No, people don’t wear all sorts of footwear in hospital. Unless it’s a Sat night in casualty…then no one is wearing open toed high heels.

And again no- people don’t visit sick people in hospital in an outfit that they’ve been playing sports in. That’s grim.

How long was she playing sports for? Theres a difference between a few minutes and a while hour and getting super sweaty.

I see people locally going from gym after their session, classes etc into supermarkets etc.

You see people after pilates etc in cafes and so on i mean why is that acceptable?

She was playing sports outdoors, then visited sick kids in hospital. Grim

They are so mischievous - I just think they do these things to thumb their noses at William, Charles and even to the UK Government. Behind the scenes you can be sure there is a security headache going on as they quietly scramble to assess risk and liaise with security forces in Jordan to ensure they are safe. I wonder how much notice they gave of their plans? They may not have the public protection that would be afforded by IPP status, but it will be going on in the background - imagine the diplomatic fall out if they were kidnapped or something, I'm not sure quite what point they are making with respect to Harry's demands for security but there will be one.

What I can't understand is how they wrangle these trips/meetings. Imagine, you are a top official at WHO, organising high level meetings to "shine a light" as they say or whatever. Scratch your head, who would be a good person to invite for publicity??? I can't say I take much notice of celebrity life so it's true I don't have any good suggestions but H&M definitely wouldn't be on the list. It wouldn't surprise me if there is some quiet shade being sent Trump's way, with the USA leaving the WHO. Maybe that's why they were invited.

I read somewhere that Sunshine Sachs have UN contacts and can arrange celebrity PR jaunts to visit hospitals and refugees etc

Seems like a variation on the disaster tourism theme

Isn’t that what MM did with her ‘ UN Ambassador’ role pre PH?

It’s all so self serving and calculated.

Because she is there on an official visit? She's not just done a Pilates class and has rocked up for a machacappolatte.

They are there as the Duke & Duchess of Sussex representing Archewell (cos they sure as shit ain't representing the UK or Commonwealth) and the WHO/Jordanian Govt are hosting them in some capacity.

Can you see the difference?

They both look scruffy .

They do. I do think if you’re going to pretend to be royalty with faux royal visits and all the gracious hand shaking etc, then make an effort to dress appropriately. As a PP said, they look like they’ve been doing the gardening.

Ironically Meghan normally looks more glamorous while ( faux ) gardening.

JSMill · 25/02/2026 18:35

@PigglyWigglyOhYeahthat’s a very good point.

I love how she's chosen to use a book on "service and leadership". What're they trying to remind us of, a life of service?

StartupRepair · 25/02/2026 19:12

She's not naturally sporty, so pretending to be will only lead to comparison with Kate, who is.

AtIusvue · 25/02/2026 19:15

All that good causes/ humanitarian PR has to be for something……the next As ever drop!

Maybe she can live stream from the refugee camps tomorrow, how you need to buy now before they sell out!

binkie163 · 25/02/2026 19:33

Has she handed out free flower sprinkles and pancake mix? A special refugee combo.
What annoys me and it really does annoy me are celebs doing this shit as if they care! They are getting paid for it, luxury travel and free publicity for celeb and charity. The bloody money donated should go to the actual cause not stroking someones ego.
Some like Ewan McGregor do it all free to raise money and awareness, unfortunately for most it is a paid gig.

I do t thi k the people in that situation they are in give a shiny shit if a person rocked up wearing the same trousers they judt did 5 mins of sports in...cos she wasn't exactly playing sports for a long time barely broke a sweat.

How is she pretending to be? Thats your assumption.

So what if its awkward why does she have to be perfect at everything..noone is. At least she got involved even if it mean awkward photos.

Never mind the clothes! , I’d like to know exactly what they are doing there?
and exactly why they thought a trip to the Middle East at this time was a good idea?
and why with all the criticism flying around, nobody else seems to think this is a problem!

I’d like to know exactly what they are doing there?

They are at a conference - what it says on the tin?

why they thought a trip to the Middle East at this time was a good idea?

Because the conference was on ?

nobody else seems to think this is a problem!

Why should it be?

Depends on where though? I mean, here in the UK people are on a corridor for weeks - people in gym clothes is the very least, of the very least problems! 😛

I actually think dressing nicely when you meet people shows you respect and value them. It is even more important in Middle Eastern culture. People make so much more of an effort and if you show up dressed informally or messily, it will be interpreted as you not deeming those people worthy of respect. I lived in the Middle East for over a decade and my dh is from there so I know what I am talking about.

elessar · 25/02/2026 22:02

These photos of them can’t be their usual locked down, approved photos only approach. That in itself is interesting though as it suggests they have less control and influence over this trip than on other ones. They both look dreadful, those trousers in particular that Meghan is wearing are such a bad look, so unflattering, seemingly ill fitting and horribly creased. It’s a very odd choice!
