Also caught on camera at the back of Harry colouring in with crayons was James (I need to spend more time with my family in London) Holt. So that was clearly a lie as well.

But Sharren Haskel, Israel's deputy foreign minister, is a person of power who is taking them seriously. She is not ignoring them.

Because they are high-enough profile to say stuff that is repeated, and creates a fuss.

Their behaviour is now a situation that needs addressing. They are tarnishing the very peculiar brand of the UK's ( and a lot of other countries') Head of State. This HoS needs to get on this before countries start deciding that their HoS is not fit for purpose any more.

You may recognise me as a regular poster who identifies as a constitutional monarchist. But I'm losing patience with the current (and last) incumbent's ability to rise above family and shore up the HoS brand as serious, capable and fit for purpose.

I know I shouldn’t say this, obviously I don’t wish any harm on them, but I think getting stuck in Jordan for a few days of inconvenience would do them the world of good. Assuming they are safely back in Montessori I doubt they will reflect on their fortuitous timing at all.

It just goes to show how much out of the loop they are, acting alone as they do. I obviously don’t have a crystal ball and can’t claim prior knowledge but I’ve been following events in Iran and commentary from that area for some time now, the USA aircraft carriers were reported to have arrived in the area sometime last week (not sure why it took them so long but perhaps that’s a reflection of Trump hanging back), it was obvious that something big was brewing, not a matter of if but when. Whilst it’s possible the UK government was also out of the loop, what with banning USAF planes etc, but I can’t help feeling that if The King or W&C had been due a visit there last week there would have been a last minute cancellation for whatever reason they might have chosen to give. H&M running around doing their own thing are a headache the RF, government and security forces could do without.

The only reason why I’m asking, isn’t there usually an update that they’ve left a location/or they’ve landed back in the US. I haven’t heard any of that.

Plus it’s a long way to travel for just two days. Was it two days work and a couple of days off duty?

@RhaidimiddimI feel the same way as you. We really need to learn the lesson from AMW about entitled royals who prance around the world pursuing their own interests. I was reading a piece in the DM today about Beatrice and Eugenie’s activities in the Middle East and the potential of such activities to conflict with government strategy. We really need a slimmed down monarchy and a government which isn’t afraid to speak up.

I don’t know if the UK was given any warning but I know France wasn’t.

It does make it obvious that they are completely out their depth, getting involved with anything to do with the ME.

Unfortunately the only thing the RF can do is nothing. H&M will do whatever they want and thumbing their noses at the RF and doing exactly what they have been told not to do is exactly what they will do, whilst whining about their victimhood at the same time.
