Meghan has just popped a video clip of herself in the back of a limo with her feet up travelling through the streets of Paris. Is this rather insensitive given the way her MIL died or is it perfectly normal to post such stuff?

Plenty of people follow pop culture, in fact it is a booming industry particularly for influencers of all genres, reality tv, and all media types, Meghan has placed herself firmly in that genre, so she is going to be discussed, she didn’t do a runway sashay from her hotel to the car for no reason, she wants the attention, good and bad, and there are plenty around interested to discuss it.

It helps me form a more well rounded, informed perspective. I feel sorry for you that you don’t, though I can see how it shapes your current views…

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

lampshadez · 05/10/2025 19:11

@Thedom but why is the discussion always so negative?

EmpressSisi · 05/10/2025 19:11

lampshadez · 05/10/2025 19:06

@EmpressSisi I'm not a liar, don't call me one.

So I’m just supposed to take your word for it on blind faith, with no evidence? Aye right — and I’m Meghan’s social media assistant then 🙄🤣

I think people just don’t warm to her. That’s it really.

If it’s on a news site or in a newspaper, I’ll read it. I read everything - different stories, different sources, varying points of view, even foreign correspondence. It helps me form a more well rounded, informed perspective. I feel sorry for you that you don’t, though I can see how it shapes your current views…

Oh don't be ridiculous. And misinformed. Where have I said I don't keep up with current affairs, world politics, local news, what our Government are doing, how our MPs vote on certain issues, how my MP votes, local issues and more.

i would wager I am far far more informed about a lot of things than you

So why is it upsetting you that I read everything, including things about Harry and Meghan? I like to stay up to date and informed. It honestly seems like you’re trying to censor anything that isn’t just kissing their arses, personally.

lampshadez · 05/10/2025 19:14

You can accept or ignore my post. Don't call me a liar because I haven't posted evidence. What evidence would I even post. You also seem very happy to diagnose and label M's actions without any evidence.

Well, clearly, since you can’t bear to hear anything negative about certain people… your bias is showing 🤭

And you’re clearly lying about your friend using Mumsnet to teach about the perils of social media 🤣🤣🤣

YourWinter · 05/10/2025 19:16

I think she’s absolutely vile and knows exactly what she’s doing. Utterly unnecessary and although I didn’t have much interest in Princess Diana’s public persona, Meghan just can’t resist milking it. At least Diana always dressed better than Meghan ever does, which she surely gave some thought to for Paris Fashion Week.

Yes, because the alternative to accusing someone of trolling their husband? of capitalising of their mils death, accusing them of being a narcissist etc is to kiss their arse 🙄

Well if the shoe fits…

What bias? because I don't think she is trolling her husband. I'm not even a particular fan of H&M & there are certainly things I have criticised them for. Equally I know she isn't Myra Hindley so the vitriol she attracts confuses me.

Why would I make up something like that? Of course teachers use real life examples from the media and social media when discussing the actual media. They were doing it when I was at school & that was years ago. Clearly I hit a nerve!

Why on earth do you think I'm upset?! 🤣🤣
As if! It's those who dislike Meghan who seems to get rather ummm worked up about every single thing she does, says, wears and more

KirstenNotKristen · 05/10/2025 19:24

Balenciaga? The same balenciaga who had a campaign featuring children holding teddy bears dressed up in bdsm & bondage?

mathanxiety · 05/10/2025 19:29

EmpressSisi · 05/10/2025 17:42

I’m sure her husband loves seeing seeing evidence of her driving around Paris near where his mother died, especially after that ‘near death’ car chase in New York 🤣🤭

All getting behind poor Hazza now, eh?

I think your “friend” might want to teach a class on the perils of believing random strangers online, especially ones claiming their teacher mate uses Mumsnet as part of the curriculum.

Might be more useful than lecturing people for having varied opinions on content a public figure chose to post publicly for everyone to see and discuss. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Mumsnet is the poster child for the perils of social media, particularly the threads about H&M.

The fact that you seem so offended by anyone offering a different opinion about a video posted by a public figure who doesn’t even know we exist is… well, quite the clue! 😉

She actually said 'threads like this' but that doesn't suit you harping on about it, does it

Thedom · 05/10/2025 19:40

lampshadez · 05/10/2025 19:11

@Thedom but why is the discussion always so negative?

Because not everyone thinks the same as you, in fact, we are here discussing a celeb at a public event along with discussing her public SM, while you are here discussing other posters negatively.

If a celeb is putting out a curated image of themselves seeking publicity and commentary, that commentary won’t always be complimentary, in Meghans case it is overwhelmingly uncomplimentary because her persona is unlikeable and inauthentic, she is a bully and a liar, many people don’t buy into 9the multiple public images she tries to portray to cover up for not being a nice person (an opinion people have come to based on her own words and actions)

You are more than entitled to your opinion of her, but berating other posters for their opinion is ‘pot / kettle’.
