Continuing the on from the As ever thread

  • Funny article from Jan Moir

https://archive.ph/UfTPx

  • Turns out Chrissy wasn’t the only known bully that Meg invited onto the show. David Chang has serious anger issues and has bullied staff

https://www.standard.co.uk/culture/tvfilm/meghan-markle-s-shameless-pr-stunt-with-david-chang-is-disgusting-b1244549.html

  • Megs new show hasn’t appeared in the Top ten on NF in the UK or US, which she had done for the first series. NF aren’t promoting it other that in the ‘new this week’ section. You also have to scroll along to find it.
  • No stock sold out yet

Meghan Markle’s shameless PR stunt with David Chang is disgusting

The first episode of With Love, Meghan season two has a nasty jumpscare

So i can afford Disney too but if someone offered me a free trip I'd take it. And use the money I would of spent on a other holiday.....

Taking freebies isn't embarrassing or a bad thing.

Because the middle class of America are already priced out of going to Disneyland- it’s now for the wealthy and shockingly, the uber rich like Meghan don’t even have to pay.

For someone that has made it her business to talk about equity, fairness and how we are ‘linked not ranked’ ….doesn't really ring true does it?

And if taking a freebie meant you making your child’s bday a public spectacle, I suspect you would think twice.

Opinion | Disney and the Decline of America’s Middle Class

The theme-park operator, like so many other companies, is abandoning America’s middle class.

Im not defending her. I just don't see why its embarrassing it cringe if people take freebies. So what. Thats what im defending. That it really isnt that awful and to criticise people over it is stupid.

It's not embarrassing but it is indicative of Meghan's position now - she is an " influencer" . Her " opinion" can be bought for a few free bucks.

Exactly!

Go for it, if that's the life you want.

Put the whole titles and 'royal' thing behind you, it wasn't for you (and wouldn't be for many people).

Be Meghan Markle (or Mountbatten-Windsor if you want to take your husband's surname, not particularly feminist but whatever you choose).

Embrace influencing and celebrity, whatever that brings in those terms of success and failure.

But stop hanging onto the trappings of royalty (Empire 2.0) such as titles.

There is a need to criticise when she uses the freebie on her public Instagram and doesn’t declare that it’s a paid promotion.

It’s a legal requirement by the Federal Trade Commission to do so - she hasn’t - so it’s deceptive.

I have already previously replied to your post pointing out she is breaking the law - but you still defend her illegal activities - why?

I think that it's indicative of the way they (especially Meghan) think. They are influencers at heart.

Meghan always struggled with the fact the royal protocol meant she couldn't automatically keep all the gifts that she was sent - the blood diamonds being the most famous example - although she did keep them and took them with her when she left.

RecoIIectionsMayVary · 20/09/2025 11:50

Ah the Disney pictures of Lili with her long thick hair that she can nearly sit on....

Was she even allowed to take those earrings? It doesn’t matter anyway because she will never be invited to anywhere she could wear them.

Thanks for the explanation. The Jimmy Kimmel thing is scary.

Yep, even Sen. Ted Cruz (Rep.) is furious.

jonthebatiste · 20/09/2025 12:35

Perhaps the freebie was officially offered to Harry and his children (the actual princes/princess, and the actual catches for Disney) rather than Meghan, so she didn’t break any laws by not disclosing on her Insta?

As for shilling for them: a few days ago you had Kate and William, KC3 and Camilla welcoming the US President into a real royal castle with real footmen and real gold carriages and a real banquet and real-world consequences, and now we have Harry in America in fake castles with fake kingdoms and fake peons and fake carriages doing nothing of any consequence…and then paying for it (instead of being paid for it with reputational feathers in his hat- oh how that’ll burn Meghan) with yet more knocks to his reputation. Very sad that that’s the closest he gets to Prince-ing these days, when he and his wife have made clear how dear real royalty is to them. Their timing is so, so awful (not just because of the Disney boycotting thing).

NormaMajors1992coat · 20/09/2025 12:40

It really is hilarious that H+M have managed to manoeuvre themselves to the wrong side of Ted Cruz 😂😂

But then again I suppose they have been quite open about their opposition to free speech.

NormaMajors1992coat · 20/09/2025 12:55

@Spectre8 you haven’t responded to @Madchest’s question about why you defend Meghan’s decision not to follow the legal requirements of paid promotions. Is it ok for her to break the law like this? Or do you think it doesn’t apply to her in the same way it does to other influencers?

Is it the law in the US? AFAIK, UK-based influencers have to flag promotional posts, but that's because of UK legislation.

NormaMajors1992coat · 20/09/2025 15:12

Yes, it’s required by the Federal Trade Commission, the US govt body responsible for protecting consumers.

SqueakyDinosaur · 20/09/2025 15:16

Thanks - useful information!

Madchest · 20/09/2025 15:20

Madchest · 19/09/2025 08:47

From Ai:

Yes, influencers in the US are legally required to clearly disclose free gifts they post about because the Federal Trade Commission considers any "material connection" between the influencer and the brand, including receiving a free item, as a form of payment that must be disclosed to avoid misleading followers. This is to ensure transparency and honesty in endorsements, as a material connection exists when there's any personal, financial, or employment relationship with a brand.

Here you go @SqueakyDinosaur - as you can see this was pointed out to PP that H&M have allegedly broken the law and deceived consumers but PP continues to double down in their defence. Weird.

No I defended against stupid criticisms like when people.pick on her for creased clothes but she is wearing 100% linen which also creases as you move, sit down etc. What's the point of critising that? It happens to that material.

Same with this, its a freebies so bloody what. And is an influencer has she come out and said it? Or its just what people decide she is doing. If she was she would be doing hell of alot more on her isntgram in terms of paid ads.

NormaMajors1992coat · 20/09/2025 16:22

Ha I don’t think the law only applies to people who have announced that they are influencers 😂😂
Meghan might not like to think of herself in that way, but being paid to promote a product is bei no paid to promote a product, whether you think you’re an influencer or not. And it brings legal obligations as described by a PP.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 20/09/2025 16:23

No I defended against stupid criticisms

That is demonstrably not true, you defend Meghan against any criticism on here, wether it’s proven lies, bullying or creased clothes, if Meghan is criticised in anyway whatsoever you leap to her defence, which is fine, your prerogative, but don’t pretend otherwise, we can all read on here.

IcedPurple · 20/09/2025 16:31

Bloodymigraines · 20/09/2025 08:43

Taking freebies is fine if you are up front about it and don't disguise a business deal as a birthday treat for your child.

Yeah, she used her daughter's birthday first as an opportunity to post a 4 year old video of herself twerking in the delivery room, and now as a way to score a freebie with Disney.

But I guess that's all fine because we didn't see the children's faces.

That's a bit of a mismatch - pointing at groins is hardly the Disney dream.

Are they? I thought it was kind of 50/50. Meghan must be a bit spooked though by Harry's determination to spend time in the old country.
