When a poster asserts that posters who don't dislike Meghan also don't care about the York situation, I am quite entitled to prove that that is not true in my case.

And yet when Harry and Meghan asked to do the same, transparently and above board, their request was turned down.

Harry is outside of the RF now so I don’t see how Meghan going back to her former profession of acting@; qualifies as making money off her royal status? If anything , it signifies a move away from her lifestyle projects, which would surely qualify as a good thing in your eyes?

Anyway, lots of minor royals have been making money off their royal status for years;

eg Peter Phillips sold photos of his 2008 wedding to Autumn Kelly to Hello! for an estimated £500,000.

Was he criticised as much as Meghan?

And it’s all a nonsense as the main players benefit financially from their royal status all of the time! Don’t tell me they pay full price for their fleet of Range Rovers or anything that is deemed by royal appointment ?

If a minor royal figure by marriage - and then divorce - such as Sarah Ferguson got away with not paying her Harrods bill for years; think of what the main players in the RF are allowed to get away with!

People might not like Meghan’s projects but at least she works hard off her own back and is paying a fair amount of tax on her earnings! If someone is willing to pay her for an acting role , then I cannot for the life of me see one problem with her accepting the job, however many people like to bleat on about it on here!
Totally agree, she always picks herself up and finds something else to have a go at. I seem to remember QE2 suggested she carried on acting and perhaps the time's come to give it a go. Not a fan but can still hope it goes well for her.

Meghan can go and act her little socks off, and sell candles smelling of her essence until the cows come home. But not using royal titles and royal status, in my opinion. If you don't like the behaviour of the Yorks and the other minor royals in trading off their connections, then there's no reason to give the Sussexes a pass, is there.

Interesting thread. IMO Meghan gets a lot of free publicity for whatever she's associated with. So amazon/Prime have to be ecstatic with the free publicity for their little movie. No matter how small the cameo is, millions in UK will (hate) watch a movie that would have gone completely under the radar otherwise. And there will be endless articles from now until the movie comes out. You couldn't pay for that kind of continuous publicity.

I manage not to see or hear anything about her. So why is it that you do? Is it because you purposely go look for it? Why shouldn’t she earn an income?!

Why would anyone bother to watch a whole film when they can just watch YouTubers reactions instead! Much more interesting!

This might happen, as I said above. However, hate watching bumping viewing figures only benefits Meghan if she's making serious money at producer level.

I think the film is only just being made now, isn't it? There's no guarantee that Meghan's part will even be in the final cut, although her involvement being leaked to the press makes it harder for the producers to drop her walk on, which might also be a stroke of genius on her part.
