Yes, but we dont pay for them! If we do, we have the right to know how our money is being used.

We paid for the BBC which condoned and encouraged all sorts of unsavoury activities in the recent past.

I think you’re being a bit hasty and possibly credulous about the Sudan Barrantes allegations.

I think it's entirely plausible and more than likely backed up impeccably.

I don't think royal biographies these days would dare a wild punt.

It’s quite bizarre a bombshell revelation, as you say, tossed out almost casually. Assuming his sources are as impeccable as many have attested, I think he’s laying the groundwork for far more toxic revelations the kind that could truly be catastrophic for the royal family which was mentioned in the DM video I posted upthread.

It’s almost as if he’s just fired a shot into the ceiling of a Wild West saloon a warning that he’s packing real bullets.

Has this been mentioned in the context of the Mail revelations ?

Prince Andrew lost his virginity at 11, biography claims
Experiences said to have been formative moment in which he ‘realised he was obsessed with women’

Yes - I agree. It’s a very strange thing to do - to just mention it ‘in passing’ like that.

Some pps think I’m questioning its veracity - but I’m in no position to know if it’s true (like other posters).

And it is right that it is investigated and brought to light.

So are they claiming he was a victim of abuse?

So he was raped and child trafficked in modern parlance? Is that what I am to understand? This is horrific. How can a royal prince be exposed to so many sexual situations? Losing virginity at 11 sounds surreal in literally any type or circumstance, but even more so as one fo the children of a Queen. Who are the half-a-dozen girls he has slept with by the age of 13 and how old were they?? If they were all the same age, how did such encounters even happened among the royal circles?

CoffeeCantata · 07/08/2025 21:48

And it is right that it is investigated and brought to light.

But, apart from the perpetrators, Savile, Hall, Harris and Brand, have any BBC high-ups been called to account? Heads rolled I hope, but I’m not aware of it in the press?

It just makes no sense! I hope there’s a fuller explanation in the book itself. It sounds like a load of hearsay and gossip.

If Harry’s account of losing his virginity hadn’t come from his own mouth, I’d be similarly doubting that!

I stand by what I said - any institution that accepts public money should be transparent about how it is spent and how the institution operates. Doesn't matter which one it is and how it operates. This thread is talking about the RF and I believe it applies to them as much as anyone else. The difference with the BBC is that there are so many barriers to fully discussing the ins and outs of the RF and how they use the money we give them. Plus the stans who feel it is some kind of outrage to even question how the RF works (I dont think the BBC has an equivalent). Its like the thread on here recently about the allegations at Highgrove and the discontent among the gardeners - so many people came along to point out the it is run as a charity who did not seem to be able to grasp the financial and other advantages of setting it up that way for the King.

Hotflushesandchilblains · 07/08/2025 21:54

@CoffeeCantata - I too hope heads rolled. I wonder if it is just not considered newsworthy?

The Mail has seized on this story, focusing on claims that Epstein was blackmailing Prince Andrew a deeply disturbing development on every level. Buckingham Palace has yet to issue any statement, and it must be panic stations behind the scenes as they consider how to handle this. Given that Parliament is effectively gagged by convention, it's likely there will be no official comment. Instead, they may choose to keep him permanently out of sight and hope that nothing emerges which proves criminality beyond doubt.

Mr Lownie claimed that 'girls would be provided for' Andrew and used as kompromat - a Russian word for when compromising material is gathered to blackmail.

'But not just the Russians, the Libyans, countries in the Middle East, people in Kazakhstan, you name it. They've all got kompromat on Andrew', he said.

Most notably there was a tall, stunning blonde, who had dyed her hair red, part of a Russian spy ring operating in Britain.

She had seduced him in the penthouse of a Knightsbridge hotel, loaned him £25,000 interest-free to pay for one of his daughter’s trip to Switzerland.

It does annoy me - I find the BBC very untransparent sometimes. There was a the case about 12 years ago when due to an IT mess-up, nearly 100million of licence payers’ money was wasted. I remember Eddie Mair getting really angry about it on PM but we heard no more.

I really hope it wasn’t swept under the carpet, but they certainly didn’t follow up on the story.

That makes very little sense.
He attended all boys schools so the opportunity for sexual encounters at the age of 11 would be very limited I would have thought (would hope). At home he would have had a nanny and staff around surely?

CoffeeCantata · 07/08/2025 22:06

@vera99

Yes but - that article was bizarre - again, monstrous allegations but all told in a very gossipy, vague and unsubstantiated way. I trust it’s not verbatim from the book, do you think?

I wasn’t impressed by it. Maybe it’s a mangled version précised by the paper.

Who made these allegations? Who are they suggesting was involved in A losing his virginity? Children or adults? It’s meaningless without that information.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-14980755/prince-andrew-lost-virginity-aged-11-claims.html

The Duke of York's first sexual experience was when he was aged eight, according to an unnamed source quoted in the book.

'He admitted that his second sexual experience came before he turned 12 and when he was 13 he had already slept with more than half-a-dozen girls,' the source said.

Prince Andrew lost his virginity at the age of 11, biographer claims

Royal biographer Andrew Lownie made the bombshell claim in his new 456-page tome 'Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York'.

I want to know how the author got so many details, who could be so close to Andrew to know his life to such a degree, such intimate revelations.

The US dont have a ceremonial head of state. They have an executive President. It's a completely different form of government. I doubt anyone who craved real power would bother with being a ceremonial head of state as they have in Ireland or Germany.

It sounds like something an incredibly juvenile, stupid person with absolutely no concept of what he is actually insinuating would say as a boast. If someone has said that to Lownie, I would put money on it being something Andrew has said. It is concerning if he has boasted about it that he seems to have no idea about sexual exploitation of children- which leads us back to Epstein...

Reddog1 · 07/08/2025 23:35

I imagine that there are hebephiles out there who’d see a young prince as a prize. And people like that get jobs in schools, scouting, sports coaching etc deliberately to be close to children. So I don’t disbelieve it.

I don’t think that it should’ve been in the book, though. He’s awful but he’s entitled to anonymity if he was indeed a victim of abuse.
