Why is there more online vitriol towards Megan Markle than Andrew?

ladykale · 22/10/2025 10:21

I find it ridiculous how there is consistent hate towards Megan markle when she does pretty low key things like launching jam that no one is being forced to buy. People were delighted that she is no longer using HRH titles and even said she shouldn’t call herself the Duchess of Sussex (even though that is distinct from royal titles).

On the flip side - NO ONE has called for an actual investigation into Prince Andrew on the days that he claimed to be at Pizza Express in Woking, when his movements are logged by the royal gamily and his security detail so they eill
know exactly where he was!

He slept with an underage victim of sex trafficking who
conveniently died by suicide shortly before her memoir naming and shaming many individuals came out.

Limited criticism of the late Queen who used £12million
pg her personal money to pay off an underage sec trafficking victim & shielded him from any investigation.

Disgusted by it all and was amused to see the vitriol on an article about Megan breathing, whereas limited calls for Andrew to be investigated by any U.S or UK authorities!

WHY?

You really need to read about Sarah Ferguson, for instance, in the Andrew Lownie book
There is nothing that Meghan Markle has done, or is doing, that would even begin to touch the sides of Sarah's actions over decades
To say I was shocked is an understatement. I knew some of it but probably only about 10% of some of the awful stuff she was up to.
Far worse than you can imagine.

I’m not saying I know all her crimes and misdeeds but NOTHING would surprise me about Ferguson. I disliked her on sight (unfair perhaps) and could never watch her on public engagements: the vulgar behaviour, the desperate wish to be popular, the horrible clothes, the lack of dignity and decorum and the attention-seeking etc etc. A and S deserved each other.

Her life before him should have been a red flag. She hung around rich men much older than herself (Paddy McNally and others), clearly just looking for a meal ticket.

Ugh.

Are you being deliberately obtuse? Ferguson has been at it for over 30 years. She started in a similar manner to Meghan now, all fairly tacky but seemingly harmless, until it wasn't. There's good reason to nip this crap in the bud now by ensuring royal titles are not associated with it. And Lownie has said this himself, if you bothered, as I have, to not only read the book but to listen to what he's been saying for the past 3 years.

This.

There is no way the RF are going to let MM be a SFII and grift off her title for the next 30 years. Thanks to Andrew Lownie bringing in to sharp focus the activities of SF, I imagine the days of being a ‘merching duchess’ are unlikely to continue for too much longer. The RF need to be seen to be nipping this in the bud and not burying their heads in the sand.

He said it in an interview and he also mentioned that he’d been passed some information from a reliable source in Thailand, why are you worried?
im sure he will be fair and only report reliable sources.🤷‍♀️

why are you worried’

Why would I be worried? What we you talking about?

i said that he said yesterday that he was writing about Phillip. It’s not even an ‘ ‘apparently.’

He did say something deeply disturbing about Andrew in the Daily Beast podcast. I mean the news about Andrew is disturbing enough but at about 32 minutes (near the end) of the podcast… well I’ll leave it to others to have a look and listen, because I don’t want to type it out here, if I’m wrong. But I don’t think I am. If I’m not, what is wrong within this family?

🤷‍♀️ exactly why would you be worried!
he’s publicly said he’s doing a book about h and m next , I see no issues here , in fact the more sunlight on all the royals the better, we cannot pick and choose, all or nothing I say!

You asked me ‘why are you worried’ and asked you ‘why would I be?’ I thought you wanted an answer from me about why I was worried? The trouble with misunderstandings when conversing by posts I guess?

So we are arguing about who he said he is going to write about next. Okay we’ll find out.

BeeWitchy · 05/11/2025 02:05

It’s at 25.28

I knew I’d heard this. “I hope to do a book on Prince Phillip next, because I think he is a very unsung hero of the royal family”

He’s still working on the paperback edition of Entitled. I’m waiting until then to buy it because there’s a lot more to be added.

Lownie is apparently writing a book about h and m next , perhaps it’s best to wait and see before we condemn one and exonerate another.

What a predictable comment from you.

I am sure you are desperate for Meghan to be proven to be just as bad as Sarah. Might be tricky as Sarah has been grifting in the most revolting way for 29 years whilst Meghan has only been around a short time in comparison.
And yes I will read and comment on that book if and when it comes out.

It did take Lownie nearly 10 years to amass all his research on Andrew and Sarah. 3,000 contacted, 300 sources prepared to go on record and were named in the first three or four pages of the book.

I have read the book cover to cover. And have commented on that and what I have read in the book endlessly on the threads about Andrew.
So I have no idea why you are doubting that I have read it
Odd

Thedom · 05/11/2025 07:12

Yes, that was a curious statement. He said he had been passed information about Meghan Markle from reliable sources in Thailand, and then there are Andrew’s connections to Thailand. He didn’t claim anything untoward, but there is an insinuation there. He can’t stand Harry and Meghan either, does see them as Andrew & Sarah part deux, he sees right through them.

I think it’s Bower who is writing the book about H&M.

@OutsideNetty you sum it up perfectly.

Odd

My disbelief is that you can't see the similar trajectory that Sarah Ferguson and Meghan Markle both started on. My disbelief is that you have read the book and can't see the similarities. I've seen a number of posts over the years from people like you who have said that Sarah monetised her titles and that was allowed, so why not Meghan and Harry? Well now you know how Sarah's story ended, you can hopefully see why the RF should nip the Sussexes in the bud rather than store a potential problem for 30 years down the line. When they are title free private citizens, they can carry on doing exactly what they are doing - they just won't have a royal title as their USP.

Indianrollerbird · 05/11/2025 08:22

@Thedom Bower's next book on H&M will be out in March. I'm looking forward to it!

It would not surprise me at all if Lownie's take down of Andrew results in him being contacted about other royals with problematic behaviour. He's not going to pass up the chance to capitalise on the momentum of Entitled if he uncovers another scandal.

If/when Lownie publishes his book on heroic Prince Philip, I am sure all the faux republican posters will be all over the board adding their words of praise for his work.

Abra1t · 05/11/2025 09:11

BeeWitchy · 04/11/2025 20:25

I find it strange how Sarah was able to monetize her title for three decades and get very little flack for it on social media and on here, yet the moment Meghan even looked like doing the same she experienced enormous opposition to it, and intense criticism.

And now we find we are being warned by posters about both women trading on their titles because the hypocrisy of criticizing Meghan while leaving Sarah to get on with it has become undeniable.

'The Duchess of Pork', 'Where the Phuket is Fergie?', 'Fat Fergie'.

These were just some of the tabloid headlines about SF.
Social media wasn't around when she was in her prime, or she'd have undoubtedly received lots of flak.

I really hope he gets some insight into how any charity money reaches them and for what … especially the likes of Archewell, IG, Sentabale, African Parks … I may be way off here but suspect they view these monies as ‘what can we get’ rather than ‘I’ll do everything I can to help’

Just some of the stuff we know about and it’s only been 5 years….

Bullying claims from both sides of the Atlantic
Tyler Perry, godfather to one of their kids, a rumoured sexual predator for years, just recently sued.
Accepting their Californian House from a highly controversial billionaire stranger.
African Parks, associated with a charity that has been accused of heinous crimes
Accepting hospitality from Nigeria and Columbia whose regimes are dubious at best
Accepting hospitality from corrupt individuals, wanted for money laundering and fraud
Meghan wearing the earrings despite palace warnings, given to her by the Prince of Saudi Arabia after the murder of Jamal Khashoggi

ConverseAddict · 05/11/2025 10:52

I think Sarah has been perceived as a bit thick which has helped her, a bit posh and hopeless. People are much more forgiving when you are like that.
Whereas Meghan is always telling us how clever and detail aware she is.

I agree with this. She was overweight, clumpy, inappropriate. It was like the Lucille Ball show all over again.

Sarah is a bit like how Boris Johnson portrays himself, acting the bafoon and getting into scrapes, some people would have found that endearing, though this will be a tough one for her to come back from if ever.

ozarina · 05/11/2025 19:20

Her recent illness had also gained her some sympathy.

Meghans is going back to acting.

  • Obvious that the NF money has dried up and nothing is happening there, even though they bang on how close she is to Ted etc the movie is with Amazon.
  • Theres no way she would have considered this even a year ago. Rem what a stink Harry made and how indignant they were at KCs suggestion that she carry on acting because they can’t afford to keep her.
  • I respect that shes willing to work for a big pay cheque, while Harry sits on his arse
  • It’s the start of a slope though- of what she’s willing to take on for cash. Just like Fergie. This is only a few short months after the NF deal has come to an end and shes already resorting to cameos.
  • As ever is unlikely to be bringing in big money right now- so I’m sure this money will be most welcome.
  • Shes filming today. Which is strange because she said she didn’t have any time for her podcast and had to quit it- but she has time for cameos?

Meghan Markle makes shock return to acting in blockbuster film with Lily Collins

STARS will welcome back the Duchess of Sussex as she shoots a Hollywood movie. Lily Collins, Brie Larson, Jack Quaid — son of Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid — and Brit Henry Golding are among those film…
