”Producing” covers a multitude of sins. You can be completely hands on at one end (finance, casting etc etc), or merely chipping in a fiver at the other in return for a credit. It’s not directing as some posters seem to imagine.

The profits once all the costs are factored in, including staff time (because some of their staff wouldn't be needed if they lived a private life, Comms and PR for example would be much reduced).

Well, yes, it appears so.

They don't have to do anything publicly, they could live quietly on H's millions and fly under the radar. There would be some initial interest given it would be a radical change from them, but that would gradually die off.

But they put out press statements and publicity for their activities, they go.on talk shows and accept pay to.play awards. No reason why they shouldn't, that's their choice, but there's no need to unless they want to.

Let's be honest, they're being bankrolled by money from the late QM, KC, Diana's inheritance and by virtue of being royal.

Absolutely . There's nothing inherently wrong in wanting to be celebrities with that level of fame and lifestyle. I think they're just sometimes struggling to keep that going a bit. They're right to keep with the chat shows and tabloid/magazine stuff, but I think for longevity they're going to need to up their game a bit.
Maybe romcoms could be it? Who knows.

And since neither Meghan nor Hary have any expertise or experience in the tough world of content production, what makes you think this will do well?

They're wealthy by virtue of inherited royal wealth. Also making money from being royal.
