The royal family

Why didn’t Harry tell all about Andrew? And will A and S now spill the family secrets (please!)?

I’ve wondered why Harry stayed quiet about Andrew. Surely most - if not all - of the Royals knew more about his ‘activities’ than Jo Public will ever know?

Harry was so bothered about all the misinformation and ‘men in suits’ but seemed to leave Andrew alone. Would he have been subject to non-disclosure rulings, or whatever it is people in the public eye can get to prevent people telling their secrets?

Having seen how much Harry was paid, will Andrew and/or Sarah seek to get gazillions to expose the multitude of skeletons that must surely be in royal closets? What might those secrets be?!

Apologies if this idle nosiness isn’t in the spirit of ‘the royal family’ topic - they’re just a fascinating family and in the grand scheme of weird family dynamics, they’re right up there near the top! Even the most mundane of families have skeletons!

Why haven't any of the other family members spoken up? Why focus on just H&M?

Because no other member of the Royal Family has profited for selling their family story.

Bollocks. Peter sold his wedding to Hello and more. Zara's whole career is because of her family and she gets loads of sponsorship deals. B and Es jobs are the sort of none jobs people get because of connections.

And then we have Charles who spent decades publicly moaning about how crap his parents were via the press (Penny Junior made a living from it). He may not have got money but he sold his story just the same.

Because he knew that it had the potential to bring them down. He doesn't want to bring them down. He wants them to be able to do exactly as they please, as their ' birthright'.

Harry moved to America when he was, what, 40? 35? I think it’s slightly unrealistic to suggest that he (and William) just thought he was friendly uncle Andrew, oblivious to everything.

Not that I therefore think he should have put it in his book. I just don’t think “he knew nothing” is believable at all.

Why try to make him older 🙄
5 years is significant
He was in fact 35 when he left
So you wanted him to know about a criminal that apparently noone else knew about when he was a child?
I think kids are more concerned with their experience of life

Yes, I can’t understand why H denied it. Most people would be supportive or indifferent. He definitely wouldn’t get roasted for it.

Even people who feel that Andrew is a convenient fall guy but still strongly dislike him, wouldn’t decry Harry for hitting him.

It’s confusing.

May be it just didn't happen and they he prefers the truth regardless of how much a lie would boost his popularity (which he maybe doesn't care about)👽

LunarLights1 · 31/10/2025 06:24

I think Harry Derangement Syndrome is alive and well.

Andrew has been accused of some of the most heinous crimes possible. This isn’t some little family fall out.

Justyouwaitandseeagain · 31/10/2025 06:24

Remember that Sarah was supposedly one of the first Royals Harry wanted Meghan to meet and she taught her to curtsy before meeting the Queen... I think he is closer to Andrew and Sarah than people may think. I think it's telling that they went to such lengths to call out racism but stopped short of the issues surrounding Andrew which given their positioning (UN ambassadors / women's rights advocate) it would feel pretty pertinent and important to speak out on... if they were indeed acting for the greater good and not just themselves.

I agree with you. There’s no way H was distant from his fun auntie Fergie or her jolly ex-husband.

It will be interesting to see if the Sussexes keep up their contact with the York princesses. Will they now want to disassociate themselves because the scandal is out in the open, or will they stay in touch out of a) genuine friendship😂 or b) a way of winding up KC and William?

CoffeeCantata · 31/10/2025 06:55

@Justyouwaitandseeagain

and also…the ‘racism’ they ‘called out’ was clearly nothing of the sort and they later denied ever having made the accusation, of course.

Yet no comment then or now on Andrew.

Why didn’t Harry talk about It’s A Knockout? IIRC one of them is in prison unless he’s died already.

Harry was a baby when Its a knock out was on

jumpingthehighjump · 31/10/2025 07:02

Nor should they have commented. It's Harry's uncle and obviously it's been a very bad situation for a very long time. It was up to Andrews brother to take action, or his siblings, but not a squeak from them! So why should a nephew speak out. Yes Harry wrote a book but he did the right thing steering clear of the complete shit show that was Andrew & Sarah as can be seen from the daily revelations.

Royal it's a knockout?! Haha clutching at straws there!

SisterTeatime · 31/10/2025 07:21

There is something odd about all this. Personally I find it hard to believe (and don’t want to believe) that MM was a full-on yacht girl, but it seems likely she was yacht adjacent, and possibly that’s something to do with how she met Harry. I think Markus Andersen is a rather sinister figure. It’s strange that he is suddenly being featured in her social media to such an extent that he was even in the pumpkin patch video. However, I also think MM does odd things just for attention and clicks, so there may be nothing in it.

I certainly suspect that Andrew, H&M know things about each other that they’d all prefer to keep under their various hats.

Yes, I’m not concerned about what Harry and Meghan knew or didn’t know. I’m concerned about what our late Queen knew, what our King knew, what William knew. 2 heads of state and a future head of state.

BeeWitchy · 31/10/2025 08:42

I wonder what the people of the commonwealth countries who have Charles as head of state think about all this?

I haven’t seen any articles on that yet, but no doubt we will.

Well Jamaica are too busy with major hurricane devastation and seeking aid.

PiccadillyPurple · 31/10/2025 08:47

Harry's book 'Spare' was focused on his own experiences, rather than being a general expose of the RF. Whether or not he was aware of Andrew's activities, they didn't directly impact him, so they weren't relevant to the theme of the book. That's not a criticism of Harry - it's a normal approach to take in an autobiography.

No, obviously not. I’m concerned that she knew and did nothing until Virginia was found to have grounds to bring a case against Andrew. That concerns me. I expect more from my head of state.

I assume the government is volunteering aid unasked? A lot was taken from Jamaica for centuries.

Agree. He didn’t write about his cousins, the Queen Mother, his aunts and uncles…not even that ridiculous relative who wore a racist brooch to meet Meghan.

Lampzade · 31/10/2025 08:56

The question should be why did the late Queen stand by her errant son despite the serious accusations against him ?
Why did she co-sign the ‘ hush’ money paid to VG?
What has this got to do with Harry and Meghan .?

Reddog1 · 31/10/2025 09:04

All records relating to Liz’s involvement in the cover up won’t see the light of day for many years. Unless someone in the know writes a tell-all book I suppose.

Good point. I haven’t read Spare. Someone’s just lent me Entitled though, so I shall be reading that over the weekend!
