Christmas Day walk in Sandringham

This is such a strange thing....so the royal family walk along a stretch of path every year and people gather to watch them. These people try to talk to the Wales children and give them presents. They are photographing the children, taking selfies, etc. I think the kids are far too young to do this. It is so odd.

How on earth do William & Catherine think this is okay?!

If anyone criticises the children, I’m sure most people would disagree with that. They’re just children who get no choice than to be part of this at the moment and I feel really sorry for them.

What did culewKate actually say though as it’s not really clear @cockandbullstories and @jeffgoldblum?

This is a really old article on “John” the super fan that said the over familiar “Nana Diana would you proud of you”

https://eu.usatoday.com/story/news/world/2017/08/22/princess-dianas-most-passionate-fan-guy-named-john-loughrey/524535001/

And I notice that William actually introduced his kids to him. This person who seems to suffer with their mental health and has an unhealthy obsession with all of them.

William’s sense of normal behaviour is warped.

That article is very strange

It’s hard to know quite what to say really.

The children definitely shouldn’t have to deal with him saying inappropriate things. It’s so weird that anyone is that obsessed but that William would feel it’s appropriate to normalise this to his children is baffling.

StartupRepair · 29/12/2025 19:52

Was it last year that Andrew (!) went up to some well-wishers at Sandringham and basically asked them why are you here? It was rude and awkward of course from him, but it was a different kind of exchange.
At least he will never be seen again at events like this.

VictorianChic · 29/12/2025 19:54

The people who go to watch them walk to church are “obsessed” with royals on the whole though. John is not atypical. Perhaps he’s creepier than many of the others but they’re all on the oddball scale to an extent.

Andrew probably said in a coarse and rude way what his family members are thinking privately.

Agree. They are all peculiar.

But this normal for William. He’s been doing these walks for 40 years. He’s likely seen John at many events for decades.

He can no longer tell the difference between a fan and someone who has an unhealthy obsession.

And yet I had two posts deleted for pointing out this person’s obvious MH issues. He quit his job so he could sit in on the inquest on Diana’s death with ‘Diana and Dodi’ written in marker on his face. He slept out on a bench outside the hospital for eight nights for Prince George’s birth and again for Charlotte’s.

Exactly. And given cockandbull strongly criticised a poster for advance searching another poster only a few days ago. She suggested they were too involved in it all. Maybe take her own advice!

Oh I'm flattered 😂

CurlewKate · 29/12/2025 18:27

You don t have to link threads. You can simply c&p the criticism.

What does that mean? 🤷‍♀️

Then he is unable to keep his children safe and there should be others who step in to protect the children.

Your post was clear. The person seems to not want to understand. I would like @cockandbullstories and @jeffgoldblum to say what was said as I would report any posts criticising the children. I have reported posters for criticising royal children before (Louis and Lilibet) and the posts have been deleted.

Without links or knowing exactly what was said, we can’t report and can only conclude that it didn’t happen.

And saw William a couple of weeks ago and told him he would be giving him a self portrait of himself to commemorate Diana. He's a stalker. And I have no idea why William took the children over to introduce them to him.

This is a man who slept two weeks on a park bench outside the hospital where Kate was giving birth.
He needs help with his out of control obsession.

Oh I see. Look I know - as do you - you have talked about both George and Charlotte in a negative way relating to school and clothing. They are there. You also know that you have posted a great deal about how " complicated" Catherine's cancer was. You started the thread about Charlotte and Catherine playing the piano the other day but sadly you didn't get many fish taking your bait. If you really can't remember I would be having a bit of a think. You are of course entitled to your opinions which you are never shy about sharing. It's not my fault you don't remember.

Can you provide links to where she has talked about the children negatively or provide quotes or even just dates that we can look up and report? I always report anything critical of any child on here. I saw the piano thread and she didn’t say anything negative.

I have never criticised the children. Ever. And your reluctance to provide any evidence that I have shows you know that to be true. Saying that I think Eton is a rubbish choice for a apparently sensitive child, for example is not a criticism. Unless you think that saying a boy looks sensitive is a criticism. Which I know some people-I hope nobody on here- thinks it is.

I don't have advance searching. Ask MN if you don't believe me! Feel free. What I do have is a very good memory for things that people say and people who post a great deal in a certain way.

Well... you got it wrong about @CurlewKate so maybe your 'memory' isn't as accurate as you would like to think. Just because people aren't royalists and have different opinions, doesn't make them wrong.
I do remember you telling off a poster for doing an advance search on someone's posts. It wasn't long ago.

Is there a reason you don't have advance search? Everyone does. You don't have to pay a sub to MN to have it.

I imagine William is feeling virtuous about interacting with someone with obvious mental health problems. After all, it's one of his "things".

That this person has, let's say, an unhealthy obsession with William's dead mother, seems to be by the by.

And camping out for a week waiting for the births of William's children is another sign that all is not well with this man.

Every other celeb involves the police when they have people following them around, but not William! "Here children, let me introduce you to this man with mental health problems who's obsessed with us, and follows us around."

CurlewKate · 29/12/2025 21:12

cockandbullstories · 29/12/2025 17:57

I've just looked back at posts where she has. I don't think I'm allowed to link threads. It's there. Plain to see.

If you’ve “looked back” at posts you can show us those posts.
