This is bigger than any donation from William or Charles to charity.

Megan has consistently rolled her sleeves up, she's literally turned up with food to feed the homeless on Christmas day and to feed and try and empower those forced into sex work.

William is funded directly or indirectly by us tax payers

The UK would make more money from tourism without a royal family.

Why are there daily hate posts on Harry? He's not costing us anything.

OP posts:
Cynic17 · 12/09/2025 08:21

OP, it's extremely vulgar to disclose how much one personally donates to charity!

“The UK would make more money from tourism without a royal family.”

Ok… 🙄

Plenty of countries make money from tourism without a royal family. The uk would too.

Azandme · 12/09/2025 08:25

He's attempting to buy favour from the public. Otherwise why shout about it?

He knows he's damaged his reputation and this is an attempt to get back in the collective "good books", to make everyone saw "Aww, he's a good egg really!"

It's a blatant show of how they think of the "people" - that all it takes is gestures and people will be impressed enough to be nice again.

It's about as effective a way at building relations as jam.

Good point! Although it’s not about the cost, it’s the prestige he really wants!

Well exactly . He was delayed at least twice in London because of traffic . He didn’t have a police convoy so was stuck just like Joe Public unlike other members of the RF who would be whisked through.
Will be interesting to see if he claims he was at risk sitting in a traffic jam .

The key word was “more”. Where does the “more” come from?

Yes, but would the UK make more money without a royal family? because that’s what the poster that you replied to had commented on.

Also, some other countries without royal families make a lot from tourism because they have other attractions that the UK doesn’t have. For example, warmer, sunnier, more reliable weather. I don’t think we have lots of foreign tourists flocking to sun themselves on our beaches, do we. Even most British people go abroad for that.

But anyway. Yes, it’s great that Harry has made a donation, good for him, but as lots of PPs have pointed out, most people quietly make their donations and don’t feel the need to tell the press about it.

Go back to bed, Megan

Meghan probably knows how to spell her own name!

It wouldn’t be hard to give more than William and Kate. Their idea of service and charity is attending art exhibitions and sporting events. Their inept work effective will be a wakeup call for many and hopefully, just hopefully, move this country one step closer to becoming a republic, ridding ourselves of these leeches. The Sussexes had the right idea by getting as far away as possible from that parasitic family. Anyone who honestly believes that they desperately want to return to the fold is deserving of the label ‘deranged’.

ruffler45 · 12/09/2025 08:47

Does Harry actually have any money of his own ?

Ratafia · 12/09/2025 09:01

Looks a bit mean beside the £14m donated by William.

Toseland · 12/09/2025 09:03

Harry has only said this to put off those who think he's broke and asking his father for money. I doubt it will ever be donated.

Because tourists could then go round all the royal palaces.

If you go on to Instagram you will see the meetings/ events C and W attend . Unlike the Sussexes they don’t have to phone the paps to let them know what they are doing .
And they didn’t want to leave the “ parasitic family” ( the one Harry is desperately trying to reconnect with ) they flounced off because they were told no !

Livelovebehappy · 12/09/2025 09:09

The poor guy is desperate to try to repair the damage he and his less than bright wife have done to their reputation. What better way to do it so publically, just as he does everything, despite him saying he left the UK for a quieter more private lifestyle. I think it’s pretty obvious why the public dislike him so much, documented so many times on MN threads. The money he is so generous with comes from his indiscretions on the RF with his book and tell all interviews, so hardly the big gesture he would like us to believe. And I guess after his meeting with the King he will return to the US with more fodder for his next book/tell all, so I’m sure the money he donated will be recouped.

PraisebetoGod · 12/09/2025 09:10

Define 'his own money'.

Slightyamusedandsilly · 12/09/2025 09:10

The hate here is big.

bapples1 · 12/09/2025 09:11

@Dorosomethingbeautiful it's a fascinating study!

Viviennemary · 12/09/2025 09:13

Obviously he hasn't read Matthew 6 verse 3.

Slightyamusedandsilly · 12/09/2025 09:10

The hate here is big.

It’s not hate, it’s just eye rolling that the fact someone thinks because he’s donated money to a cause, that it somehow negates what he’s done previously. He and his wife wanted to leave the circus to get privacy and normality. They were in a privileged enough position to upsticks and jump ship. That’s absolutely fine. But since then they’ve created more public drama than if they’d stayed here. Everything they do, they make the media aware of. Using the same machine they were so critical of, when citing poor media behaviour during and after his mother’s death. It’s not hate, just not getting why people are going into raptures because he’s donated a million out of his ill gotten gains.

curious79 · 12/09/2025 09:23

In the US charitable donations of any size go against tax. He will now eliminate his tax bill

let that sink in

Sayitagainmyl · 12/09/2025 09:24

Slightyamusedandsilly · 12/09/2025 09:10

The hate here is big.

No, it’s a small number of small people who create multiple social media accounts for the purpose of writing vitriolic comments about the Sussexes, desperately trying to convince themselves and others that their views are widely held by others. When in fact they are not. It fills a void in what must be a very unfulfilling existence. Meanwhile, the subjects of their obsession continue to live their lives as they so please, with little care for those who despise them from outside their gated mansion. Why do you think these threads are confined to the royal family section? Because most MNrs can't stand it when the toxicity of these threads spreads out into the mainstream. When they do they are well and truly booted back to where they belong.

A bit different for William though with the annually renewing income he manages and has access to from the profits of the Duchy of Cornwall which amount to approximately £20 million a year.

He is also protected from paying corporation tax on that money even though to all intents and purposes the Duchy is nowadays a large commercial corporation!

Harry doesn’t have access to an ever-filling pot of cash!

Everything You Need to Know About Prince William’s Duchy of Cornwall

The vast estate was under his father's management for decades and has sparked much debate.

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 12/09/2025 09:24

The charity/ publicity event run by the BBC is capitalised , OP. Thus ‘Children in Need’. Otherwise one might think that Harry is donating to random children in need ( possibly called Archie?)

Why would uk make more tourists money without the royals?

I guess because people actually think a presidential figure, maybe someone like Starmer, will bring the tourists flocking in - strange way of thinking! Tourists come here because of the Royal Family and their history. They don’t have to make controversial political decisions like government, or a presidential figure, would do. The RF are in the main pretty uncomplicated, barring issues including Andrew and Harry, and historical issues with Diana. People just like the history of it all. I honestly can’t see how getting rid of them would increase tourism. It really wouldn’t..
