My god, AMW was such a sleaze, he let the worst of the worst run riot through Buckingham Palace, Sandringham, Balmoral . I find it completely gobsmacking that the Palace are so so tight on security, image, hiding everything from the public they want hidden (for instance, QE2 funeral, directing BBC to chop bits like Sophie holding a handkerchief)

Andrew Lownie’s book makes reference to the house keeping staff who had to remove used condoms and tissues and other detritus from bathrooms.

My personal opinion is... pathetic. Surely a PPO should go to his boss and it should be escalated. He was dodging security, bringing people in according to the book. Why are people in such awe of this family? If there is a security issue, surely the superior to trained PPO's could make it be known that there's a problem, but everyone seemed scared of QE2 and didn't want to make waves.

I wish they would come out now and tell us what it was like managing him. As I say we won't know half of it.

I believe Lownie also said on one of his interviews that protection officers would tolerate his behaviour because they would get demoted and sent on a placement to the rough outer reaches of Croydon or equivalent (no offence intended to anyone who lives there) if they protested.

I hope Lownie’s paper back edition of his book delves into who knew what and how he was allowed to get away with it. Up to and including his late parents and siblings.

Many parts of Lownie's book stunned me, and many were passages that included the Queen. She accepted a horse from one of his dodgy friends. If they went to all the trouble of giving a horse to the Queen of England, I am sure it was up there in terms of quality and price.

Lownie’s book was a complete eye-opener to me, I was already pretty sceptical about the whole setup with royal finances and by the time I finished the book I actually felt sick. My opinion now is sinking lower by the day.
I think the late Queen was a very calculating and controlling figurehead, everyone jumped to her command and didn’t dare question.
I think she was manipulated and deceived by Andrew because he was her golden boy and could do no wrong. I suspect he lied and connived to keep her sweet and on his side.
Ferguson was able to ride on his coat tails, benefitting from the association and milking it for everything she could. I think the daughters aren’t far behind either.
One thing that really struck me was Lownie’s writing about the rooms full of unopened Amazon packages in their house. WTF is that about?
I read somewhere over the weekend that Marsh Farm is Andrew’s destination, two receptions and a kitchen. Oh how are the mighty fallen…..

Apparently it’s going to take till next October at the earliest for him to move out because of the amount of clutter and hoarding in RL. Rooms full of stuff and Amazon packages are arriving constantly even now. They are just beyond avaricious and it disgusts me.
