Here's a summary for you - it's full of British traditions like cracker pulling which she explains 🙄 , how to decorate a tree with lights and wearing matching pyjamas with her friends. Harry appears for the last 5 mins.

And I agree with this. My opinion is not one of envy.

And yes, I won't derail any further, again sorry OP.

Do you?
because as someone who has casually read your posts it doesn’t seem like it.
catherine wearing a pair of earrings previously worn that were gifted to her by her parents certainly seems to have upset you.

Recently I have been getting a lot of Jennifer Anniston reels on my feed, her reels work because she comes across so naturally, I can’t imagine Meghan ever coming across like this, Jennifer is a huge multi million dollar star yet somehow manages to come across as relatable, genuine and likeable, I don’t think Meghan could ever achieve that, and that is her problem, she comes across as a fake and people don’t like fakes

I think because her ‘celebrity’ has kind of taken over that people forget that Jennifer Aniston has very good comedic timing and is a good actor who honed her craft over ten years on Friends.

She might be awful in person but she’s never broken from her cheerful self deprecating persona in public.

I think you would be better off living in a Communist country - oh wait though they don't work either despite their grand principles. There's always inequality.

Indeed! If I may quote Robin Hood prince of thieves a moment?!
“do you think the sheriff will return everything after I’m gone? , No he will stretch your ungrateful necks one by one!”

Lets not derail any further. Happy to agree to disagree.

Sorry but I have to say, I am accused of hating Kate on here, yet you all seem to have no issue bashing Meghan. And I'm no fan of hers, so please don't Sussex Squad me.

For all any of us knows, I guess she could be awful in person.

However, over the 3 decades that she's been a big star, nobody who has worked with her has a bad word to say about her and she has close friendships going back many years. She handled the Brangelina split, where she was derided as a barren loser next to the goddess that is Jolie, with great dignity.

And yes, she's also a very good comedy actress.

Meghan has none of Aniston's talent, discretion or ability to form strong friendships. Totally different class.

I will always have an opinion on a bunch of people who have amassed huge private wealth while 'serving' the public. Who are funded by the public.

Wealthy people, celebrities can do what they want with their own earned wealth.

That's the difference.

The aristocracy were the movers and shakers of this country throughout history. They shaped and created it. To think they just sat on their arses and money grew round them magically like a giant tree or something is rubbish. Im.not condoning an elite, but to portray them as a bunch of chinless wonders who had nothing directly to do with engineering their status at the top of the pile is entirely inaccurate. They were hugely intelligent and physically able over many generations . You dont get to be top of the tree by being a thick wimp. The royal family didnt just land up out of nowhere fifty years ago or something like that.

World's apart. Jen has worked for what she's achieved, big difference.

Well clearly I have, because this thread wasn’t about Catherine, her earrings or your republican leanings, and it was you who introduced the derailment and because you didn’t like the answer s to your post you are now backing out and blaming others for something you started.
and to add I see you are now using the tired troupe of bashing Meghan, denying being a fan and saying that you have been accused of hating Catherine! 🤷‍♀️

My2cents1975 · 06/12/2025 17:32

I am reminded of a line in Terry Pratchett's novel Guards! Guards!

"There was a thoughtful pause in the conversation as the assembled Brethren mentally divided the universe into the deserving and the undeserving, and put themselves on the appropriate side"

A certain poster is deserving to inherit parental wealth. Others...well, they are the underserving who must be split from their wealth to benefit society.

I have backed out of this thread as I admit it shouldn't have been derailed any further. I answer pretty much all opposite opinions but so there's no backing out but it's not the right thread any further.

It's not a tired troupe at all. It's the truth. And yes I was accused of hating Kate, I was accused of being some other poster who name changes. Read my previous posts, I am consistent in my postings, my views, I hate neither Meghan or Kate or support either.

CheeseIsMyIdol · 06/12/2025 17:45

I just watched the first bit of Meghan's holiday effort and just can't. Skipping through a tree farm to the Beach Boys (in California, how cliche') is just so tacky. She's pushing 50, not 15.

There's zero originality and frankly the production values are a lot lower than I expected. What was Netflix thinking?

If that’s the case why then did you join this fairly obvious thread and post snide comments about the carol service and Catherine’s earrings then?
I hadn’t seen any posts by you before then (on this thread).
seems odd to me .🤷‍♀️

MrsLizzieDarcy · 06/12/2025 17:56

I just can't warm to her. There's something just so forced, and on camera it is even more magnified. I almost feel a bit sorry for her, she came into the RF without Harry making protocol/history/traditions really clear to her and she floundered in an environment she had absolutely no control over. They should have had a 2 or 3 year long engagement so she got her feet wet before committing fully, and I equally blame the RF and Harry for that.

It's pretty clear that she values fame above all else, but she's in grave danger of finding infamy instead. I could only watch a few minutes of her show and it nearly gave me a dental cavity. Nothing in her pretend house or pretend world felt genuine.

MaturingCheeseball · 06/12/2025 17:59

I’ve just watched it. Quite boring. Highlight (or lowlight) was Harry’s hair! Wth was going on? Bits and patches all over the place. Just lose it, man!

Sadly it’s now apparently clear that somehow Harry is completely clueless and unaware of these facts too! Which is quite shocking considering it’s his family, I’m not sure he could have helped Meghan at all , for all we know maybe he did but with all the wrong information.

If you look back prior to my first post, people were discussing the carol service, it was that simple.

I wasn't being snide. I said the carol service seemed like a very positive thing. I wasn't being snide to Kate personally, it was the £12k earrings, something all the royals do, spend excessively. I gave as much back up as I could to why I feel what I do about the royals. If you want to accuse me of something, I am negative about the institution, not the players in it.

"£12k for bloody earrings!" sounded a bit personal, you must admit.

MissFenellaPrism · 06/12/2025 18:23

Anyway, I thought we were back on track?

CheeseIsMyIdol · 06/12/2025 18:30

I forced myself to watch the "gougers" segment just now.

OMG. I have never heard her voice before - so low-class, slangy, nasally try-hard. She's desperate to appear hip and cool and modern and off-handedly savvy. But the vibe is horrific.

That guest of hers, some chef (?) is less animated than people in hostage videos. He has "WTF am I doing here?" in every facial expression, tone of voice and comment. Bewildered, impatient, pained. It's all just so forced and fake!

Her claws squeezing and kneading the goopy "reindeer chow" literally make my stomach turn. Gloves, anyone? Spoon? Kitchen Aid mixer? Why does she have to dig her hands into that bowl of sticky mess? I've never seen any real cook or baker do that, except when kneading dough.

Not to mention talking about family and memories and all that claptrap while in someone else's kitchen! How phony.

It certainly wasn't meant to sound personal. It's the bloody price of the earrings as opposed to who wore them.

I would have said something about the cost of a certain engagement dress or the 12/15m reportedly paid by QE on behalf of her son, the cost of various weddings.

I sound like a right kill joy but hopefully you catch my drift.
