I sort of agree with you. She is relentless in her pursuit of fame and money, how much good she could do if she directed that tenacity for anyone’s benefit but her own. Given how she slapped down Mindy Kaling I don’t see her using Meghan Markle as her professional name, though I actually think it would be a good move.

But she’s Meghan Sussex now!

If it’s a cameo, she might go unbilled and untitled - like Sarah Ferguson in Friends iirc.

If she goes by “Duchess of Sussex” in a monetised role, then the palace needs to decide whether they want to wait another 10-30 years to see how her monetising her titles (even further than she has hitherto been doing) pans out, or nip the thing in the bud.

I don't think I have seen anyone use a title in film credits.

To be fair, it doesn’t look like a full return to acting. It’s a paying gig, cameoing as herself in a contrived setting. But if it turned into a return to her acting career why not? As long as she doesn’t try to use the Sussex name, which belongs to the Dukedom, I’m all for her getting on with trying to rebuild a career that might earn them some money.

Did she ever work in Hollywood? Suits was Canadian, and I think I saw her in a British film set around a block of flats (that’s all I remember at except her dreadful acting)

Looking at the cast list I don't think she's one of the "couples".

It says 2 couples - one set famous, one not.

I'd imagine the 2 couples are a combo of: Brie Larson, Jack Quaid, Lily Collins and Henry Golding.

Meghan is appearing as herself in a cameo - so I'm thinking Fergie in Friends, Geri Halliwell in SATC, Trump in Home Alone 2.

Which is as @wordler says would be a much better level to start at and ease back in.

What would be quite clever is if she’s got a producer credit on the film. Hoping people will flock to hate watch her part, thus driving up sales, and she’ll get a big payout.

Wow. Criticised for sitting around in a mansion doing fuck all…for producing documentaries…for fronting her own TV show…for being a mum and taking her kids trick or treating. Very different things, yet all wrong.

Now criticised for being an actress and, the horror, doing some acting.

I wonder if there’s actually anything she could do that would be acceptable.

I love SATC. To this day I have to fast forward through that awful Geri Halliwell scene. Ironically, that episode was the one about Soho House.
