I think its pretty clear the chair, SC, inherited a very dysfunctional organisation,
- the delegation of certain powers to the chair, including consideration of an ‘executive chair’ role, was a confusing, convoluted and poorly governed process, with a lack of clearly defined delegations over time
- the then trustees failed to have proper processes and policies in place to investigate internal complaint
- (no evidence of)‘over-reach’ by either the chair or the Duke of Sussex as patron, but the Commission is critical of the charity’s lack of clarity in delegations to the chair which allowed for misunderstandings to occur
Separately, the Commission expects that in future, the charity should have a clearly defined patron role set out in writing.
Those observations are quite illuminating when you realise the previous chair was Harry's buddy who sat as the chair for almost 12 years, most of the trustees were on the board for far too long, and all connected to either Harry or Seesio. .
I imagine Harry was the one who benefited from that opaqueness of the chair, , which does tie in with what Sophie said about Harry having and using influence on the trustees to get what he wanted.
Then Harry decides to basically call the Charities Commission incompetent 🙄 another stitch up in his eyes, I guess.
It does beg the question if he really is competent to be involved in any charity,.
