So H has written to the PM and the Home Secretary. At some point, questions need to be asked about how weak the King is when it comes to controlling members of his family who behave inappropriately. A member of the RF should not be asking politicians to be overruling civil servants and the courts.

They should not, however, that's outside KC's control. He cannot have his son locked up.
It's up to the government to ignore the demands of an entitled millionaire who chooses not to be resident, but wants top level privilege.

JSMill · 12/10/2025 12:39

I agree it’s quite embarrassing that M
asked to come and I do wonder if she had reached out to any others. I wonder if she regrets pissing off Victoria Beckham.

Agreed. Charles wrote plenty of his own letters in his time. The Queen wasn’t able (or wasn’t inclined) to prevent him either.

What is frustrating is that these letters get VIP treatment over other more deserving correspondents because they put those at the top of whichever department is involved into a state of panic.

Agree, what can KC really do to control Harry? Probably the only thing he could do to shut him up would be to start funding him again, or to welcome him back to half in half out - and I think most people are in agreement that Charles should stay firm on that.

beyond asking him not to embarrass him by trying to undermine the court processes, which I’m sure he has done, his hands are somewhat tied.

Its really just baffling that Harry thinks he’s still going to get somewhere by continuing to harass different people about this issue, when it’s now been ruled on multiple occasions that his security provision and the decision making process is fair and sound.

He just can't stop can he ? Is he going to spend his whole life in his misery? His face at the awards didn't look like a man living his best life.

No, I think Charles can stay well out of it and leave it to the government. Starmer has a million other things to deal with of more importance and I don't see Shabana Mahmood being cowed by Harry. Neither will he find it as easy to accuse her of racism against his wife.

bluegreygreen · 12/10/2025 12:56

That suggests a degree of logic which I don't think Harry has, given that he has accused the King both of interfering and of not intervening to help.

Interesting interview with Paul Burrell in the Telegraph podcast. Among various things discussed (such as what D would have made of her DsIL) is the time D spend with the boys, which was very little. She believed they needed to spend their holidays from school with the RF and grow up within the institution they were part of, also she didn’t have access to country pursuits and outdoor activities on which they thrived so when they were with her they had to do days out and overseas holidays.

God is Paul Burrell still grifting too? Why are people giving this obsessed fantasist airtime?

Thats even worse! What on earth has he got to talk about now to fill a book? He was a servant for the Royals 25 years ago, they sacked him and got him arrested for theft!

Parliament have gagged themselves, the courtiers certainbnly won't do it if they want to keep their jobs, and I can't see the wider family saying much while he holds the purse strings

Burrell's always grifted, @LidlAmaretto, but though a ghastly man he does make me smile in that even the Queen had to tell a ridiculous tale to keep him quiet. Nice to see them meet their match for once ...

Harry blaming the press! How unusual 🤔!

I read that Daily Fail piece, about Harry blaming the press for using Diana to beat his wife with. Tried to reconcile that with Meghan on one of those podcasts claiming “that man loves me so much”, and the misery guts Harry appears to be, and how Meghan seems to publicly humiliate him by pushing/pulling him around or walking right past him or talking over him or relegating him to juggler or posting an awful photo of him on his birthday etc. Who knows what their marriage is really like but it looks like a volatile one where she is constantly jostling for the upper hand while he battles his private demons.

FutureMarchionessOfVidal · 12/10/2025 14:25

It’s just disgusting. I think about the people I know who really make an effort to make life that little bit better for those around them. Visiting the elderly, volunteering for Samaritans, cleaning up litter, monitoring river pollution etc. For no pay & while balancing this with daily life, never recognised, no glory. And meanwhile this pair of vain, preening, privileged, wealthy, self-indulgent grifters get a meaningless award.

H & M are repulsive people. Repulsive. If he has any shred of decency - which I very much doubt- he should be covered in shame.

The two of them and ‘Prince’ Andrew 🤢.

H is still chasing taxpayer funded security too, so gather. Our money. To subsidise him.

Quite. Especially as there are still those who subscribe to the theory that Diana was “murdered” in Paris 🤔

The photos of her were from Back grid so paps for hire.

The security issue with Harry has confused me a bit . Is he asking for 24/7 armed security at all times regardless of where he is or only in the U.K. ?

I would give it to them just because all these penny ha penny journalists use them to to earn money from lies and abusive posts. Horrible how they get blamed unfairly for ridiculous reasons.

william is so desperate for publicity now calling on the bereaved unofficially and then dropping them. He should be reigned in to behave like ha Royal. Unthinking royals sometime impair or interfere with the trained professionals. Royals should work according to schedules and rules.

What shit are you chatting here? William did not “drop in on the bereaved”. He met up with a woman that he has met previously, who is campaigning to highlight the issues around suicide on World Mental Health Day, and to launch a £1m campaign aimed at helping to prevent suicide

How offensive, did you see that interview? He didn't just "call in on her" then "drop" her.
You have absolutely no idea. His Trust gave £1m to her charity. He listened to her story and talked to her about the stigma of suicide.
That interview made me cry.
How on earth can you trivialise it like that?
Dear god.

As I understand it, the UK.
He wants the UK taxpayer to pay for top level armed security whenever he turns up in the UK, and doesn't want to give any notice.
It failed in the courts, so now he's directly lobbying ministers.
Oh, and I'm curious to see if he's paid court costs or if that's on us as well.

It's hard to know exactly what Harry wants, given it's all been through the courts (has he ever paid the costs?).

There is an argument that what he really still wants is IPP status, which would protect him from any consequences if he has been careless around legal requirements for his charities. I can't see that happening however - there is an international definition, and he doesn't fit.

Mylovelygreendress · 12/10/2025 15:43

Thanks for the explanation. I recall the original Megxit statements stating that H would retain his IPP status but that was quickly deleted !
