never noticed the bad bras

No doubt she looked exceedingly well in it but I’m sad to say I’m not a fan of the big shoulder look!!
traumatised from my 80s childhood no doubt!

That’s one of the great things about style and fashion, we don’t all have to like the same things. But I think we can all agree that Catherine looked absolutely amazing, whether we personally loved the dress or not.

Take the red cape dress, for example. I really wasn’t a fan… but then the photos came out and the world went crazy over her legs.

She does, it was the same when she was on official visits, you could see the ill fitting bras underneath her clothes, it really spoiled some nice dresses.

Foundation garments can really make or break an outfit. Any competent stylist would have that worked out.

Indianrollerbird · 12/11/2025 18:09

She's worn black separates that don't match when photographed a couple of times now too. She's the daughter of a lighting director, she should try to understand how she photographs when she does this and try to avoid non-matching block colours. It does her no favours and cuts her otherwise nice figure at a most unflattering point.

Serena's dress looks just like one Catherine wore too!

Shame Meghan didn't change into something more glam if Harry was changing anyway.

Yes, it’s the party of the year with wall to wall celebrities and billionaire business people. The type of event that she would really want to be seen at, yet she didn’t think to bring a change of outfit that was more suited to the occasion - very odd.

Even us civilians without stylists know underwear can make of break an outfit , it’s baffling that someone who has been in the industry even pre royal days doesn’t know that, stylist or no stylist.

I think she's done something similar with different shades of white too. Though I think it's worse with black as it makes the 'lighter' garment look greyish and faded. This is something, again, that any professional stylist would point out to her. Which makes me think that either Meghan doesn't have a stylist or, as so often, she thinks she knows better.

bottledboot · 12/11/2025 18:15

Perhaps she just liked the outfit 🤷🏻‍♀️

I don't always wear colours and styles that flatter me the most. That would be boring & I love fashion. I can't think of any celeb who does tbh.

I agree! Red should mean I’m going to like this but no , to be fair though I can’t see much from that angle!

Is it not working for her? Plenty like her style.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 12/11/2025 18:18

The other Balenciaga white outfit also had different whites, not a good look wearing Balenciaga in the first place with its suggestion of paedophilia images in its advertising campaign, yet she chose to wear their designs again.

bottledboot · 12/11/2025 18:18

And plenty of celebs with stylists get it wrong!

NewAgeNewMe · 12/11/2025 18:18

Maybe the outfit she’d planned to wear got something spilt on and they had to leave. Has happened to me.

Dh doesn’t understand why If I’m going to a glam event, that we have to be away for, I have a back up dress or two just in case.

Last time I forgot to pack my main shoes but luckily had packed the spares!

I doubt any other major fashion house is offering to dress her. The Balenciaga outfits were probably freebies.

I know I will be piled on for saying this but Meghan needs better fitting bras .

This.

I enjoy watching videos discussing outfits, and one I follow mentioned that she thinks Meghan probably wears a different bra to fittings than she does to the actual events, which could explain why some outfits end up looking off. A lot of her dresses seem to sag or sit oddly around the chest and torso.

The idea is that she might try on a strapless dress with a strap bra, or wear a padded strapless for the fitting and then switch to an unpadded one for the event. It makes sense when you think about it, as the extra padding adds volume around the chest, and if the dress was fitted when she had full support from a strap bra, it can fall differently without that support. If she had been fitted in a strapless bra from the start, the dress would have been structured to provide the right support in the first instance.

It’s only a theory of course but it’s quite a convincing one.

Yes more than likely though the brand really doesn’t fit in with their children’s online safety message, seems all that goes out the window when a freebie is on offer.

I really disliked that red outfit on Catherine, to me it looked like she was a member of the Vatican!

🤣

If it wasn’t for the leg slip I think it would have faded into obscurity or even notoriety like Meghan’s red dress.

Luckily having a nice pair of legs will save you from ridicule 💃🏻🦵🏻

It's the classic rule from wedding dress fitting, isn't it. Only get fitted in the underwear you'll be wearing on the day.

A classic example of her getting it wrong on the bra front is the aforementioned green outfit at the Commonwealth service. She looked trussed up on top, and it spoiled the elegance of the look.

bottledboot · 12/11/2025 18:38

I still loved that green look.

jeffgoldblum · 12/11/2025 18:43

Rules of classic dressing always dictates you not see your underwear through your clothes.

Indianrollerbird · 12/11/2025 18:44

I suppose her wearing underwear, even badly fitted, is better than her no underwear choices. A couple of her outfits in Nigeria were shockingly inappropriate.

Here's a good video on Meghan's ill fitting underwear. There are a lot of examples.

She probably played it safe with the colour and deliberately kept it drab. Can you imagine if she'd went full on glitz on remembrance weekend.
