Ahhhb Harry’s friend thinks it’s spiteful to have had his security removed. Personally I think it’s spiteful to trash your family on a book and on a chat show …
https://x.com/richardaeden/status/2035261868739014799?s=46

Looks like the call has gone out for a last minute security push for team Harry.

@BillyBites I think this may be The Times link that @jeffgoldblum posted earlier

Sure does @IAmATorturedPoet. So predictable. As ever.

Guest385 · 21/03/2026 08:30

I see the stalker popping up at the court case is again mentioned to justify the increased security risk. Hmmm.

The replies are funny, but correct. You don't get to leave your job but keep the perks.

And this comes back to why I dislike them so much- they have no understanding of their privilege.

RecoIIectionsMayVary · 21/03/2026 08:46

I can't actually read that link. It makes me really cross it's 'affecting my family every single day' (not having UK security)

But they can attend the Middle East and Africa? Harry can go around and knock on random London doors?

There is so much that affects families every single day, much worse than having to follow the UK rules - he would get protection if he stayed at a Royal Residence.

If he gets protection above and beyond what Anne/Edward/etc get then it will make me a Republican.

IAmATorturedPoet · 21/03/2026 08:56

I have very similar thoughts and feelings too after reading that article @RecoIIectionsMayVary

There will be a backlash in one form or another if the entitled man-child gets his own way.

I’m trying to word this carefully, but to Harry, I don’t think security is just security in the sense of protecting him from threats. It’s status and a way to have a social life. Security probably facilitated errands, assisted arrangements and when Harry was younger, may have been a source of support to him.

Looking at what has been released so far about Andrew, his visits and his visitors, the logistics needed planning, and AMW didn’t do that. At least, not alone.

While I think the leading cause of his tantrum is arrogance of the do you know who I am variety, I also strongly suspect that Harry was used having a team of, mainly male, security to facilitate and smooth over some of his social choices.

JSMill · 21/03/2026 09:06

They were just discussing this on Sky news and the journalists seemed very concerned that a stalker was able to get close to H on two occasions. How many women have stalkers or abusive exs and get no support or protection from the police? And how many such women die every year at the hands of those men? Moreover, is the suggestion that H will receive protection in the US? How would that even work? The cost would be extortionate.
On the other hand, the mischievous side of me thinks if H is saying the security is preventing him from bringing the dcs to the UK, give it to him and see what happens. I personally think M doesn’t want to return to the UK again.

IAmATorturedPoet · 21/03/2026 09:23

I do think that individually H&M have different objectives and preferred outcomes where the whole RAVEC/security issue is concerned.

Thedom · 21/03/2026 09:38

It’s absolutely ridiculous to think he could get tax payer funded security, just because he wants it and expects it.

If he is that scared about the UK, don’t bloody come, it’s not a war zone!

Mylovelygreendress · 21/03/2026 09:49

If ( and it’s a big if) he is given the security he deems necessary, it will be interesting to see what excuses M comes up with to avoid setting foot in the UK .
The King and Queen will likely be in Scotland in July/ August and i certainly don’t think any of the other Royals will welcome them .
And there is a huge risk of them being booed .
Maybe they should stick to “ safer “ places such as Nigeria !

I do believe the "source" in that particular article is actually Harry.

Ahh, so the Police believe he's in danger but the bad Politicians (insert Head of ROYAL Household) are refusing the poor soul. Meanwhile Edward and Sophie get dragged into it too.

Again Harry showing he doesn't understand how RAVEC works and makes decisions.

I assume he's not gotten the decision he wants from his review and he's reverting back to complaining about the Establishment Stitch Up.

IAmATorturedPoet · 21/03/2026 10:21

I have just realised it wasn’t The Times article that @jeffgoldblum linked to @00:06, it was actually The Telegraph, apologies for archiving the incorrect link Jeff.

bluegreygreen · 21/03/2026 10:26

I haven't been able to access the Telegraph link yet.

According to the Times link (thanks @IAmATorturedPoet) no decision has yet been made. A source is suggesting there is political pressure on the committee, and is positioning the Home Office in opposition to the police and security advisers. The HO spokesman has effectively said it doesn't comment on security.

The article again mentions the 'stalker' in court. As I understand it, there is airport-type security in the High Court, and if there had been any concerns the woman would not have been permitted to enter the courtroom.

I agree this is likely to be a push by the Sussex PR team.

bluegreygreen · 21/03/2026 10:28

IMO this shows she was already setting up the victim narrative from the very start of the relationship.

I don't think she set up a victim narrative when she arrived in the UK. I think she's ALWAYS had a victim narrative and she's ALWAYS had a chip on her shoulder - just like Harry, although he festers in his and she hates hers and is desperate to get rid of it. He's always belonged and she's desperate to belong. Neither is happy because neither has made it to the other side. That's why Meghan is utterly inauthentic, and Harry is utterly miserable.

From being the poor(er) kid in the all-girl California private school (these are a thing unto themselves) with divorced parents one of whom wasn't white; to being the youngest step-sibling of older parents; to having an absent-for-a-while mother and being a daughter who lived with her dad; to never making it in professional circles but still citing a 6 week college internship in her resume in her mid-40s; to never making it as a model beyond the odd shoot here and there from which she had to thieve shoes and clothes and go straight out to party because she'd had professional make-up done which couldn't go to waste; to bit part roles in Hallmark movies and cable TV soaps; to having to undergo cosmetic surgery on her nose and breasts and teeth; to being rebuffed by big American brands and only able to land a campaign with Canada's answer to Debenhams; to eventually hitting the "big-time" as a supporting actress on Suits for a total of single-digit minutes on screen in not-every-episode.... This is someone who's been rejected a lot, who always thought she deserved more than she had, who's always been jealous of the popular girls, who's learned that to get what she wants life has to be a series of transactions. It all makes for a very easy narrative of it always being someone else's fault that you didn't get where you want to be, a tale she can spin that nobody can call her out on. And if they ever do, she cuts them loose and moves on. OF COURSE she walks away from zooms when she feels offended. OF COURSE she won't let Harry steal her limelight. OF COURSE she must control the narrative at all times. OF COURSE she will go on the warpath if ever anyone threatens her reach or achievements. OF COURSE she believes in her endeavours when the whole world is telling her they're average-to-crap. OF COURSE nobody else knows what's right for her because the best thing that's ever happened to her - marrying Harry - happened under her own steam (with the help of Markus Anderson). God the narc high she must have felt in those months around the wedding and Megxit must have been quite the thing. She'll be chasing that for the rest of her life.

Wow thank you. This is the first time I have felt sorry for her past (when you’ve summarised all her early years in one go).

I don’t feel sorry for her present at all though, they have had plenty of time, advice and opportunities to change their outcomes and they have chosen to continue bulldozing forward.

Also I am shocked by the songbird coat of arms anecdote if that is accurate. How utterly ungracious and unbecoming that was. But I chuckle when I think of how cartoon-like the bird might have looked.

JSMill · 21/03/2026 12:00

I think this story about security has been planted to distract from the events of the last few days - the Variety article, the NF guy (Ted somebody) unfollowing M etc.

That article makes no sense. What security arrangement is or is not going to get "reinstated". They have a security arrangement, just not the one that they want, but that isn't made clear in the article.

And what has H's security got to do with Edward's stables?

This sounds like a Sussex- sourced hit on the RF, rather than reporting. A similar article, using exactly the same "facts" and phrases appeared in the Telegraph.

Serenster · 21/03/2026 12:05

As I understand it, there is airport-type security in the High Court

This is true. Harry’s trial was at the Royal Courts of Justice on the Strand in London. To enter any on the entrances to the court buildings there you have to put your bags through an X-ray, walk through a scanning machine and demonstrate that any liquids you have are just drinks (you have to take a sip of them, in other words).

Serenster · 21/03/2026 12:06

It’s clearly a very carefully researched and written article. “The Duke, who lives in Florida…” 🙄

bluegreygreen · 21/03/2026 12:09

Was just about to post that @Serenster - did someone's copywriter have a moment?
