This time to Jordan. What do they bring to it, exactly? What is their role? To bring attention to the issue of Syrian refugees? Jordan is dealing with them fine.

What are they there for? In what capacity?

Harry and Meghan land in Jordan as they begin two-day visit

Prince Harry and Meghan today began a busy two-day visit to Jordan - one of Prince William and Kate's favourite countries - as they met people working with refugees.

I don't think Harry is much of a footballer either.

Yeah you don't see that anywhere else on here do you? 🙄

But @InsolentAnnie is correct.

These threads are always nasty.

Oh he’s leaching alright, he wants the hardworking taxpayers to pay for his security while he swans around massaging his ego , his court cases have cost the taxpayers money, which he hasn’t paid yet .
american taxpayers are footing the bill for trips to the theatre and tattoo parlours , they are not happy either.

For better or worse, certain people in our society get security.

He does not, as it stands, but thinks that he should. So he is arguing for it. The judge will decide.

I cannot get heated about that when all the others have it.

US tax payers can sort their own affairs out in that regard. They did it successfully before! :)

But it seems that these are thin things to get worked up about.

I mean, we have a system that locks in one family as the best of the best. Which means that philosophically we have locked in the idea that our country is an unequal society! 'Cause bloodline innit. Or tradition innit. Or some other innit.

The royals are raised to believe, correctly, that they are rare (only a few), have rights above everyone else (also true - see AMW and all their tax stuff), and to function only within that paradigm.

They have NO life skills outside of that.

It is mental.

Personally I have no respect for any of them. I feel very badly for the women who married in. And, I have a little more respect for PH because at least he is trying.

Ah no, @jeffgoldblum - I can handle a chat, debate, argument and so on.

I don't like name calling, claiming psychiatric illnesses for a person who is a stranger to you, degrading physical appearances, in order to put someone down is not something I do or like others doing.

He gets security when he is in the U.K. and has given notice.
this is a fundamental fact that most people already know.
trying to obscure the truth doesn’t make the fact he has appropriate security for his position disappear!

most people are no longer willing to put up with non working royals grifting their titles for personal gain, we barely put up with the working royals doing it .

he is apparently wealthy according to his fans , no sympathy for millionaires trying to get those less fortunate to pay their bills.
the time has come to unhook the nipple from those who are not giving anything back.

ps his court case for security was finished ages ago, he lost.

Well seeing as I have done none of those things, I see no relevance.

Again, I can't argue with you on that - I think they should all go and none of them should get security.

So we agree on that.

Wow - I never thought that would happen!!😃

jeffgoldblum · 26/02/2026 01:06

Non working royals should have no titles.

Considering they are not woʻrking royals, it actually looks bloody ridiculous. It's almost funny. Im now imagining ordinary members of the public hopping on a plane and going to another country and accosting complete strangers and beaming and shaking hands as if they really care aabout them. It's a bit like that.😂

jeffgoldblum · 26/02/2026 01:12

While they are currently in the U.K. doing official business, then that is palatable.
I’m curious as to why you believe the monarchy should be abolished but put up such a spirited defence of an individual who not only believes in the privilege of the monarchy but who has no outside knowledge or talent without it?

I’d vote for you to go instead! , you would most definitely do a better job .

Longshinyhair · 26/02/2026 01:20

Without them, few would have remembered the victims of war in Gaza today. Or Syria.

What a grossly ignorant comment, you are so deluded in your fog of admiration for the pair of self serving grifters that you actually think it takes them to remind the public that there are victims of war in Gaza or Syria! Let’s face it they are only there to serve there grubby little selves, As ever.

Indeed! I missed that! , it’s as bad as believing that people would forget to vote without their involvement or not get vaccinated without their rather limited announcement!

You know it had completely passed me by that there were victims of war in Gaza and Syria, thank the lord for Harry and Meghan, otherwise I wouldn’t have had a clue!

Well while you are ruminating about this fact don’t forget that apparently Meghan has a new bookmark out for sale ( coincidentally) .

I really do think that we need to abolish the monarchy - and we see now with the removal of AMW titles that it is possible to un prince a blood prince.

So for PH - I am agnostic about his title in the sense that he has left any official role and is now a citizen, trying to figure things out.

I personally think that took courage.

I keep in mind that he was not prepared in any way for a life outside of being a prince.

Longshinyhair · 26/02/2026 01:38

Excellent job I say. If I was the boss of the person who got them on board I would give them a promotion!

I remember you posting something similar before the republican who thinks Harry should be given a grander title and a huge chunk of cash.
