Yet more damaging revelations for the Yorks. How did the Daily Mail manage to get hold of the email I wonder?

Well having read a couple of books. They don't bloody listen when they are advised, the queen being the exception. But she had Philip to run things past.

I mean she didnt listen to anyone when it came to Andrew!

He is also supposedly paying the full amount of tax although he won't disclose his taxes

If he was, he'd declare them
Obviously.

This article really paints William in a different light. He brought in a new manager in 2025, read The Guardian article, and is making genuine changes. He is also supposedly paying the full amount of tax although he won't disclose his taxes.

I think reading the Guardian is mentioned in relation to the football team access road - I'd like to think he already knew about the Duchy rental issues!

Until he makes the 'genuine change' of full financial disclosure including his taxes - like any other figure in public office is obliged to do - then we have to conclude that he has something to hide.

We have an unelected Head Of State and an unelected Upper House. The FPTP voting system means huge swathes of the electorate are not represented by their vote. It’s not much of a democracy when you really look at it.

It's more democratic than having a HoS who can't be removed imposed the instant the previous incumbent keels over. A royal Buggins' turn if you like.

And an elected HoS will be doing an awful lot more hours than the two months full time equivalent C3 puts in if he/she values staying in their role.

He's had three years to reflect on taking action including nearly a year since his disgraceful skimming became public knowledge thanks to the perseverance of determined journalists.

So far he's waived a stonking £10k in rents drawn from grass roots organisations.

Could do better.

Can you show where this is required please?

I've been looking, and from what I can find, tax returns are still private information in the UK. Some public officials may choose to publish them.

There are, of course, documents such as the Register of members' interests, Cabinet Office transparency publications and of course Company House which may give more financial information about individuals, but unless I am mistaken tax returns remain private.

padronpepper · 24/09/2025 20:10

Who has the authority to unseal the records relating to Andrew’s time as Trade Envoy?

His father declared his. It's very striking that William reversed this for himself. If he's paying the full amount of tax he'd declare it. Unless he doesn't want people to know just how enormous his level of wealth is.

Bladderpool · 24/09/2025 20:14

I have to say I never thought I’d see the day when these two would be exposed to this level. I’m old enough to remember when Princess Margaret was seeing Roddy Llewelyn and her subsequent divorce. It was incredibly shocking at the time. As the years have passed the media have become increasingly less cowed by this ridiculous family.

Vitriolinsanity · 24/09/2025 20:30

i think the difference is that Princess Margaret was of an era before email and and invasive press. If today, there would be uproar, and PM and Roddy would be hunted.

I always rather liked the notion that Margot judged on the depth of a curtsy.

It looks like all of those contracts were signed under Charles and William inherited them. I read an article where he was trying to make changes and was getting pushback. He now has a new manager so many be getting more buy-in.

Previous posters brought out the fact that he is legally obligated to run the Duchy to make a profit.

He's signed new contracts permitting enviromentally destructive mining rights. Go Earthshot.

He's not under any legal obligation preventing a refund of morally opaque rental receipts.

I've just looked that up and apparently it's the President of the Family Division (of the courts) in consultation with the Attorney General, the royal private solicitor and a couple of others

Which doesn't make it sound like something that's ever likely to happen, at least with more current l, sensitive matters

Yes. Disgusting behaviour. I understand the D of K had lived to a ripe old age so it wasn’t a tragic loss but who on earth stands laughing and smiling on church steps after a funeral? There is something wrong with them. I really think they should be completely cut off from the RF. I think KCIII is too soft though.

Fergie is apparently patron of all these charities but what does she actually do for them? Not a lot I imagine.

I don’t know, but what I mean is, they could have plenty of meaningful charity work if they wanted to.

Kudos. Working for the UK royal family can lead to far more lucrative jobs, especially overseas.

Not to mention it must be fascinating to see what really goes on behind the scenes!

Yes, so many people have their hopes pinned on William, but this is a worrying sign I agree.

In relation to the Yorks, one thing Charles certainly can do is stop that odious woman from attending Royal
events. It was obviously him who has allowed her back into the fold. She was never invited to Sandringham or Balmoral when the Queen was alive. She’s not his partner or wife. I just don’t understand why she’s there at all.

It was horrible. And of all the funerals to choose to show your true colours at, I don’t have much time for any of them but the Duchess of Kent did seem to be a very genuine and kind person who trod her own path in the Rf and was all the better regarded for it. The York behaviour was appalling.

Very well said. I couldn’t agree more.

I feel rather upset for the late Duchess of Kent and her family.

She broke away from the RF and focused modestly on teaching music and charity work and these two hideously moronic graceless creatures couldn’t stay at the back of the cathedral, and arrive and depart via a side door, and treat the occasion of her funeral with respect; no, they had to
tuen it in to a gurning photo opp. Truly disgusting behaviour.

elprup · 25/09/2025 07:24

Does anyone else think Andrew looks nothing like either of his parents? Charles and Anne clearly look like Elizabeth, but with Andrew I can’t see any resemblance to Elizabeth or Philip.

Which people specifically?

Whoever else is on the so-called Epstein black book list. Thing is we'll probably never.know the others involved. Unfortunately I can't give you names as they haven't been broadcast and are never likely to be! Who did you think I meant?

diddl · 25/09/2025 08:04

I think she was often at Sandringham for Christmas but stayed elsewhere on the estate.

Edited

But stopping Sarah from attending would risk upsetting Andrew, with all that could entail

And yes she was kept more at arm's length when the Queen was alive, but then it may not have been the Queen who they had most dirt on

Letmeoutodhere · 25/09/2025 10:51

So Andrew should be placated at all costs? A man who consorted with criminals and a sex trafficker? In that case the RF are rotten to the core.
