This time to Jordan. What do they bring to it, exactly? What is their role? To bring attention to the issue of Syrian refugees? Jordan is dealing with them fine.

What are they there for? In what capacity?

Harry and Meghan land in Jordan as they begin two-day visit

Prince Harry and Meghan today began a busy two-day visit to Jordan - one of Prince William and Kate's favourite countries - as they met people working with refugees.

Being totally superficial - I think Meghan is beautiful but I really wish she would get a stylist.

I think a tour if invited by WHO is fine though.

Do you think it’s ok if WHO paid for their private jet ?

According to pr the amount donated by h and m , not only doesn’t equal how much WHO would need to spend on travel and security but means they are actually severely in deficit!

stillavid · 25/02/2026 19:05

Is there proof WHO paid for their private jet? I mean I am cynical of all charitable endeavours and how money is spent.

In my ideal world all charity work by celebs/wealthy people would be self funded and that includes the RF.

So no, ideally WHO shouldn't be paying for private jets for anyone.

BoudiccaRuled · 25/02/2026 20:00

Benjithedog · 25/02/2026 13:55

WHO should be ashamed of themselves wasting money funding this pseudo tour when the funds could be used for those who actually need it. It’s quite sickening really

The WHO must be bloody desperate.
Deliberately inviting controversial slebs who will only create headlines for all the wrong reasons.
Who gave the UK ambassador a backhander to welcome them?!

EatYourDamnPie · 25/02/2026 18:37

They have a budget of nearly 7 BILLION dollars. (6.83 to be exact).

Seemingly Bill Gates is the major contributor YET...BUT...BUT...there they are 😉

corblimeyguvnr · 25/02/2026 20:13

They really think they're the bees knees 😂

Someone paid for the flight and you can bet your bottom dollar it wasn’t the pair of them

Just thinking the same thing.

Gates splashed all over the Epstein files yet here's self-styled dragon slayer and moral crusader Harold panting for a gig at the table.

Yet again you couldn't make this shit up.

Benjithedog · 25/02/2026 13:51

How are they trying to make a difference?

Daily Mail, Telegraph, Times, and the Guardian to name a few in the UK, have run the story.

NYT, Page Six, Washington Post, LA Times, Boston Globe to name a few in the States have run the story.

Numerous publications in EU have run the story.

That is how they make a difference.

Without them, few would have remembered the victims of war in Gaza today. Or Syria.

Love them or hate them - they get the front pages, the world over, like No. Other. Couple.

Hard to swallow if you hate 'em, pleasing if you like 'em but bloody obvious to everyone.

I think you do not have much experience/understanding of how international organizations like that work.

How about you calculate the cost of a front page ad in the biggest selling newspapers in the States, the UK and most of the EU countries?

Then compare that to the cost of their travel.

Then calculate how long people spent talking about their trip vs how long they would have looked at an add.

Then, with those incomplete and superficial metrics, start to figure out cost / benefit analysis for the WHO.

You certainly could look at it this way.

But to my mind it is natural for PH to visit the victims of war - his life's work is that. Trauma victims from war zones.

It is interesting really - one brother goes to help our country get trading deals that will buy the weapons of war from us.

The other brother goes and consoles the victims of weapons.

I suppose you could say the we, the UK, have it all covered!.

CurlewKate · 25/02/2026 21:53

I’m pretty sure the WHO wouldn’t fund this trip if it wasn’t financially beneficial. Why would they?

Absolute rubbish. This is all an ego stroke for the pair of them. WHO should be ashamed

Quite bizarre you think that WHO funding should pay for the pair to pay a visit for PR purposes when they could use it to help those in need. .

Princessfluffy · 25/02/2026 22:09

Surely if the ambassador recognised them this means that the UK government endorses their trip? And why would the government do this?

ShamedBySiri · 25/02/2026 22:11

LOL. Looks like the new PR team have turned up. (Or is it the old PR person - so many I've lost track). Sunshine Sachs or is it Liam.
Keep on keeping on. You're bound to convince someone one day. 😂

CrocusesFlowering · 25/02/2026 22:14

Is this a thread to take the heat off the other members of the royal family?
Are the Sussexes really this newsworthy?

Beechtrees19 · 25/02/2026 22:16

Mylovelygreendress · 25/02/2026 18:56

Looking at photos , Harry looks bored to tears.

He really does. He reminds me of a teenage boy being dragged to some family event with lots of much older people where there is nothing for him to do. She’s just acting ( badly) as usual. It’s cringeworthy.

Not2identifying · 25/02/2026 22:22

I don't mind the trips that much although I also don't believe they're doing any good. I know more about the clothes M wore than I do about the WHO's work from reading about today's visit.

I think the British ambassador should have refrained from commenting.

I think this is unlikely to lead to peace or happiness for H, in particular, but also M, because I think she's chasing a popularity or respect that I don't really think will ever materialize because her approach to 'good work' is too superficial and too directly connected to her image/PR. It doesn't feel natural or sincere.

Beechtrees19 · 25/02/2026 22:28

I’ve just had a good look at the photos. They are beyond embarrassing. Meghan looks an absolute mess.

CrocusesFlowering · 25/02/2026 22:46

Do looks matter?
Are women still being judged by how they look??

The WHO should be ashamed of what exactly?

Getting the refugees on the front page of every important newspaper in the West?

Reminding people of the crisis that is happening in Gaza?

Being smart to harness the appeal (hate in your case, love in other cases, or curiosity in others) of PH and MM?

Excellent job I say. If I was the boss of the person who got them on board I would give them a promotion!

Why wouldn't they?

It is a VERY good shift for the other... criminal?

Both British.

Both a different vision of British.

Right now, getting AMW off the front pages is a good thing for the Royals, and for the UK.

I pop in occasionally.

I have been around here for 20 years.

I dislike the nastiness of these threads so I post.

Then I leave you all to enjoy.

But PR I am not, paid I am not.

It is just that some people see things a little differently from you.
