Sadly I think he is being used as a scapegoat to get us all to "look over here" whilst nobody actually gets arrested or prosecuted for child abuse and trafficking....

NewAgeNewMe · 19/02/2026 13:07

Always surprised that white collar crime often has long sentences compared to abuse crimes. But at least he’s been arrested. Whether charged and tried is another matter. But I think this maybe the start.

Finally !

I hope this is the catalyst for unsealing the trade envoy files, I think the government will come under enormous pressure now get those released !

I don’t believe this will ever come to trial though, I wouldn’t be surprised if he won’t be around !

I agree. I said to my partner a few weeks ago I think he will commit suicide. Whether encouraged to or not, who knows…

He still died in jail, so the outcome was the same.

No he didn’t. Al Capone died about 10 years after he left prison/finished his sentence. He died in Miami in his home.

Sadly I also think this is a risk, I think he will fight this every way he can, but if it looks like jail, I do think there is a high risk of a tragic ending.

I have found the repeated claims of concern for A MW’s mental health tin-eared and quite offensive. Prince William and other RF members have expressed concern. David Dimbely looked apologetic of A MW this week on News Night with his same concerns. My concerns are for the victims repeatedly raped, trafficked, silenced many who were children. How is their MH after these violations? Some so bad they took the ultimate action.

I think this concern for AMW’s MH is not just gross but is a deliberate set up that they are all participating in and he will be unable to stand trial due to poor MH. Bit like Weinstein shuffling in on his walking frame.

This MH concern will back fire on the RF

Puzzledandpissedoff · 19/02/2026 13:21

Looking at the news there seem to be quite a lot of people outside Sandringham - probably more than some of the RF have pulled in quite a while

Every cloud and all that ...

IAmKerplunk · 19/02/2026 13:21

If this did go to trial how would it work with a jury? Surely every single juror would be biased one way or another. Are there any special laws or contingencies or anything in place for situations like this?

SadTimesInFife · 19/02/2026 12:44

"Put your trousers on, sunshine, you're nicked!" ..said the arresting officer, while all his envious colleagues were heard sniggering in the background.

"What do you mean you don't know how to do it? No we can't wait for your valet!"

Chesterdrawss · 19/02/2026 13:27

Puzzledandpissedoff · 19/02/2026 12:35

They actually said they "understand" that Charles wasn't told, which isn't the same as stating it as a fact, but never mind ... someone might believe it Hmm

It was always a question of ‘when’ not ‘if’ - they all knew this hence the timely move to anonymous looking building at Sandringham - they didn’t want his arrest visually associated with Windsor Castle on the world stage.

Roadtripwithpretzels · 19/02/2026 13:28

I’m getting a bit fed up with the narrative “why are they focusing on the Brits and on Andrew and not the other powerful men involved?”

First today’s arrest is related to his actions as Trade Envoy involving the British Foreign Office and the Department of Trade.

But as far as the allegations in relation to Epstein are concerned, Ghislaine Maxwell was a central figure in the British establishment and AMW is brother of the British Monarch and he and his wife seem to have been very much involved with Epstein, so yes this is a very British-focused debacle at the heart of the establishment and quite right that attention is focused on that.

The Americans can take care of their own issues and we should do the same.

Chesterdrawss · 19/02/2026 13:31

MoiraPlunkett · 19/02/2026 12:35

Whatever the King's underlying motivations for that - one can only hope they were honourable - it can be presented as him wanting to ensure the victim was recompensed, rather than bailing AMW out.

Wow. That’s some stretch!!

Even KC3 himself hasn’t been so crass and disingenuous.

Absolutely grim.

Arrested on his birthday AND the day he presumably gets his state pension 🤣

You get it a month in arrears, so his first payment will be next month. Might help towards his legal costs?

So are you saying that there are no “establishment” Americans involved with Epstein who equally need investigation?

MO0N · 19/02/2026 13:33

I'm torn between:
1-it's a performance designed to protect the monarchy as a whole
and
2-they must have something very big on him because 'if you come for the king you better make sure you don't miss'.
(Obviously he's not actually the king but I think my point still stands)

I think it’s more of a concern about him not meeting his justified faith of being tried and found guilty - and taking the high road of killing himself without answers/closure for the victims?

Didn't the police attend Royal Lodge a week or two before he was turfed out and removed his shotguns? It was speculated at the time that he was considered a suicide risk.

No! They all need investigation!

Here in Britain we should be doing everything we can on this side of the Atlantic to investigate the people that are involved here; such as AMW, Mandelsohn and Maxwell!

And those that knew about it and covered it up!

I am saying that there are big British players involved so it’s quite right that they should be investigated!

As if that was the only method available to him if he chose that path.

NewAgeNewMe · 19/02/2026 13:41

I’m really pleasantly surprised being arrested for TE stuff actually, I never thought it would happen, because it may implicate high profile politicians that maybe knew. So I’m quite pleased for once that I’m unwell and able to follow on tv.

Think Jonathan Dimbleby on BBC is wrong. It will affect the royals whatever he says.

crasenda · 19/02/2026 10:21

I hope he stamps feet and demands "Do you know who I aaaaam?" and the officer replies "Why, do you not remember?"

The police said “yes we do a kiddie fiddler and a traitor”

Darklane · 19/02/2026 12:25

Exactly. Convenient whipping boy & scapegoat for the ones avoiding the bullet it strikes me.

The English police have arrested a member of the royal family.

Are you saying they did it because another country told them to?

He's already been on some sort of watch for his mental health a little while back hasn't he?
