Suits but I think I can imagine her role having watched her generally.

She performs in every day life as if she is acting in a Hall Mark movie, or a superficial glossy US style show. She's either playing 'girl in love' with all the touching and gazing, or sexy boss lady, with her assertive confidence and striding around, or loving young mom capturing magical moments with flowers and sun shine, or the thought leader inspiring others with her closed eyes and looking up while she searches to express depth.

It seems to me not can she act, but can she not act?

I don't think I've ever watched her and it's not felt like a performance? Can anyone? when does she seem genuine?

Her acting seems to be limited to quite stereotypical depictions. As if she doesn't understand the complexity of people, so can't convey it.

It's interesting to think about roles she could or couldn't play.

I don't think she could play Mrs Bennett. Mrs Bennett is a deeply flawed character with no self awareness which ironically you need to understand to be able to convey. I think she could play cruel or silly, both possible interpretations for Mrs Bennett but behind this the actor has to also convey some sympathy still. Because Mrs Bennett is so simple she can't understand how others see her, or she's unkind because she's frightened of the future and life has been unfair. (see Ruth Jones recent Mrs Bennet in The Other Bennet Girl. Very diffrent to the 1995 Alison Steadman Mrs Benett)

I also don't thnk she could play a comedy character. Say like Jennifer Anniston in Friends. Yes this was a cute/ sexy role, but she also created a character who could be self deprecating, take a joke, make a joke etc and I just can't imagine M being able to pull of comedy.

I think she could only play quite one dimensional roles.

Well she can only return to acting if someone is willing to give her a part…

I think it's all idle speculation but not by Meghan. Would she be offered the role that made her the star attraction? Would she be prepared to put herself out there possibly to be torn apart by real film/tv critics? Would anyone be prepared to put their professional reputation and a shit load of money on the line for a middle-aged 'actress' who's only claim to fame is being the DofS? No, personally, I think that horse has bolted and it's all bollocks.

They've been slated in several articles at this stage, in reputable industry publications such as the Hollywood reporter and variety. No one will want to work with her. Maybe she can get the odd bit part playing herself but that will be it. Her reputation as being spoilt and "difficult" precedes her. More promising careers have been put on hold by similar allegations, eg Katherine heigl, who is now appearing in ads for incontinence pads. Maybe that's something meghan could look into lol

Good point about how the industry bibles have all done an expose on her. Talk about her around town must be rife.

There’s a few actresses who get steady roles like Dana Delaney, but she’s probably a joy to work with.

I'd be surprised if she didn't get at least a few offers of acting work. Because she's famous/notorious enough that it would be massive free publicity for the project, if nothing else.

Whether the projects/roles would be ones which she found commensurate with her dignity is another matter. I would imagine that the big, high-quality productions would be very wary. Uncertain acting skills, a difficult reputation, and a number of critics who would be watching with an eagle eye to pick out any flaws and weaknesses - it's not an appealing combination.

She would need to start fairly low and work her way up. Nothing in her recent career suggests that she would be prepared to do that. Instead she seems to try to start at the top (and then quit somewhere along the long slide down).

What happened to that film that she had a cameo in as herself? The one that was top secret but she blabbed to everyone!

There’s always the Christmas Panto season - she would be fabulous in Cinderella as the wicked step mother - or she could get the band back together and her and her bestie Mulroney could pair up as the ugly sisters - they’d be fabulous and would draw a crowd to the end of the pier - bonus points if it was on ice.

That is my understanding, yes.

I don't follow this as closely as I might - I thought it was Harry who had the stalker? Or is Harry's stalker a woman Meghan's hired to follow them about, and forgotten to tell him about? So Meghan arranges for the woman to turn up, then Harry notices her and screams that they're being followed by a crazy lady?! They're like a low-brow bloody sitcom.

I suspect Quaid Junior was covering up tha fact that none of the four leads ever met her at the studios while they were filming, and her 'cameo' was filmed separately and will be dropped in later during editing.

Meghan may, however, have a part in the alleged new scripted polo show, that H&M are supposedly working on with a writer. (I dread to think how bad it will be.) She could play Richaria de Luxen Riches, the love interest of Fox del Torro del Pantaloon, against a backdrop of Argentinian sunsets and vast stretches of horseshit.
