The royal family
othernet · 13/01/2026 08:19

Unfortunately due to their hostile and unpredictable behaviour the Sussexes may be considered a security risk to the royal family, especially the Walses. There is also no way of knowing that they won't sneakily record any get togethers. This makes any meeting between the families highly unlikely. I'd hate the Daily mail frenzy about Meghan if they visited as the Sussex brand is so toxic and their controversies get public interest and attention. So I hope they stay in sunny California and perhaps King Charles makes a private visit to see his dgc.

Dollymylove · 13/01/2026 08:33

Have they run out of dirt on the RF?
😅

It is not them speculating though.

It is us, the press and so on.

Compare the amount written vs their statements.

You can’t be that naive as to how the MSM works??
Every ‘story’ about them has the cold, dead, hand of Meghan and the PR team behind it.
They pay (especially People magazine) to keep their names adjacent to the Royal Family.
She pays paparazzi to ‘catch her’ living a fabulous life in California.
I’ve never come across anyone so thirsty for attention.

Most Brits dislike the narcissistic D list actress.

Slightyamusedandsilly · 13/01/2026 10:42

Of course not. She gave up on the UK when they moved. Fair enough. Move on, don't look back. Difficult for her husband but he made his choice.

Fernsrus · 13/01/2026 10:50

WishIWasHibernating · 12/01/2026 15:41

There are bigger things going on in the world at the moment than wondering whether a self-obsessed narcissist will visit the UK.

Or what the royals will do, at all.

TheAutumnCrow · 13/01/2026 11:02

I doubt most people in the US find her of any interest now, and the same applies in the UK. She has proved quite dull, really.

She’s on the same level in terms of Celeb Twaddle as Nicola Peltz.

As for Invictus, I’ve even bored myself over the past two years going on about Birmingham, Section 114 notices, statutory safety obligations, the Israeli IDF team’s presence, and the volatile demographics of this city. Getting the Royal Family involved (and/or blaming the King) is probably seen by Harry as a ‘clever’ way of obtaining funding for the necessary security and infrastructure that haven’t been adequately built in yet to the Invictus budget. But I don’t think there will be much senior royal involvement, if the games even go ahead.

If they do happen, most people will see a shitshow. Demonstrations, protests, Israeli armed security, disorder, and/or very expensive British policing paid for by the British taxpayer … So Meghan’s welcome to be involved in that.

Gotback · 13/01/2026 11:10

No. The antipathy she feels for Britain is, by and large, reciprocated.

Thedom · 13/01/2026 12:53

Must be a huge dilemma for her, Invictus looming and knowing how much she loves being the face and spokesperson for Invictus games versus visiting a country and in-laws whom she loathes.

Their pride must be hugely dented, so much effort to try to present a semblance of a thaw in their family relations, all one sided PR.

HelpMeGetThrough · 13/01/2026 13:05

I want Harry to come back, William to get pissed off and they have a really good punch up in Horse Guards Parade.

Megan could be in Harry’s corner feeding him jam between rounds.

I’d pay to see that.

FuzzyWolf · 13/01/2026 13:06

Her name isn’t Duchess Meghan and I’m not psychic.

ShetlandishMum · 13/01/2026 13:08

Why should she?

VivienneDelacroix · 13/01/2026 13:18

The vitriol towards people who don't have any effect on our lives in any single way is laughable.

Boododedoop · 13/01/2026 13:20

wordler · 12/01/2026 17:49

It’s going to be a circus either way. They’ve left it so long that it's now something to be monitored and speculated about.

The best strategy would be to do some quiet and private vacations to Balmoral and Sandringham to have their children spend time regularly with Charles and not do any publicity about it. Then them flying in and out of the UK won’t be such a big deal any more.

In a nutshell.

Yes. For one, the brave young man counting down the hours till he’s executed for being one of the main demonstraters in Iran a few days ago.

It’s been 4 years since Meghan was in the UK, could July 2026 change that?

Meghan Markle’s Possible UK Return in 2026: Why July Is the Date to Watch

I don’t really understand their logic? According to this piece IF PH security arrangements are enhanced then MM will come to Birmingham in July 2026?

But she is totally irrelevant to the charity and PH as patron is coming anyway.

Why all the conflation?

It's not vitriol - it's gentle mockery to those with an inflated sense of self importance.

LaMarschallin · 13/01/2026 15:39

It's funny how weird some titles look in front of a name when they're not meant to be.
I'm used to Postman Pat and Fireman Sam now.
"Duchess Meghan" will always look strange to me.

PR spin.

Especially when you remember that (a) Harry currently has security, assessed on a case-by-case basis and (b) he has previously been invited to stay in royal accommodation when in the UK for Invictus events and has refused, preferring hotels.

The vitriol towards people who don't have any effect on our lives in any single way is laughable.

But they do have an effect on my life. They are bring me huge laughs day in day out. They are a self perpetuating pantomime. Everyday they deliver some nonsense. It’s so entertaining to watch this pompous, grandiose and delusional pair of grifters inadvertently piss on their own chips.
