The royal family

Why didn’t Harry tell all about Andrew? And will A and S now spill the family secrets (please!)?

I’ve wondered why Harry stayed quiet about Andrew. Surely most - if not all - of the Royals knew more about his ‘activities’ than Jo Public will ever know?

Harry was so bothered about all the misinformation and ‘men in suits’ but seemed to leave Andrew alone. Would he have been subject to non-disclosure rulings, or whatever it is people in the public eye can get to prevent people telling their secrets?

Having seen how much Harry was paid, will Andrew and/or Sarah seek to get gazillions to expose the multitude of skeletons that must surely be in royal closets? What might those secrets be?!

Apologies if this idle nosiness isn’t in the spirit of ‘the royal family’ topic - they’re just a fascinating family and in the grand scheme of weird family dynamics, they’re right up there near the top! Even the most mundane of families have skeletons!

Oh what is the It’s A Knock Out scandal!!??

I don’t think there’s a scandal exactly ( but please fill me in if I’ve missed something!)😲

It was years ago, in Prince Edward’s theatrical phase, when he organised an absolutely excruciating royal version of the tv game show IAKO. I didn’t watch it..I was so embarrassed for him/them, but I’ve often seen clips. It got a bad reception from the press and poor silly Edward (bless him) was in a sulk.

A most embarrassing but quite innocent mis-step by the royals.

I don't think anyone would be surprised if Fergie left a few hand grenades to be deployed 'beyond the grave'. She knows where the bodies are buried, not least her own mother's relationship with Philip.

Didn't Stuart Someone take part in the IAKO? He was a BBC man. Wasn't he accused much later of some sort of crime against girls/women? I can't remember the details but I think he did go to prison. I don't think the scandal was anything to do with the IAKO.
I'll remember his surname next Tuesday - maybe.

Stuart Hall

Thanks. Now I can wiki him.

“Innocent mis-step” by the royals but obviously if this was Harry then it would be a royal crisis. As usual the royalists changing the narrative to suit them.

Yes, the BBC had facilitated him in his sexual abuse as they did with Savile. I think they even provided a room for him at BBC Manchester.

But this was a separate issue from the royal IAKO.

I try to use the language clearly. It should be obvious what my posts are about but please feel free to ask for clarification on specific points.

Andrew’s reputation has always been a matter of public knowledge. His womanising, attitude to staff etc. Theres no way he wasn’t discussed within the family.
My guess was he didn’t say anything was because he thought that his uncle shagging young girls was just what sleazy men did if they had money.
I expect now it’s all too sensitive to address without exposing the negative side of the wealthy over privileged group he himself is part of.

None of the RF are addressing the situation regarding A. They are all keeping quiet.

Oh don’t be ridiculous. All hell is breaking loose - have you been under a stone?

It’s not the court of Henry VIII - things are going to take time.

FancyBiscuitsLevel · 30/10/2025 18:22

There’s an element as well that Harry used a ghost writer. Given how old the allegations of criminal (not just shitty) behaviour are for Andrew, and that Harry didn’t really hang around together, I can see his ghost writer asking “do you know this is true? Did you witness this? Did Andrew tell you this directly? Are you sure it’s not just gossip?”

Pjnow · 30/10/2025 18:24

I couldn't tell you anything of my Uncle's private life when I was a child or since. Why would I?

Was he in the papers and on the telly all the time though? Was he a public figure?

Harry hasn’t been a child for going on 30 years.

Why would my Uncle being a public figure mean I know more about him than the public does?

You asked "Was he a public figure?"

Because there’s no comparison between your situation and that of the adult nephew of a (fairly notorious) public figure like Andrew.

Why didn’t Harry talk about It’s A Knockout? IIRC one of them is in prison unless he’s died already.

You have confused the tv show with the one off royal knock out charity celebrity performance

the presenter ( ? I think) of the tv show went to prison but that tv show had nothing whatsoever to do so ever to do with the royal knock out
