Here's a summary for you - it's full of British traditions like cracker pulling which she explains 🙄 , how to decorate a tree with lights and wearing matching pyjamas with her friends. Harry appears for the last 5 mins.

Make up or a perfume brand would be a good call for her. She’s stunning. But she needs to find a lane and stick to it, not to try and reinvent the wheel.

I don't think she's stunning - pretty, yes, but not stunning. She doesn't come with the best brand image at a wide level, so it would be hard to know what her target audience would be that would elevate her beyond any number of other pretty (and younger) influencers. Plus I'm not sure that advertising foundation is quite what she envisaged when she married into the RF.

I don’t think she’s stunning. She scrubs up well but she’s not stunning.

I would also put her in the 'attractive' rather than 'stunning' category, but that in itself wouldn't be a disadvantage. It would make her 'relatable' and 'aspirational' rather than unattainbly beautiful.

I think what stands against her would be, as you suggest, the fact that she is an 'older woman' by beauty industry standards, and also that she doesn't have a large fan base. Her 'squad' make a lot of noise on social media, but the low audiences for her projects indicate there's not actually that many of them. Her Instagram followers are in the low millions, which is quite low considering her fame. It's not at all obvious what her target demographic would be, nor does she have any real background in cosmetics, other than being famous and pretty. That's simply not enough.

I can’t see any high end brands wanting to associate with her.

Hoolahoophop · 10/12/2025 08:35

Her looks seem perfect for perfume or makeup to me, in my head she is similar to Kira Knightly who is symmetrically, quantifiably attractive

But beauty is so subjective I think Kate Winslet, is pretty and glowy and fun and the attractiveness is boosted by something in her personality.

Angelina Jolie is such a hot beauty.

Catherine Zeta-Jones I think is the most beautiful of beautiful women of my generation.

But another person may totally disagree.

However with Meghan, perhaps because of her chameleon like changes of character played out she is literally a lovely canvas to sell your makeup and perfume from.

That said depending on what she has been up to recently her PR may put a stop to a career as a canvas.

I'm not sure that's quite the concept that major cosmetic houses are going for!

If so, why haven't they grabbed the chance to use Meghan's 'canvas' at any point over the past 5 years?

Is Meghan popular in the US?. I think she'd have to be to secure a contract with a global makeup/perfume brand.

MissFenellaPrism · 10/12/2025 08:57

I think perfume companies like to use women who are glamorous and who other women associate with success, like Cate Blanchett, Charlize Theron, Marion Cotillard, Natalie Portman etc.
I don't think Meghan is on that same level of glamour, success and likeability.
Plus advertisers like the people to have at least some credibility to associate with their product.

meghansturkey · 10/12/2025 08:58

She made it clear that she wasn't making any more TV specials like this but wanted to create short bursts. Think she saw the writing on the wall. "She is focused on pace, presence, and protecting her energy, wanting to avoid being "spread thin" with "busywork"." 😉

"protecting her energy"
😂

PullTheBricksDown · 10/12/2025 09:02

Perfume is a tricky sell because it's intangible in the advert so it's really about the vibe projected by the celebrity. Not just about them looking good. I don't know what vibe a perfume company would see Meghan bringing to the party.

Talltreesbythelake · 10/12/2025 09:03

Lol at busywork. She is a pretentious fool. Every time she says anything it shows that she is empty inside. This Netflix deal was worth millions, they had every chance to succeed. They chose their own topics and pursued their own passions. But instead of working hard to build something real she did "busywork" and wasted the opportunity that others would have given everything for. Grifters indeed.

MissFenellaPrism · 10/12/2025 09:12

There's a new advert for J'adore Dior perfume, with Rihanna. Wow - she is absolutely stunning and high octane glamour!
That'll sell it!

ThePoshUns · 10/12/2025 09:19

Yes the Rhianna Dior ad is fabulous, she is such a queen

Mymanyellow · 10/12/2025 09:19

These two had the world at their feet. They were well liked,I’d go as far to say Harry was loved, and they absolutely fucked it all up.
Couldn't cut it in the RF didn’t grasp the hierarchy. They had a great Netflix deal, nope couldn’t do that. Who’s the opposite of King Midas?
As far as I’m aware the only member of either family that still have anything to do with them is Doria. They can’t be right and everyone else wrong.

Does her character change? I think it's pretty set actually - the environment she operates in may change, but her character behaves in a pretty consistent way.

Tontostitis · 10/12/2025 09:28

Coffeeishot · 03/12/2025 11:35

It is an "aspirational " nonsense programme of nothingness, Netflix have commissioned her to make nonsense. It is no different to Kirsty allsop making twee Christmas programmes on ch4,

Do not diss Kirstie she's an intrinsic part of British Christmas and in no way should ever be associated with the duplicitous duo.

Theresabatinmykitchen · 10/12/2025 09:32

I think her looks are over egged by some, of course she is attractive but considering she was in Suits when she was in her prime looks wise, her looks didn’t really take her that far, Suits and the Reitmans advert were her peak, she was just another pretty face amongst many many other pretty faces with nothing extra to offer, hence not becoming a Hollywood success.

MissFenellaPrism · 10/12/2025 09:34

You've got to have that little bit extra to be a Hollywood success, don't you? Charm and personality as well as looks.

Hoolahoophop · 10/12/2025 09:48

SirChenjins · 10/12/2025 09:26

Does her character change? I think it's pretty set actually - the environment she operates in may change, but her character behaves in a pretty consistent way.

I think what I was trying to say is that she would like to be all things to all people. The super focused business woman, the Feminist fighting for woman's rights, the present Mum who has time to make lunch with love notes, nature lover and gardener, cook, beauty and fashion icon, girl next door who makes her own Christmas decorations, jet setting philanthropist. So many identities you could pick one to go with. So yes, character was the wrong word.

Physically I think personally she is very attractive in a way that her face can be used to portray each of these different identities at will. Some people will only look one way, some will be beautiful but homely, some beautiful and powerful, some beautiful and sexy. Meghan's face is the kind that can wear different looks, so she makes an excellent model. A face that is striking and somehow forgettable if that makes sense.

Of course if you are buying in a personality not a face to front your brand then it may need a specific identity rather than lots of confused ones.

MissFenellaPrism · 10/12/2025 09:57

Well. She's certainly no feminist.
Maybe more of a Trad Wife?

Theresabatinmykitchen · 10/12/2025 10:09

I think what you mean @Hoolahoophop is that she has quite generic looks that are adaptable, which is useful for a certain brand of commercial modelling, she wouldn’t be suitable as a catwalk or editorial model which the HB cover and pictures showed.

Horses7 · 10/12/2025 10:15

What a waste these two are - they could have done loads for the commonwealth and the Royal Family.
I think W&K are better off without them tbh - Meagain would have tried to outshine everyone but especially Kate.
Almost all the country thought MM was a breath of fresh air - I know I did. Now she is selling pancake batter and sprinkling dead flowers on stuff.

I'd expect that the "twerking" killed that ... once seen you can't un-see it and it's hardly high end or aspirational

Kudos to her for trying, but basically the better opportunities seem over, and they're not exactly on the breadline so will just have to manage like the rest of us
