She's a beautiful woman but i can't understand why she just doesn't drop the titles and be herself. And it's odd how she talks about how much 'H' loves her but not how much she loves him.

Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, Meets Her Moment

After years of being subsumed by other people’s narratives, she's ready to author her own next chapter

Oh you mean " vintage" jam holders 😂😂😂

I'd call them 'jam pots for people who don't do their own washing up'.

garlicandsapphires · 23/11/2025 20:49

Nothing original, nothing new, just more sodding blueberries and raspberries.
She’s so boring it’s fascinating. It feels like she’s trolling.

ThePoshUns · 23/11/2025 20:57

Literally putting out yogurt , fruit, jam and frozen pancakes. And weirdly heating up
a quiche . So lazy.
My guests get eggs, bacon, sausages, toast, a pot of tea.

PigglyWigglyOhYeah · 23/11/2025 21:12

Frozen pancakes?! Fuck off. Pancakes are eggs, milk and flour. They take seconds to prepare and seconds to cook. I am mystified as to why , for starters, anyone would need a UPF pancake mix full of inedible chemicals and I really don't understand why anyone would ever put a factory produced frozen pancake into their mouth. And I really don't understand why a bloody Duchess, who has herself announced in an empty house and is so terribly grand she refers to herself as HRH when sending notes to friends, would think her visitors would enjoy having this mass produced slop flung at them for breakfast. I know the late Queen kept cereal in tupperware, but I'm pretty sure her guests would also get freshly cooked, proper food rather than crap from the frozen aisle in Farm Foods. She's so tacky.

BasiliskStare · 23/11/2025 21:16

I can't get over just how all shades of wrong quiche is for breakfast. But I suspect that is my problem , not being an international domestic goddess. 😊

ThePoshUns · 23/11/2025 21:23

It’s a very anaemic quiche as well

Indianrollerbird · 23/11/2025 21:23

If I know we are having visitors for a few days, I'll make a big batch of scones (sweet and savory), get some good bagels in, fresh berries, greek yoghurt, nuts and dark chocolate, eggs, bacon, slow roast tomatoes in the oven, decent jam, marmalade and local honey from a friend who keeps bees. Pancakes for the kids or waffles in the waffle maker from fresh ingredients. Juices, coffee, tea. It's not rocket science. She's unbelievably basic for someone who professes everything she does is "elevated". But that's Meghan. Stick some flower sprinkles on some processed crap and crow that you've "shown up" - the culinary equivalent of polishing a turd.

thenightsky · 23/11/2025 21:34

pancakes are eggs, flour and milk. What on earth is in a 'pancake mix'?

canklesmctacotits · 23/11/2025 21:51

Just saw that overlit advert where, uncharacteristically, Meghan seemed to be almost NOT looking at the camera. So weird.

In her defense, quiche for breakfast is a very suburban American thing. It’s odd in the UK but here people have hash browns, shakshuka. quiche, chicken and waffles for breakfast. Mind you, none of these things are in any way elevated: quiche is literally a way to use up odd bits of veg and protein and nobody is making their own pastry.

Add to that the excessive sweetness of all that honey and jam/spread, frozen pancakes which are made with added sugar, premade waffles (hers come in packs of 8 from Whole Foods and would be excessively sweet to the British palette): this is the very picture of a Motel 8 buffet breakfast. Sorry, but it’s not anything any self-respecting, semi-capable home cook would put out for breakfast.

As ever, with Meghan, all style and no substance - and not even that stylish with that straggly hair falling into her food and her fingers all over the unwashed fruit. I don’t know who she thinks she’s talking to: someone for whom Cheerios and milk would be an achievement? A good cook? A rich person? A working mom? A single woman? Nothing in this advert would work for any of that demographic. And the reason is because it hasn’t been designed to appeal to anyone. It’s been designed as a showboat for Meghan Markle, and the excruciating thing is just how dull, basic and uninteresting it is.

Yes! I have a lovely, ensuite guest bedroom too. I promise you I will not make you use homemade bath salts!

Pancake mix is a very American thing - DH was v surprised when I made the ‘mix’ from
the basic ingredients we already had in the house.

A late weekend / breakfast brunch here though is a big buffet affair so a warm quiche is not out of place.

Beesandhoney123 · 23/11/2025 23:29

They both seem very bored. And acting as if they've been banished, not left of their own accord.

They really need to get a job. Harry I could see driving a tractor or at least working as a farm hand. Not boss. He would feel a sense of achievement.

Meghan, I don't know. I think wherever she goes, she creates drama and attention seeks. I can't imagine her in a job and just enjoying her day without over analysing every second and then telling everyone all about it in massive flowery details.

It's all very jilly cooper

I think MM who is one of those people who are tenacious and relentless seeking their way to the top. We have seen her do this in her education and then in her acting career. She always had the drive to keep hauling herself up that ladder one step at a time.

However when she started dating PH she had catapulted herself into the stratosphere socially and I don’t think she knew any other way to be - so kept on grasping and grifting - she doesn’t have an off switch because nothing is ever ‘enough’.

I also believe she had zero intention in staying in the UK - Hollywood A list / Cali life was always her end goal. She still had her US lawyers, talent agents and PR agents representing her during her time in the UK. No doubt each of them were cutting deals and feeding her info of the riches that lay ahead for her and them.

I was left thinking...WIMD (what is Meredith doing????!!!!)

The tradwife brand is one where said tradwife lovingly prepares wholesome food from fresh ingredients with no preservatives. See Ballerina Farms. Highly processed frozen foods are the complete opposite of the brand aesthetic! Even worse as previous posters have pointed out, M retails her own white label pancake mix. This is a such a missed opportunity to promote her pancake mix.

As for the runny spread...least said soonest mended so I will limit my comment to this...that ain't no jam!

Where on earth is the professional PR advice? The Global Press Secretary letting such sub-standard dated reels go live on social media? What exactly are the army of folks being paid to do if this Katastrophe (sweet nod to the Kardashians) is the end result?

BemusedAmerican · 24/11/2025 02:25

At the risk of completely horrifying everyone, my guests get real NYC bagels with butter or cream cheese. I hate jam, and eat my morning toast with cheddar. I also provide coffee and tea.

Quiche is popular as brunch food. I've ordered it as an alternative to an omelet.

You can buy frozen waffles, French toast, and pancakes. Since I don't like a sweet breakfast, I never buy them. I also bake cakes from scratch and don't buy frozen food since I like to cook. However, based on what I see at Trader Joe's most millenialscand Gen Z like frozen breakfast items.

I've just seen Meghan's latest ad on Instagram where she talks about a buffet breakfast....not that she calls it a buffet.. It's breakfast "stations".

She says that if you don't want to make pancakes just get them from the freezer section.... Now, is she not selling pancake mix? Is this not a real disconnect with her own products?

The HONEY, ugh, talk about flogging a dead horse. I have had an earworm of Paul Simon's 50 Ways to Leave your Lover, with my poor brain insisting it's 50 ways to use my honey. I thought the ultimate nastiness had been reached with drizzling on hot turkey, but no, she is very inventive.

Is that not just posh leftover cold pizza ?

:-)

It does seem like another sly hit piece from a journalist who can't quite stomach the self-regard and grandiosity. There are at least two instances in the article where someone has to announce Meghan as the Duchess of Sussex. It reminds me of that bit in her lifestyle show where she's all 'It's Sussex now! (And don't you dare forget it, bitch!)' She wants to be seen as a self-made girl boss, an inspiring philanthropist, a barefoot, laid-back free-spirit while simultaneously insisting on the red carpet treatment that has clearly been her life's true ambition, and that is why she never really manages to pull off any of her projects.

Agree!

Flour… you add your own milk and eggs 😁

I’m guessing there is dried milk and eggs in it.

I agree. I think boredom is at the heart of a lot of their problems. They obviously feel massively aggrieved that they are on the outside of the RF now, even though it was their choice. They’re like people hanging off the side of a ship , having decided to jump but realising they’re about to drown. They’re jealous as hell of W and C and bitter and angry that the riches and perks etc are out of their reach now.

I think they’re just flailing around desperately trying to stay relevant. The whole thing doesn’t feel like it’s being steered in any way which makes me think Meredith may have left without it being made public.
