It’s channel 5. Saturday night. They have rolling royal programmes. If I’m home alone I may flick through. Recent one on the yorks finances was interesting. So not just picking on Meghan.

Oh OK. I was thinking what saddo would even think of that as a topic of interest

Ohpleeeease · 08/07/2025 08:58

So an interest in the Yorks’ finances (other royals may be available) is acceptable but only “saddos” would be interested in Meghan Markle’s. Do you see how illogical and fangirly that sounds?

onehorserace · 08/07/2025 09:21

I liked the title format Duche$$

threesocksmorgan · 08/07/2025 09:28

I can't imagine watching it. sounds boring, I do love the programmes about royal residence's.
I do wonder why people who don't like M watch programmes about her.

Mylovelygreendress · 07/07/2025 21:32

So what happens if the other books don’t materialise?

I don't know.

The whole deal was shrouded in secrecy from the start but given PRH don't appear to be chasing the follow-ups with any gusto I suspect the speculation they got their maulers burnt may be correct and the whole thing has been quietly shelved.

It was a very interesting resume and it was interesting to see independent analysis of her strategies. Perhaps it may make people rethink their opinion of her 🤷‍♀️

I'm interested in anything that may shed light on any royal finances.

Really? I’m not keen on Hitler but I’ve watched programmes about him.

Fair and agree, but H&M have nothing to do with Royal finances. I assumed it was some Meghan bashing show for her deranged critics

I don’t like the Yorks but I watched the one about their finances as I was interested where their money came from. It doesn’t make me a saddo because I don’t like them.

ThePoshUns · 08/07/2025 10:15

There is a very dull new post on the As Ever page. MM holding a generic bunch of flowers. I couldn’t help but notice that her beige jumper is rather bobbly. Do they not have lint shavers in Montecito? That attention to detail not so sharp today.

LadyJaneGrey18 · 08/07/2025 10:17

I watched the whole thing last night. The consensus seemed to be that Ma businesses are successful and working and she’s good at it!

They have some interesting historical ones

There was one about the Spencers (Diana's parents) - that really mirrored the disastrous marriage of Charles and Diana. Unequal marriage, Teenage bride/groom 30+. Matchmaking by relatives, Social climbing. Lack of common interests etc

The one about the Duke & Duchess of Windsor during WWII also had strong parallels to H&M

Why is this stupid line trotted out time and time again? You don't have to like something to be interested in it, especially if it has had a historical, political or social impact. And anything H&M get up to that involves large quantities of money exchanging hands, and is based on their royal titles and connections to the RF, is interesting to royal watchers.

Really? That’s rather insular. I mean, I’m not a fan of Norman Tebbit but I dare say I’ll watch a retrospective about him in the next few days.

I’m trying to imagine only watching programmes about people one likes, and find that a bit mind-blowing. No programmes about Prince Andrew, Richard III, Henry VIII, Bibi Netanyahu, Huw Edwards, Margaret Thatcher, Brigitte Macron, Patti Hearst … on and on and on. I’d find that quite limiting.

RandyRedHumpback · 08/07/2025 10:25

I'm just going point out that Channel 5 is owned by Paramount Global, and H&M are very close to Paramount Global co-CEO, Brian Robbins, and his wife, Tracy, who I believe appeared in WLM and was a recipient of the ARO jam. They have been pictured together a lot and flew to Jamaica with them for the Bob Marley film premier last year.

But only because of the Royal title.

its not a "stupid" line. it is odd that people who don't like her would choose to watch a programme about her.

If that's the mindset you deploy when choosing what information to absorb, then you must have a very narrow viewpoint. You sound like a lot of teenagers who don't think doing well in certain subjects at school is ok because they aren't interested in them. They can't comprehend that applying themselves to these subjects gives them a more rounded skill set and view of the world.

It's not odd to be interested in the shenanigans of a member of the royal family, a political actor with friends in very high places and a controversial agenda to promote SM censorship, and a person who put herself at the heart of a spurious race scandal. How someone that venal is making her money and wielding her influence - and how she might be influenced by cash being dangled in front of her - is very interesting.

Exactly @RandyRedHumpback!
I dare say few people like prince Andrew but if we hadn’t read the “awful “ media and watched the tv interview and subsequent programmes, we would have no idea what he was up to.
apparently that makes 80 percent of the population “ sad “ .

I don't like the following people: Prince Andrew, Hitler, Trump, Rose and Fred West and Margaret Thatcher but I've recently watched documentaries about them. It's about evaluating evidence and being informed.
