Come on . That’s tabloid gossip. No evidence she was focusing on tights and nail varnish or tiaras. There’s a basic dress code for women of a certain class that you don’t go out on bare legs with bright nail varnish. It’s basic etiquette at a social event which is high profile for that class.

Lownie’s book was a complete eye-opener to me, I was already pretty sceptical about the whole setup with royal finances and by the time I finished the book I actually felt sick. My opinion now is sinking lower by the day.
I think the late Queen was a very calculating and controlling figurehead, everyone jumped to her command and didn’t dare question.
I think she was manipulated and deceived by Andrew because he was her golden boy and could do no wrong. I suspect he lied and connived to keep her sweet and on his side.
Ferguson was able to ride on his coat tails, benefitting from the association and milking it for everything she could. I think the daughters aren’t far behind either.
One thing that really struck me was Lownie’s writing about the rooms full of unopened Amazon packages in their house. WTF is that about?
I read somewhere over the weekend that Marsh Farm is Andrew’s destination, two receptions and a kitchen. Oh how are the mighty fallen…..

I remember Cherie Blair's eBay addiction when in number 10. Extremely well paid barrister but couldn't resist 99p eBay tat, she had a room stuffed with rubbish.
SF has a shopping addiction she has spaffed millions.

I believe Lownie also said on one of his interviews that protection officers would tolerate his behaviour because they would get demoted and sent on a placement to the rough outer reaches of Croydon or equivalent (no offence intended to anyone who lives there) if they protested.

Agree. It would not have been worth their while to report him. They would have been ignored by the Royal Household and torpedoed their careers in the process. If someone had listened and made TLQ listen ( difficult) they wouldn't be in the bind they are in now. They have brought all this upon themselves. I doubt they have learnt their lesson. If Harry and William are anything to go by, their answer isn't more openness and accountability but both of them want more 'privacy' and less scrutiny- just on the basis they are Royals. Like they had in the 1950's.

Agree. the only difference being William gets all the loot and harry gets nothing (comparatively). But they are both exactly the same when it comes to their desire for the Royals to be take all the glory but not give anything back.
