She's a beautiful woman but i can't understand why she just doesn't drop the titles and be herself. And it's odd how she talks about how much 'H' loves her but not how much she loves him.

Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, Meets Her Moment

After years of being subsumed by other people’s narratives, she's ready to author her own next chapter

HRTFT, will save it for later when I have a coffee in hand and can sit down undisturbed. This HB piece is DELICIOUS. Just a couple of initial thoughts:

  • like me, Meghan needs make up to not look perpetually exhausted. Of course she's wearing a fuckton to look like this in print, but really she just looks exhausted and not in a supermodel kind of way. She's cosplaying a model (didn't she put on one of her CVs as a jobbing actress that she was a supermodel?) and it has completely backfired
  • the quote about I'm not perfect (we know, love - and don't think we don't know you're poking at Kate the apparent Stepford Wife) and I get to make mistakes too is sooooo misguided. As a woman with almost unique visibility, unearned opportunities handed to her on a plate by virtue of who she married, years in showbiz, money coming out of her ears, people falling over themselves to attach themselves to her with offers of advice and guidance....no, you don't get to make mistakes. You just look like a tool, someone who couldn't bake a basic sponge when handed butter, flour, sugar and eggs and a recipe written in crayon
  • I keep saying it but the whole "he loves me so much" thing is beyond creepy. I think that actually she finds him a drag. I think what she's saying is "he needs me for every little thing, I have to think for two people"
  • I also think that she's DELIBERATELY trying to cosplay being an out-of-touch rich and aristocratic woman because that's what she aspires to. She wants to be the sort of 40-something year old who grew up with untold luxuries and riches, to the extent that at this point in her life she's completely over it, wants to strip it back to being a barefoot duchess and utterly relatable. She actively wants people to think she's untouchable, haughty, ranked and not linked, and she goes about this by emphasizing how ordinary she is while being introduced to an empty room as a duchess. She's sooooo transparent!

Anyway, off out now. Keep it up ladies, the first few posts were fire. He loves me so "baldly" 😂.

I'm a bit like a hostess sometimes, when I'm trolley-ed.

(I know that hyphen isn't really needed but the word looked like "troll eyed" without it and I don't want to cast aspersions on anyone's beautiful peepers)

😂😂

What does “loves me boldly” even mean? I wouldn't like to imagine. Maybe she likes to slap his rear afterwards.Smile 🏇

What evidence do you have that she's 'smart'?

I'm not talking about getting a supporting role in a cable TV drama 15 years ago. I'm talking about how she's managed her royal and post royal life. Which of her decisions over the past 7 years suggest that she is 'smart'?

I don’t understand this “smart” narrative, I suppose if you are easily impressed with over the top word salad which never has any meaning at all you would consider her “smart” but most savvy people can see it for the nonsense it is and can judge her actions as being anything but smart, in fact quite the opposite.

I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if Harry and Meghan did try to sue to prevent their titles being taken off them, I mean she’s already let that slip out there.

the tantrum would be epic.

I am totally here for that 🍿

It's all a bit Jilly Cooper. I said a silent prayer to Elizabeth Arden, as he took me boldly with his oscillating manhood.

Meghan didn't invent the term Waity Katie, nor was it just the tabloids, people used it on Mumsnet too. Interestingly royal threads used to have a lot more varied opinions than now.

Did anyone say Meghan invented the term?
and I see you had to go back to 2010 and a thread about their wedding announcement.
ps the thread title was actually used by particular newspapers .

Doesn’t North Western only take the top 10 per cent?

Maybe people are comparing her to Harry?

Let's face it, next to him just about anyone would look 'smart'.

But the mere fact that she married Harry undermines the claim that she is 'smart'. Women tend to marry men who are at least their equals in intellect and educational attainments. 'Smart' women don't marry dim men.

SloughResident · 21/11/2025 15:05

A lot of people are a bit skeptical of VB as a business woman but she is very beautiful and stylish Can't see it at all,I think she looks like ET. I don't get the hype about DB either, he's easy on the eye but those tattoos are hideous.

Someone said it was only used by tabloids and thats incorrect.

Anyway notably linked in that thread was this - the official start of the royal family board with a post from Justine agreeing to set it up - I had wondered when this separate RF board came about!

No idea, but you can do well in Education and still be incredibly stupid, Meghan is a fine example of that.

Funny how those who "think they are shit" can't stay away from this board, isn't it?

I don't think VB is beautiful either. David Beckham was very handsome as a young man but someone described his current look as that of a strip club bouncer. I can't shake that image now!

However, VB does have a very definite style which she works hard on. It's not to my taste but lots of people like that pared back 'high fashion' look. VB is very consistent with it and has been since jettisoning the WAG aesthetic of heavy eyeliner, hair extensions and bodycon dresses. Meghan does not have the discipline to adhere to a particular style. Even when she's wearing nice outfits, she often styles them poorly. I think this is why no major designer would want to work with her.

Indeed ! , I’m not sure if this proves what they think it does 🤔

FenellaFeldman · 21/11/2025 15:13

Also, major designers want to work with women who others find aspirational. Someone glamorous, successful, an achiever in some area.
So, it's highly unlikely that a major designer would use Meghan.

Where has she denigrated the royal family?

Oh come on

Justdancevance · 21/11/2025 15:20

VB’s companies are still over £77 million of cumulative losses. Despite a huge marketing and promotion push, the small profits of her make up brand 500k don’t offset current year losses from her clothes.

I’ve no idea how they would get a price of 100m.

Benjithedog · 21/11/2025 15:22

AtIusvue · 21/11/2025 10:21

Anybody else get the feeling Meg has shifted gear?

It’s clear she’s ingratiated herself with the Hollywood elite- schmoozing at the BH hotel, being there to be seen etc. Harry, seems to be a tag along while she has completely given up the facade of any sort of dignity and is now on full on celeb mode. The fashion branding is straight from the Kardashian playbook.

They were ridiculed and Kim stated designers wouldn’t loan anything to her. Kanye and his fashion connections got her into the fashion world/MET gala etc. Kim was now a part of that world and now collabs with many designers. She’s now a billionaire. It’s no surprise Meg has sidled up to them.

Theres no pretence her work is about producing programmes with Archewell for her first look deal, or charity work with the foundation. She dropped her business podcast because she’s too busy. She’s phoning in for As ever.

The magazine article was all about brand Meg- not actually what she’s doing. It was how fab she is in all her designer gear and how amazing she is at everything. Just pointless celeb hot air.

She’s always been about self promotion but this is a different level. It’s clear how much of a social climber she is and how she is willing to befriend anyone to get where she wants.

So where does that leave Harry? She’s checked out of their joint ventures. It’s just about her now. When those titles go….so will Harry…..with the ring in the post.

Seems to me most are staying away given the current slant of this board.

But in the same vein, funny how those who dislike Meghan (for whatever 'reasons') can't stay away from articles/shows about her, isn't it?

Justdancevance · 21/11/2025 15:23

Meghan doesn’t dress for her size and shape, so designers would be reluctant to let he wear their clothes. I remember the designer Tom Ford bemoaning Victoria Beckham wearing his clothes but as she was buying them there was nothing he could do (fashion Babylon)

SloughResident · 21/11/2025 15:27

She does, but she looks unhealthily thin, she has had 'work' done and her hairstyle does nothing for her.
