The personal clown/court jester, juggling outside the window.

Yes, it really doesn’t seem that she sees him as the global statesman that he thinks he is. Nor is there any recognition that he is the only reason that anyone takes any notice of her - or that without his money she would not be living in Montecito and titting about pretending to be a businesswoman.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 20/11/2025 11:26

He loves her boldly? Who says that? It’s never we love each other it’s always about how much he loves her, as Meghan says herself the silent part is still part of the song…….🤔

Mylovelygreendress · 20/11/2025 11:30

Just asked DH if he loves me boldly . He said he would love me with or without hair ! Thought I said baldly . When I explained why I was asking , he offered to make me a cup of tea .

I can't think of anyone else who has had so many opportunities to talk about herself and show the world who she really is. Every single time she comes across as vapid and inauthentic.
Reminds me of a Nancy Mitford who said something like 'Oh one is so lucky to be wonderful one!'

Exactly.

I thought I'd gone to sleep and somehow woken up in the Covid 'finding freedom' era 5 years ago! All about 'finding my voice' and shaking off the shackles of the 'institution'.

She's a 44 year old woman who spent less than two years in an environment where there were some restrictions on her 'voice'. Since then, she's had all sorts of opportunites to use her 'voice' to tell us about all the deep and meaningful things she truly cares about. She even had two podcast series entirely her own! As well as a 'documentary' and numerous interviews. That's some platform.

But as you say, the reality is that she is entirely vapid and shallow, with nothing much to say about anything and anyone other than herself. Her problem with royal restrictions on using her 'voice' wasn't because she wanted to express her articulate, informed opinions about the pressing social and political issues of the day, as her supporters alleged. It was because she didn't get to give her perspective on who made who cry over a toddler's tights. She's as substantial as a box of flower sprinkles.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 20/11/2025 12:22

The comments about Harry’s playfulness really make him sound like a dimwit who has no serious role and no real value ...

I agree it was off to speak of him like this in public, @NormaMajors1992coat, but TBH it sounds like one of the few things she's right about

And what's the point in yammering on about now being able to use "her own narrative" when she's got nothing new to say? The Proctor and Gamble story's getting painful and it beggars belief that she can't see how the repetition comes across - though since she clearly has nothing else to contribute I guess endless rehashing's all we can expect

elessar · 20/11/2025 12:57

The article is another peach. She just can’t help herself can she? Agree it’s all the same old nonsense again and again, and she really does make Harry seem like a kid she has to babysit.

This extract made me chuckle:

“Her daughter, Lilibet, “comes and sits on my lap when I’m in the middle of the meeting, whether it’s about P and L for my brand or it’s about something creative.”
When I ask Meghan what she hopes her kids see when they see her working, she tells me, “I hope they see the value of being brave. They saw it when the jam was just a pot on the stove, bubbling.”

Firstly, the quote about Lilibet I think just completely underlines how unprofessional she is and how much her company is just a bit of a joke. No serious CEO or business professional conducts meetings with their young child sitting on their lap, nor is that in any way conducive to being able to concentrate or contribute properly.

I also lol’d at the idea that her children see the value of bravery from a saucepan of jam. I mean, what? It makes no sense at all. She’s a caricature of a person.

I suppose she might have said how much she loves Harry in a bit the editors cut out, BigWillyLittleTodger, but this is an article that's supposed to be favourable and unless they're ALL editing out any nice remarks about him it appears it's only the love of others for her which matters

Which probably wouldn't be a surprise to many of us ...

stillavid · 20/11/2025 13:27

I am watching The Great at the moment which is highly entertaining - Harry is giving me Peter vibes if anyone else is watching/has watched it ;)

NormaMajors1992coat · 20/11/2025 13:37

Meghan’s interviews are always hilarious - I wonder, when someone tells her that this one is unfortunately also taking the piss, will she try to retaliate against the writer like she did after The Cut? Will she blame it on the fact that she is too trusting? It’s bound to be because of how amazing she is in some way. Unless of course it’s the fault of a lackey who was just trying to respect the king’s feelings 😂

She has to try to turn trad-wifery and basic cooking skills into a noble, unprecedented, feminist campaign. I wonder what “Glo” Steinem really thinks about it all.

I thought I saw somewhere that her stepson Christian bale was not happy about this “friendship “ and was concerned for her . 🤷‍♀️

NormaMajors1992coat · 20/11/2025 13:44

Christian Bale is Gloria Steinem’s stepson? 🤯

I can’t imagine him having much time for H+M 😬

No apparently not! , I wish I could recall where I read it! , it was ages ago when she first started sniffing around.

BemusedAmerican · 20/11/2025 13:51

To be fair to Nancy Mitford, one of her characters said that in one of her books. Nancy had in many ways a tough life. She had no money, no formal education, and was raised in a world that just expected her to marry. She had a dry sense of humor. (As you can tell, I'm a fan).

@IcedPurple Clearly shown in the Bloomberg interview, where she was invited to comment on more serious matters and had nothing to say.

Thank you @elessar! That was my first reaction but no-one so far had mentioned it so I thought I was being mean.

I’m constantly amazed at how she gets away with her mad wittering and sense of grandiosity. How does she get any platform, interviews or attention? She’s unhinged. None of the interviewers actually challenge her on anything she says either. She lives in a bubble where nothing touches her it seems.

None of the interviewers actually challenge her on anything she says either.

I am sure that is a key part of the negotiations prior to interviews. Although a skilled interviewer can still pull it off with plausible deniability - I am thinking of the TV one she did to launch the parents network where the interviewer asked her about her own ideation.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 20/11/2025 15:06

Yes, that one was painful, @bluegreygreen
In fairness I didn't really expect she'd have much of substance to say, but it might have been nice to cobble together a few remarks to suggest she had any idea at all about the subjects raised

They didn't centre her in the way she wanted though, so possibly she wasn't interested

BasiliskStare · 20/11/2025 15:13

The more I think about it the more I think M's problem is not others framing her narrative, rather that for a long time she has been framing her own narrative. And I don't think she' very good at it 😊

You could be right Puzzled but after the Jamie Kerr Lima interview with “that guy loves me so much” I tend to think she never mentioned her love for him!

DGD4 just watched me making chutney . Should I ask her if she thinks I am being brave ?
