My first is that being at Windsor might make it easier to host a foreign leader. Which then begs the question as to whether in the modern age we really need Buckingham Palace. None of the royals like living there and I bet you'd make a fortune hiring it out for events and tourists.

Whilst i find Catherine's coat dresses a little boring it makes sense to have a sort of uniform.

State visits are always political and if this keeps our relationship with the US smooth then I’ve no objection to it. I’d be more embarrassed if the leader of my country was someone who needed all this fawning and pampering to support his ego.

I think that Melania must wear that silly face covering hat so that she can have a crafty snooze when necessary.

Apparently Melania had been planning her outfit for months but it looks like she lost the original belt and had to grab one off a different outfit at the last minute. Her fashion choices are usually elegant, if unexciting, but this one is a miss imo.

Why is the banquet so late? Isn’t 9pm late to eat?

I'd be famished! I wonder if the guests snuck in a few packets of crisps or Kit Kats and scoffed them in the bathrooms when noone was looking?

For me it's a choice for a 60 plus woman. She seems to be wearing a lot of high necks recently.

It would be interesting doing all the travel, meeting people and behind the scenes looking at different things, but sitting through all the minds numbing ceremonies and services and making endless small talk would drive me mental, not sure the money and land would make up for it.

A belt in the same colour would have looked much better.

The belt doesn't even go with the dress either in style or colour.

I also don't think that bright yellow suits her and the off the shoulder style doesn't really seem appropriate for the occasion.

It does look grand, no one seems to be sitting next to their partners, is this usual, having never been to anything like this I wouldn't know.

I think Kate looks stunning, it’s an absolutely perfect dress for the type of event, it’s modest,elegant and regal, she outshines everyone there.
