She's a beautiful woman but i can't understand why she just doesn't drop the titles and be herself. And it's odd how she talks about how much 'H' loves her but not how much she loves him.

Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, Meets Her Moment

After years of being subsumed by other people’s narratives, she's ready to author her own next chapter

The leaving announcement ( again). Read and cringe

God that leaving announcement is awful...I'm cringing for them.
And their children haven't been to the UK in years... They will have no appreciation at all of the traditions of the royal family.

Remember the old "Roman Empire" trend?
I've just asked DH if he loves me "boldly".
There was the usual "Huh? What now?" look, then he said "That doesn't actually mean anything".
No, I said, go on - try. In what circumstances would you say that?
"I don't know" he said "maybe if you were someone controversial like Jimmy Saville it would be bold to love you - but I wouldn't love you if you were Jimmy Saville".
I explained why I was asking and an expression of weary understanding crossed his face.
"Well it obviously doesn't mean anything, does it?".
He's returned to his chess book.

Meghan’s new makeup seems to be courtesy of Victoria Jackson. I’m not sure if she has carried it off as successfully as they’d hoped as the front cover isn’t great.

She’s a lovely woman but very few can carry off the no makeup make up look well enough to be the face of a new brand. But perhaps she’s enough for the target infomercial target audience who probably don’t subscribe to Harpers.

I can imagine her quite at home on QVC (shades of Sarah Ferguson) selling copies of her aquamarine ring. Her on line portal doesn’t seem to be shifting sock so perhaps her natural home is on informercials with Victoria Jackson

I love that she manages to get under so many peoples skin. The press can't help themselves and the public just eat the shit up. I feel quite indifferent towards her. They have to make money somehow and maybe if I were in her postion I would do similar, I'm not sure.

I struggle to see how Catherine Middleton and workshy William get a far easier ride with both the press and public?

Would you really rather shill this kind of stuff? Meghan could do something else, and frankly she must know that she doesn't have the profile to do lifestyle shows or podcasts or films apart from bit parts.
Surely it gets boring? Rehashing the same stuff all the time & coasting on the title?

She should get a worthwhile job. It is possible.

I think Shabana has a tough workload to get through right now, as if Harry would even appear on her register.

Do you think he’s going through the stages of grief over his old life? He can’t seem to accept the royal trappings are over for good.

  • denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance

He’s definitely been through denial and anger about the loss of his princely privileges. I think he’s moved onto bargaining…..not releasing that he is in no position to bargain.

There's no need for Harry to appear on Mahmood's list of things to do, Atlasvue, because as everyone except him has realised it's all been thoroughly thrashed out and decided already

Interesting point about the grief stages of denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance though, and if this is right I agree he seems to be in the bargaining phase ... which just leaves the worrying thought of what happens when he gets to the depression part

Either way I'd be very surprised if he's an easy man to live with right now

AtIusvue · 22/11/2025 19:36

Agree, I think he must be incredibly moody and a pain in the arse to live with.

I like to picture Anne's reaction to Meghan's statements. The two Christmases Meghan had with the royal family must have provided some memorable moments.

I am picturing Carole Middleton...

I think to be fair to H he has been brought up in a bubble and cosseted and I think even his mother thought he wasn't the sharpest knife in the block. But FFS sake he's middle aged now - does no WRF duties which nowadays = no automatic security paid for by the government other than on official business . If he's trying to get more security other than the current RAVEC stipulation by the back door , he's even dimmer than I thought and more entitled than he's entitled to be. 😊 I hope the Home Secretary , if he has written to her , just files it in the bin.

God, an absolute nightmare. Occasionally I actually feel sorry for Meghan, will that utter fool for a husband.
I remember a thread where a poster met Harry a few years back in a nightclub. She said he was rude and boorish and reeked of fags and booze.

Can you imagine? He comes to the UK for his court case about security. Gets told what's what. Comes home to Megs and the kids. Strops about, whining and whinging and throwing stuff. Urgh.

I think you’ve hit the nail on the head here. He is trying to get all year round security paid for by the taxpayer through the back door. He made it plain before that he never expected his security to be rescinded and told Meg this. It’s so obvious to everyone but him.

Not really. Her body language, including her facial expressions when things are not going her way, isn't beautiful by any definition I would recognise. There is an old idiom, 'Pretty is, as pretty does...' which is made for people just like her.

The quote is, handsome is as handsome does. And what you've just said doesn't negate the fact that you were hypocritical.

I studied Chaucer at school many years ago, thanks. You call me a hypocrite. I call you pedantic. Neither cares what the other person thinks. The end.

Always interesting to hear a personal encounter. Intake it this was pre Meghan?
